Pro-Ject Set “Micro-Hifi-System”
Dear music lover,
thank you for purchasing a Pro-Ject “Micro-Hifi-System”-Set.
In order to achieve maximum performance and reliability you should study these instructions for use carefully.

Safety instructions

AC outlet voltages vary from country to country. Before connecting to the mains, make sure that the
voltage in your area meets the voltage requirements printed on the power supply.
The power cord/power supply is used to disconnect the unit from the mains. Make sure that the
power cord/power supply is easily accessible at all times. Never handle the device, the power
cord/power supply while your hands are wet or damp.
Avoid letting liquids enter the device or the power supply. Never place any item containing liquid,
such as a flower vase on or near the device. Never spill any liquid on the device or the power supply.
Never place any naked flame sources, such as lighted candles on or near the device. The product shall not
be used in damp or wet locations, next to a bathtub, sink, swimming pool or any other similar conditions.

Connecting receiver, docking station and CD player
Connect, using the supplied interconnect cables, the sockets IN1 on the receiver to the sockets OUT on the
CD Box S. The sockets OUT of the Dock Box S Fi have to be connected to the sockets IN2 on the receiver.
Take care to connect the left and right channels correctly. The right channel is usually marked red,

the left channel black or white.
Antenna input
Connects any antenna cable with a co-axial DIN-plug / US-model F-plug.
Connecting receiver and speakers
The output terminals accept loudspeaker cables terminated with 4mm  Banana plugs, spades connectors
or naked wire.
Connect the cable terminals on the receiver to the terminals on the speakers.
The red speaker terminals carry the positive signal (+), the black speaker terminals the negative

signal (–). Make sure the polarity of the connection is correct at each end of the cables.
Only connect one loudspeaker with an impedance not less than 4 ohms per channel.

Make all connections whilst the CD player is disconnected from the power supply.
Connection to a external A/D-converter
Connect the Co-axial out socket to a coaxial digital input on the D/A converter or AV processor. Doing so
allows you to use the signal in its digital for further digital processing.

Connecting to a computer, iPod® operating system
Connect the USB-output of the Dock Box to a free USB-socket on your computer and turn it on/make sure it
is powered on.
When the Dock Box is connected to a computer, all functions of the Dock Box are blocked.

Connection to a TV-set or a beamer
Connect the S-VIDEO socket to a s-video input of your TV-set or beamer.
Fitting and adjustment of the iPod® cradle
Use the knurled screw supplied to fix the cradle to the Dock Box chassis. Do not fully tighten the screw yet.
Now place your iPod® on the Dock Box contacts. Move the cradle so that it supports the iPod® and tighten
the screw.
Suitable for iPods® with 30-pole connector only.

Use without the cradle breaks the 30-pole connector of the Dock Box and the socket of the iPod®.
Before connecting the iPod®, any sort of cover has to be removed.
Mains power connection
Receiver Box S
Connect the low voltage plug from the power supply to the Power 20V " socket before connecting the power
supply to the mains.
CD Box S
Connect the low voltage plug from the power supply to the Power 9V " socket before connecting the power
supply to the mains.
Dock Box S Fi
Connect the low voltage plug from the power supply to the Power 18V " socket before connecting the power
supply to the mains.

Never use any other power supply than the one supplied with the particular unit.
To switch on and off, loading the battery - Dock Box S Fi
The push button on the front panel turns the Dock Box on and off. The blue LED above the push button shows
that the unit is switched on.
When the Dock Box is connected to the mains supply and switched on, the iPod® will start recharging as soon
as it is placed on the contacts. Recharging will continue even if the iPod® is on standby. Recharging is not
possible, when the Dock Box is switched off.

The push button on the left hand side will toggle the receiver between its fully operational status and standby.
The blue LED above the stand-by push button shows that the unit is switched on.
In standby the display will show STANDBY.
While switching off, the unit saves the settings for input, volume and mute, to be set automatically after next
power on.
Input selector
After the unit is powered on, the push button
selects the inputs IN1, IN2 and the tuner mode in turn. The
display will show the volume level and the selected input: TUNER, IN1 or IN2.
The optional input expander Pro-Ject Switch Box S provides three more inputs. For further details please see the
user guide of the Pro-Ject Switch Box S.

To switch on from standby or to standby - CD Box S
A short press of the push button on the left hand side switches the player to its fully operational status. To return
to standby, press the button for more than four seconds. The display shows STANDBY when the unit is in standby.
To switch to standby, playback must be stopped.
Inserting and ejecting a disc
Switch the unit on from standby. Insert the disc into the slot, with the label side facing upwards. The slot-loading
mechanism will load the disc automatically. The display shows the total number of tracks on the disc and the
total duration of the disc.
A short press of the button stops playback. Pressing again, ejects the disc.
Play
starts playback of the first track. The display shows the current track number, the elapsed time of the
current track and the play icon.
Pause
pauses playback. The display shows the current track number, the elapsed time of the current track and
the pause icon.
To resume playback press
again.
Stop
A short press of the button stops playback. The display shows the total number of tracks on the disc, the
total duration of the disc and the stop icon.
Stepping between tracks
Press the buttons
(previous track) or
(next track). The display shows the number of the tracks as you
step, the elapsed time of the current track and the step icon.
Scanning through the disc
Press and hold the button
(fast backward) or
(fast forward) to scan through the disc. The display shows
the current track number, the elapsed time of the current track and the scan icon.

Replacing batteries (Receiver, CD Box S and Dock Box S Fi)
Proceed as follows:


Unlock and slide open the battery case cover
Replace the battery.
Make sure the battery is the right way round !
 Close the battery case cover
Battery type: 1 x CR2032 / 3V or 1 x CR2025 / 3V

Refit the battery case cover
Do not dispose the batteries as ordinary domestic refuse. Please dispose your exhausted batteries at
