Keychain Remote
Use your wireless keychain remote to arm and disarm your Wireless Security Kit
(49-1000). Your Wireless Security Kit includes one keychain remote, and you can purchase
up to 15 additional keychain remotes (16 total) to use with your system. Your keychain can
also control devices connected to remote modules (such as a lamp) that are controlled by
your Wireless Security System. Your keychain includes random digital security coding for
enhanced security.
1. Press and hold down arm for 3-4 seconds,
and then release it.
Note: If you need to register the keychain
remote a second time, remove the batteries,
and then hold down arm for 3-4 seconds to
pick up a random code.

Press to arm your security system (door/window sensors,
motion detectors).
Press to disarm your security system.
on and off (A and B) allow you to turn on and off up to two
devices that are connected to home automation modules,
such as a 61-3002 Lamp Module. Use this feature to turn lights
on and off while you are away from home.



2. Press menu start or on your security
system console. ENTER PIN (Personal
Identification Number) appears on the
display.
3. Use the console keypad to enter your fourdigit PIN. * appears on the display as each
digit is pressed. After you enter your PIN, 1.
INSTALL appears.
4. Press ok and 1. INSTALL / ZONE appears.

5. Press any button on your keychain remote.
RMOT 1 SET appears on the console display
to confirm registration.
6. Press clear to return to the setup screen.
Press clear again to confirm your exit from
setup mode. Press 1 to return to the main
display, or press 2 to stay in setup mode.

Press arm on your keychain remote.
All door/window sensors and motion
detectors that are part of your security
system are armed instantly.
disarming the system
When you return home, you have 30
seconds to enter and disarm the system
from the console (using your PIN) before
the alarm sounds. Thirty seconds is the
default entry time. Refer to your Wireless
Security Kit User Guide for details on how
to change the default delay and entry
times. Press disarm on the keychain remote
to instantly disarm the system.
• Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly.
• Do not burn or bury batteries.
• Use only fresh batteries of the required size and
recommended type.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, different types
of batteries, or rechargeable batteries of different
capacities.
Warning: Keep away from small children. If
swallowed, promptly see doctor.
replacing the batteries
Your keychain remote comes with two
CR2016 button-cell batteries installed. If
your keychain stops working properly,
replace the batteries.
1. Gently pry the
two halves of the
keychain remote
apart as shown.
2. Remove the old
batteries and
replace them with
two fresh CR2016 button-cell batteries.
Fresh batteries must be inserted within
30 seconds in order to retain the
security code.

back together.
• Increase the separation between the equipment
and receiver.
4. Press arm to arm your system. If the
system does not arm, you must
register the keychain remote again. To
register the remote, follow steps 1-6 in
“registering your keychain remote” on
page 1.
• Consult your local RadioShack store or an
experienced radio/TV technician for help.
• If you cannot eliminate the interference, the
FCC requires that you stop using your keychain
remote.
Changes or modifications not expressly approved
by RadioShack may cause interference and void
the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
