Service Bulletin Applies To: 04-019 2004 TL With Brembo Brakes – From VIN 19UUA65..4A000001 thru 19UUA65..4A044453 July 9, 2004 Brembo Brakes Squeal With Light Application The front brakes squeal with light pedal application. 3. Refinish the brake discs using an on-car brake lathe. Refer to service bulletin 00-037, Brake Disc Refinishing Guidelines. CORRECTIVE ACTION 4. Apply a thin and even coat of the Brembo brake grease to the back of the new pads and the end of each caliper piston. PROBLEM Refinish or replace the rotors, and install new brake pads. NOTE: Do not use Molykote M77. 5. Reinstall the calipers and brake pads. Make sure you install the pads with the larger chamfered edge up. Make sure the chamfer of the pads is oriented as shown. Out of warranty: Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work. REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Remove the old front brake pads (see page 19-15 of the 2004 TL Service Manual). (In ISIS, use the keyword PAD, and select Front Brake Pad Inspection and Replacement from the list.) 2. Do the front brake disc inspection (see page 19-17 of the 2004 TL Service Manual). (In ISIS, use the keyword FRONT DISC, and select Front Brake Disc Inspection from the list.) 6.
