Carburetor adiustment
The manufacturer o{ the equipment on which
this engine is installed specifies top speed at
which the engine will be operated. D0 NOT
EXCEED this speed.

carburetor adjustment.
The carburetor on this engine is low emission. Airfuel
mixture is not adjustable. lt may be equipped with
governed idle. Governed idle and top speed have been
set at the factory. lf adjustment is required, see an
Authorized Briggs & Stratton Service Dealer.
Note: Engines operated at about 3000 to 5000 feet
(900 to 1500 meters) above sea level may require a
high altitude carburetor main jet. lf erralic performance
is observed, contact a Briggs & Stratton Authorized

Engines stored over 30 days need to be protected or
drained of fuel to prevenl gum from forming in fuel
syslem 0r on essential carburetor parts.
See an Authorized Briggs & Stratton Service Dealer.
For engine protection, we recommend use of Briggs &
Stratton Fuel Stabilizer available from an Authorized
Briggs & Stratton Service Dealer. Mix stabilizer with fuel
in fuel tank or storage container. Run engine for a short
time to circulate stabilizer through carburetor. Engine
and fuel can be stored up to 24 months.
Note: lf stabilizer is not used or if engine is operaling on
gasoline containing alcohol, e.g. gasohol, remove allfuel
from tank and run engine until it stops from lack o{ fuel.

Claims and Coverage Exclusions
Wananty claims shall be liled in accordance with the provisions of the B&S Engrne Warranty
Policy. Wananty coverage shall be excluded lorfailures ol Warranted Parts which are not original B&S parts 0r because of abuse, neglect 0r improper maintenance as set forth in the B&S
Engine Wananty Policy. B&S is not liable to cover lailures of Warranted Parts caused by the
use of add-on, non-original, or modified parts.
Maintenance
AnyWarranted Part which is notscheduled for replacement as required maintenance orwhich
is scheduled onlylor regular inspeclion to the effect of "repair or replace as necessaly" shall be
warranted as to defects Jor the warranly peri0d. Any Warranted Part which is scheduled for
replacement as required maintenance shall be warranted as to defects only for the period of
time up to the {irst scheduled replacement for that part, Any replacement partthat is equivalent
in performance and durability may be used in the performance of any maintenance or repairs.
The owner is responsible lor the performance of all required maintenance, as defined in the
B&S 0peraiing and Maintenance lnstructions.
