WLE2-POE-S
User’s Manual
A WLE-POE-R7 or WLE-POE-R33 Receiver Adapter (sold separately) is required when supplying
power to an AirStation or BroadStation that does not support Power Over Ethernet (POE).
Thank you for purchasing the WLE2-POE-S.
Read this manual carefully before using the product to be sure of correct usage. After reading, store the manual
in a safe place for future reference.
Use the following procedure to supply power to non-POE-compatible AirStations or BroadStations.
Do not connect a hub or PC to the POE port.
Doing so may result in damage or burnout of the hub or PC. Connect this product to a Receiver
Adapter’s POE port.

Product Overview
The WLE2-POE-S and the Receiver Adapter do not have a repeater function. The total cable
length from other device connected to the product's LAN port to the AirStation or BroadStation(total
length of 1, 2, and 4 in the following diagram) is 100 m max.
The WLE2-POE-S Power Supply Adapter is an adapter for supplying power to the AirStation or the
BroadStation. Using this product enables compatible AirStations or BroadStations to be used in locations that
are not provided with a nearby power supply.

Connect the LAN port of the WLE2-POE-S to the hub or computer.

Connect the POE port of the WLE2-POE-S to the POE port of the Receiver Adapter using
Cat 5 network cable or higher.
If network cable lower than Cat 5 is used, the power may not be supplied to the
AirStation or BroadStation.

Connect to hub, etc.

Connect the power cable to the AC Adapter of the WLE2-POE-S, and then insert the
plug into the AC power outlet.
Power indicator
Lit green when the product is connected to the AC outlet.

WLE-POE-R33) to the POE port.

Specifications
Always use Cat 5 network cable or higher (all Melco ETP-series cables can be used) to connect this
product with a POE-compatible AirStation or BroadStation or Receiver Adapter.
Using a different cable may prevent the supply of power.
The WLE2-POE-S Power Supply Adapter does not have a repeater function. The total cable length

Use LAN cable that is compatible with the products to which it will be connected.
Use commercially available cables. Using cables prepared by the user may result in the network
configuration not functioning properly.
Always use Cat 5 network cable or higher (all Melco ETP-series cables can be used) when configuring a network of 100 Mbps.
Supplying Power to a POE-compatible Products
Use the following procedure to supply power to a POE-compatible products.

products.

This product does not have a repeater function. The total cable length from other device connected to the product to the the POP-compatible product is 100 m max(total length of 1 and 2 in the
following diagram).

When installing the equipment, do not crimp the power supply cable between walls, racks (tanks), or similar.
