Miele’s Maxim
S5 vacuum cleaners are manufactured
at Miele’s Bielefeld factory in Germany,
where every effort is made to adhere to
the company’s 111-year-old motto of
Immer Besser, or Forever Better. In
Bielefeld, every Miele vacuum cleaner is
put through rigorous endurance testing
in custom-built laboratories to ensure
the utmost quality and durability.
Before the production process begins,
each component also must undergo
individual testing. After all the parts,
electronics and accessory tools have
successfully passed each critical exam,
the Miele brand name is bestowed upon
them.
Excellent Maneuverability
The three smooth-running 360º castor
wheels mounted on steel axles ensure
maximum stability and maneuverability
for your vacuum cleaner. They are
cleverly designed with a travel ramp to
help you maneuver your vacuum easily
over thresholds and around obstacles.
Wide Operating Radius
The S5 is fitted with an extra-long cable
to eliminate the need for the user to
frequently switch electrical sockets while
vacuuming. The hose and suction tube
combined provide the user with a
generous operating radius of over 30 feet.
Six Level Power
Adjustment
The power setting on the S5 can be
adjusted to six different levels, in order
to customize the intensity of the suction
to the type of surface being cleaned.
The levels are marked with graphic
symbols on the vacuum and include
surfaces ranging from curtains to rugs to
hard floors. On select models, the power
levels are back-lit, making it even easier
for the user to find the right setting.
Silence
Setting
All Miele vacuums are known for their
quiet operation, but a new sound
insulation layer in the S5 makes this
model particularly quiet. The “silence
setting” offers the lowest noise output
along with the ideal power level for the
given surface, enabling a most pleasant
and effective cleaning experience.
Intelligent
Automatic Setting
When the automatic setting is selected on
an S5, the power level of the vacuum
cleaner adjusts automatically to best suit
the floor surface it is currently cleaning.

Durable Bumper Strip
The fully-integrated bumper strip is made
from soft plastic and stretches all the way
around the vacuum to protect both the
vacuum and your furniture in the event of
a collision.

Convenient Park System
During short cleaning breaks, you can
simply clip the wand and floor tool into the
park system on the back of the canister.
On selected models, when the park
system is engaged, the vacuum also
switches off the motor at the same time,
so you don’t have to.
Fully Integrated Set of Accessories
Helpful accessories are always within
reach since the S5 features a neat, onboard storage compartment. Accessories
include a crevice nozzle for hard-to-reach
spaces, an upholstery tool for couches
and curtains and a dusting brush for
cobwebs and ledges.

AirClean filter-bag. The AirClean filter-bag

comes with every S5 vacuum.
In fact, the S5 vacuum series has been
awarded certification by the DMT Air
Quality Testing Institute, an independent
institute that monitors air hygiene. The S5

a 101/2” wide brush roll with floating
head and swivel neck design is ideal

Parquet Twister
(Model SBB 300-3)
A mixture of polyamide and natural hair
ensures a gentle cushion for this floor
brush which makes sure that tile, wood
and other smooth surfaces are cleaned
thoroughly with extreme care. It has a
90o rotation and is exceptionally agile at
cleaning around obstacles such as table
legs and in tight places.
Turbo Comfort
(Model STB 205-3)
The Miele turbobrush contains a rotating roller brush that is activated by
the air that’s drawn through the head
and works to loosen the dirt in the floor
while collecting lint and thread. The
turbobrush is also fitted with a buffer
strip to protect furniture from scuffing.
This tool works best on cut pile.
