My Shared Food user guide
My-Food-Web members can share food with each other.
My Shared Food shows you
• The food you give for sharing (“I give”)
• The food offered for sharing by your friends (“I take”)
The tab “I take” shows you
all the food sharing
organized by your friends.

How to create a food sharing
The information marked
with * has to be filled in.
1. Shared food description
The food category,
subcategory and type (as
defined in the foodipedia
catalogue) are optional.
The product unit describes
what 1 share of the food is.
Food units can be expressed
as a number of grams, kg,
litres, or pieces.
The price per unit can be
expressed in EUR or USD.
The maximum number of
food units that can be
shared.
In this example 20 units of
apples means 20 x 5kg, thus
100 kg.
A picture of the shared food
can be uploaded (optional).
The section “When” specifies
at least the date by when
friends can subscribe.
Additionally, also the dates
when delivery will start and
end can be specified.
All dates are selected in a
calendar.
Click this button to save the
shared food.
The section “Where”
specifies at least one location
where the friends can come
and pick up the food.
Up to 3 locations can be
indicated.
Here you can invite also friends
who are not yet My-Food-Web
members.
2. Invite friends
When all friends are listed you
can press either of the buttons
“Send share invitations”. All
invited friends, both those with
and without My-Food-Web
account,
receive
an email

3. The invited friends can subscribe
Invited friends subscribe for certain amounts of the shared food, but they are not allowed to
order together more than the maximum available amount (number of food units).
For details about the way to subscribe, see next topic “How to subscribe to a shared food”.
How to subscribe to a shared food
When a friend invites you to subscribe to a food he/she shares you receive a notification email. The
email contains a link to the food share details, where you can directly subscribe.
Additionally you can see the active offers you are invited to in the screen below:

If you already subscribed to
a food sharing, you are
notified in the overview with

subscribed.
Indicate how many units of
this food you want to get.
Choose the delivery location
from the list of alternatives.
Optional additional message
to the friend that shares the
food.
Click here and drag to
enlarge the window if it is
too small for the typed
message.
Click here to confirm your
subscription. Your friend will
be automatically notified of
your subscription.
Here you can see all the
information about the
shared food.
The displayed maximum
quantity shows how much is
left after other friends
already subscribed.
