ZFX-O GAUGE USER’S MANUAL Form #1005 - Rev. 02/08 SAFE RIGGER GAUGE WIRE ROPE GAUGE Use this hole to attach the ZFX-O Gauge to your Nicopress tool so your peers will gauge you to be a safe rigger Use this to check your rope size. Corresponding diameter measurement is to the right CRIMP GAUGE Use this to check that your NicoSleeve (Ferrule) has been crimped properly. The matching Nicopress Groove is labeled to the right. If the crimped sleeve doesn’t fit, cut the splice off and adjust the tool. NICO SLEEVE GAUGE Use this to check the size of an unlabeled Nico Sleeve (Oval Ferrule). Corresponding fractional measurement is listed to the left IN-LINE GAUGES AND LABELS Crimp Gauge Matching Nicopress Groove Label For making eye-splices Wire Rope Gauge Wire Rope Size Label Sleeve Gauge IMPORTANT NOTES The wire rope size only corresponds to the Crimp Groove and Crimp Gauge when making eyes and only with copper or copper plated sleeves! Other sleeve types (like stainless steel) use different gauges or crimp grooves! Please consult the owner’s manual when using them! The crimp gauge (Compressed Ferrule Gauge) is for use with Nicopress brand tools only. Other tools have different sizing. Check every crimp, Every time!
