remote control
• Point the remote control at the REMOTE SENSOR located on the unit.
• When there is a strong ambient light source, the performance of the infrared REMOTE SENSOR
may be degraded, causing unreliable operation.
• The recommended effective distance for remote operation is about 16 feet (5 meters).
To Install Batteries
1. Open the battery door.
2. Insert two AAA batteries.
Battery Replacement
When the batteries become weak, the operating distance of the remote control is greatly reduced
and you will need to replace them.
CAUTION: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the
same or equivalent type.
Notes:
• If the remote control is not going to be used for a long time, remove the batteries to avoid corrosion
damage caused by battery leakage.
• Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix ALKALINE, standard (CARBON-ZINC) or rechargeable
(NICKEL-CADMIUM) batteries.
• Always remove batteries as soon as they become weak.
• Weak batteries can leak and severely damage the remote control.
WARNING: Do not dispose of batteries in a fire. batteries may explode or leak.
Many universal remote controls have a “learning” feature. We recommend you use that feature to
program the remote control.
For any questions or problems related to programming a universal remote control, you must contact
the customer service department of the universal remote control manufacturer for assistance, or
refer to the instructions included with the universal remote control. We cannot offer assistance in

Connecting a TV Antenna / Cable / Satellite
To view television channels correctly, a signal must be received from one of the following sources:
- An indoor or outdoor aerial antenna
- A cable system
- A satellite system
Removing Direct-Connect Antenna Before
connecting a different antenna or a coaxial
cable, you need to remove the direct-connect
antenna first.
Using Direct-Connect Antenna
To optimize TV reception, try adjusting the
orientation and position of the direct-connect
antenna.
Hold the direct-connect antenna
and rotate the nut as shown below
to remove.

connection
NOTE
Optimal indoor reception of over-the-air TV broadcasts is typically achieved using an external
fixed antenna. You may find that indoor reception is adequate using the direct-connect antenna.
However, for your convenience, we’ve also included an additional antenna with a long cable to
give you extra flexibility in antenna placement. In general, you’ll often find that placement of the
antenna near windows, or at higher elevations, should improve reception. If you seek to further
improve reception, we recommend you purchase the appropriate antenna that is suitable for your
particular environment.
Connecting a Digital Antenna
The tuner in this TV receives ATSC TV signals from an antenna.
This digital TV can receive standard (SDTV) and high definition (HDTV) over the air broadcasts.
Using Headphones / Earphones
• Turn down the volume before connecting headphones
to the unit, then adjust the volume to your desired
level.
• When headphones are connected, no sound will come
from the front speaker.
CAUTION:
Avoid listening to sound at high levels for prolonged
periods of time. This may be harmful to you and may
cause hearing loss.
Headphones / Earphones
(3.5mm diameter plug)
Using the flip-out Stand
The stand is located on the rear panel of the unit. Pull
the stand out and rotate it to the maximum angle (shown
as right).

time, disconnect the AC power adapter from the
AC power outlet.
• When the AC power adapter is plugged in, the
apparatus is not completely disconnected from
the main power supply, even when the power is
turned off.
• The AC power adapter shall not be exposed to
dripping or splashing and that no objects filled
with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on
apparatus.
Warning:
The AC power adapter is used as disconnect device and it should remain readily operable during
intended used. In order to disconnect the apparatus from the mains completely, the AC power
adapter should be disconnected from the mains socket outlet completely.
Using the Car Power Adapter
The 12V car power adapter allows the unit to be used with vehicles that have a 12V, negative ground
electrical system.
NOTE: It is not possible to satisfactorily receive ATSC TV signals while in motion - the car power
adaptor is intended for uses such as “tail-gating”.
WARNING:
Disconnect the car power
adapter when not in use. Not
for use in 24V vehicles.

SYMPTOM
CAUSE (AND REMEDY)
Unit does not work.
• Unplug the AC power cord and plug it back in.
• Check that the three-way switch is slid to “ON” position.
No picture on the TV
screen.
• Choose different channels on the TV set until the picture
appears.
No sound.
• Make sure the TV sound is not muted.
Remote control does not
work.
• Make sure the batteries are inserted correctly.
• Replace the batteries if they are exhausted.
• Remove any obstacles between the remote control.
• Use the remote near the unit.
• Point the remote at the remote sensor on the unit.
Can not watch a bilingual
TV program in its secondary
language.
• Make sure you have correctly selected the appropriate audio
setting (see p. 11). Please note that not all TV stations broadcast a
secondary language.
Weak signal or channel not
available.
• Try to reposition the antenna.
NOTE: Optimal reception of over-the-air TV broadcasts is typically
obtained using an external fixed antenna. Orientation and location
of the antenna is typically critical for best results - if using indoors,
you may find that placement of the antenna near a window, or in
an elevated location, improves performance.
TV can not receive signal
from a connected Cable
box or Satellite box.
• Confirm that a Coaxial cable is connected properly to the TV and
the Cable or Satellite box. Ensure that your Cable or Satellite box
is configured to output a TV signal over a Coaxial cable.
Can I watch TV while
holding the TV, or while
traveling in a vehicle ?
• No - ATSC TV signals can’t be received satisfactorily while TV is in
motion. The TV and Antenna should be stationary and positioned
for optimal reception. Note: the Car Power Adapter is provided
specifically for “tail-gating” usage.
Specifications and external appearance are subject to change without notice.
