Flat DVD-TV Remote
The RadioShack 2-in-1 DVD-TV remote comes pre-programmed
to operate an RCA TV and DVD player. To control devices other
than default brands, follow these steps; otherwise, skip this
section.
Before proceeding, find the codes for the devices you want to
program in “Manufacturer’s Codes” on the right side of this page
and write them down or highlight them.
NOTE: To program a TV or mobile LCD device, use the TV key. To
program a DVD Player, TV/DVD Combo, TV/VCR/DVD Combo,
portable DVD player, or mobile DVD player, use the DVD key.
1. Turn on the device (for example, DVD player) and, if needed,
load media (for example, a DVD).
2. On the remote, press a device key (TV or DVD).
3. Press and hold P until the red LED blinks twice, then release.
4. Enter the first four-digit code for your device. The LED blinks
once as each digit is entered. If the code is correct, the LED
blinks twice.
NOTE: If the LED does not blink twice, repeat steps 2 to 4 and try
entering the code again.
5. Aim the remote at the device and press Power. The device
should turn off. If it does not, repeat steps 2—5, trying each
code for your brand until you find one that works. If you
cannot find a code that works, see “Searching for Your Code”.
6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 for the other device you want to control.

INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing a RadioShack 2-in-1 DVD-TV remote.
Your remote lets you control two devices with one easy-to-use,
compact unit.
After removing the battery pull tab, you can immediately use the
RadioShack 2-in-1 DVD-TV remote to control your RCA TV and
DVD player. To control other brands, follow the instructions in
“Programming a Device”. For best results, please read and follow
all the remaining instructions. Also, keep this guide for future
reference.
INSTALLING BATTERIES
Your RadioShack 2-in-1 DVD-TV remote requires a single 3.3 V
2032 Lithium battery (supplied).
Battery Use And Safety
•
Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended
type.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries
(standard, alkaline, or rechargeable), or rechargeable batteries
of different capacities.
• If you do not plan to use the remote for an extended period,
remove the battery. It can leak chemicals that can destroy
electronic parts.
WARNING: Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. Do not
burn or bury them.
To Install Batteries:
1.
Open the battery compartment cover (located on the back of
the remote).
2. Place the 2032 Lithium battery in the compartment and
match the + and - polarity symbols inside.
3. Replace the cover.
NOTE: When the RadioShack 2-in-1 DVD-TV remote stops
operating properly, replace the batteries within 10 minutes (to
protect the programming information).
A QUICK LOOK AT THE CONTROLS

Press LAST to recall the last-viewed channel.
SEARCHING FOR YOUR CODE
If your device does not respond to the remote after trying all codes
listed for your brand, or if your brand is not listed, try searching for
your code. For example, to search for a code for your TV:
1. Press TV once.
2. Press and hold P until the red LED blinks twice, then release.
3. Enter 9 9 1. The LED blinks twice.
4. Aim the remote at the TV and press Power. The remote sends
IR codes from its library to the selected device, starting with
the most popular code first.
5. If the TV responds, go to step 6. If the TV does not respond,
press CH+. The remote will try the next code. Continue until
the TV responds.
Note: Press CH- to try the previous code.
6. To lock in the code, press P once. The LED blinks twice.
7. To search for DVD codes, repeat steps 1 to 6, substituting the
DVD for TV.
CHECKING THE CODES
If you have set up the remote using the procedure in “Searching for
Your Code”, you may need to find out which four-digit code is
operating your equipment.
For example, to find out which code is assigned to your TV:
1. Press TV once.
2. Press and hold P until the red LED blinks twice, then release.
3. Enter 9 9 0. The LED blinks twice.
4. To view the code for the first digit, press 1. Count the LED
blinks (for example, three blinks = 3), and write down the
number in the appropriate code listing in step 6 under
“Programming a Device”.
NOTE: If a code digit is 0, the LED does not blink.
5. Repeat step 4 for the three remaining digits, using 2 for the
second digit, 3 for the third digit, and 4 for the fourth digit.
6. To check for DVD codes, repeat steps 1—5, substituting the
DVD for TV.
CHANGING VOLUME LOCK
Skip backward, rewind, fast forward, skip
forward, stop, pause, or play tracks on the
current disc.
View information about the current track or
disc.
Display the menu for the TV or the current
non-DVD disc.
Return to the TV or video without making a
menu selection.
Choose options from the DVD player’s menu
or guide.
Switch the TV's or DVD’s input between TV
or video programs.
Directly enter channels (for example, 09 or
31).
Press +100 to enter channels over 100 (for
example, +100, 3, 1 = 131). For a DVD
player, use +100 to access chapters over 10
(for example, +100, 3 = 13).
Press Enter to send channel number entries
on some TV models.

Press the device mode key you selected in step 3 again. The
LED blinks twice and turns off.
Program the restored mode key to control a device. See
“Programming a Device”.
TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM: LED does not blink when you press a key.
SOLUTION: Replace battery with one new 3.3 V 2032 Lithium
battery.
PROBLEM: LED blinks when you press a key, but device does not
respond.
SOLUTION: Make sure the remote is aimed at your device and is not
more than 15 feet away.
PROBLEM: LED blinks one long blink.
SOLUTION: An entry error has occurred (for example, wrong key).
Try entry sequence again.
PROBLEM: Remote does not control devices or commands are not
working properly.
SOLUTION: Try all listed codes for the device. Make sure the device
operates with an infrared remote control.
PROBLEM: CH+, CH-, and LAST do not work for your RCA TV.
SOLUTION: Due to RCA design from 1983 to 1987, only the original
remote control will operate these functions.
PROBLEM: No volume on a second TV.
SOLUTION: See “Changing Volume Lock”.
PROBLEM: Channels do not change properly.
SOLUTION: If the original remote control required you to press
Enter to change channels, press Enter on this remote after entering
the channel number.

The RadioShack 2-in-1 DVD-TV remote comes preset to allow
independent volume control of each selected device (Global
Volume Unlock). However, you may change the Volume Lock
setting to Global Volume Lock so that one device's volume will
control volume in all other modes. After that, you can perform
Individual Volume Unlock on a selected device to set its volume
control for independent operation.

Press MUTE to turn the sound off or on.
Move the cursor in the menu screens.
Press Select to choose the highlighted menu
option.

Enter 9 9 3 and then press the mode key for the device you
want to control volume (for example, TV). The LED blinks
twice. Now when you press VOL+, VOL-, or Mute, the selected
device (for example, TV) will control the volume regardless of
the current mode.
Unlocking All Volume Control (Restoring Global Unlock)

Volume is independently controlled for both programmed
devices.
REASSIGNING DEVICE KEYS
Each device key accesses a specific type of device (for example, the
DVD key can only be programmed to control a DVD Player, TV/
DVD Combo, TV/VCR/DVD Combo, portable DVD player, or
mobile DVD player). This makes it easier to search for a code if
your device’s code does not appear on the list provided.
Your new remote allows you to change the type of device that may
be assigned to a device key. That way, if you have two TVs, for
example, you can control them both by changing the type of device
the DVD key controls.
1. Press and hold P until the red LED blinks twice, then release.
2. Enter 9 9 2.
3. Press the device mode key (TV or DVD) corresponding to the
type of device you want the reassigned key to control (for
example, TV).
4. Press the device mode key you want to reassign (for example,
DVD). That LED blinks twice and turns off, indicating that
the key has been reassigned.
The reassigned key automatically uses the same device code as the
key you selected in Step 1. If your second device uses a different
code, you may program it for the new code. See “Programming a
Device”.

All replaced parts and products, and products on which a refund is
made, become the property of RadioShack. New or reconditioned
parts and products may be used in the performance of warranty
service. Repaired or replaced parts and products are warranted for
the remainder of the original warranty period. You will be charged
for repair or replacement of the product made after the expiration

DVD-TV de RadioShack. Su nuevo control remoto le permitirá
controlar dos dispositivos (aparatos) con una unidad compacta y
fácil de usar.
Después dequitar la etiqueta de la bateria, usted podrá usar de
inmediato el Control Remoto 2 en Uno DVD-TV de RadioShack
para controlar su televisor y reproductor DVD de la marca RCA.
Para controlar dispositivos de otras marcas, siga las instrucciones
en “Programación de un Dispositivo (Aparato)”. Para obtener los
mejores resultados, asegurese de leer y seguir el resto de las
instrucciones. Además, conserve esta guía para una referencia
futura.
INSTALACIÓN DE LAS BATERÍAS
Su control remoto necesita una batería del litio 2032 de 3.3 V (viene
incluida) para funcionar.
El Control Remoto 2 en Uno DVD-TV de RadioShack está prefijado
en la fábrica para que opere un televisor y un reproductor DVD de
la marca RCA. Para controlar dispositivos que no sean de las
marcas fijadas en la fábrica, lleve a cabo los siguientes pasos; de
otra forma sáltese esta sección.
Antes de proceder, revise los “Manufacturer’s Codes” (comenzando
en la parte derecha de esta página). Reslate o anote los nombres de
los dispositivos y los números de los códigos que desea programar.
NOTA: Para programar un televisor o un aparato con pantalla LCD
móvil, use la tecla TV. Para programar un reproductor DVD, un
aparato combinado TV/DVD, un aparato combinado TV/VCR/
DVD, un reproductor DVD portátil, o un reproductor DVD móvil,
use la tecla DVD.
1. Encienda el dispositivo deseado (v.g., un reproductor DVD)
y, si fuese necesario, póngale el medio que usa (v.g., un
disco).
2. Presione una tecla de dispositivo (TV o DVD).
3. Presione y mantenga presionada la P hasta que el LED rojo
parpadee dos veces y entonces sueltéla.
4. Introduzca el primer código de cuatro dígitos para su
dispositivo. El LED rojo parpadeará una vez para cada dígito
que se presiona. Si se realiza correctamente, el LED rojo
parpadeará dos veces cuando se presiona el último dígito.
NOTA: Si el LED rojo no parpadea dos veces, repita los pasos 2 a 4 y
vuelva a introducir el mismo código una vez más.
5. Apunte el control remoto al dispositivo y presione la tecla
Power. El dispositivo deberá apagarse. Si no lo hace, repita
los pasos 2 a 4, probando cada uno de los códigos de su
marca hasta que encuentre uno que funcione. Si aún así no
funciona, pruebe con la sección “Búsqueda de su Código”.
6. Si lo desea, repita los pasos 1 al 5 para cada dispositivo que
desee controlar. Para referencia futura, anote cada uno de los
códigos de los dispositivos que funcionan en los cuadrados
de abajo:

Uso y Seguridad de las Baterías
•
Utilice únicamente baterías frescas del tamaño requerido y del
tipo recomendado.
• No mezcle baterías viejas y nuevas, diferentes tipos de baterías
(estándar, alcalinas, o recargables), ni baterías recargables de
diferentes capacidades.
• Si no va a usar el control remoto durante un largo tiempo,
quítele las baterías. Éstas pueden derramar substancias
químicas que pueden destruir los componentes electrónicos.
ADVERTENCIA: Deseche las baterías viejas rápida y adecuadamente.
No las queme ni las entierre.
Instalación de las Baterías en el Control Remoto

Empuje adelante en la cubierta del compartimento de
baterías hacia abajo (en el respaldo del control remoto) y
levántela.
2. Deslice la batería del litio 2032 en el compartimento como se
indica por los símbolos de polaridad
(+ y -) que se muestran adentro.
3. Alinee la tapa con la abertura del compartimento y deslícela
de nuevo en su lugar.
NOTA: Cuando el Control Remoto 2 en Uno DVD-TV de RadioShack
deje de funcionar adecuadamente, reemplace las baterías pero, al
hacerlo, no se tarde más de 10 minutos (con el fin de proteger la
información sobre la programación).

BÚSQUEDA DE SU CÓDIGO
Si su dispositivo no le responde al control remoto después de haber
probado todos los códigos listados para su marca, o si su marca no
está listada en lo absoluto, trate de buscar su código. Por ejemplo,
para buscar un código para su televisor:
1. Presione TV una vez.
2. Presione y mantenga presionada la P hasta que el LED rojo
parpadee dos veces y entonces sueltéla.
3. Introduzca 9 9 1. El LED rojo parpadea dos veces.
4. Apunte el control remoto al TV y presione Power. El control
remoto enviará códigos infrarrojos desde su base de datos
hacia el dispositivo seleccionado, comenzando con el código
más popular primero.
5. Si el TV responda, siga con el paso 6. Si el TV no responda,
presione CH+. El remoto probará el siguiente código.
Continue hasta que responda el TV.
NOTA: Presione CH- para probar el código previo.
6. Para seleccionar el código, presione la P una vez. El LED rojo
parpadea dos veces.
7. Para buscar un código para su reproductor DVD, repita los
pasos 1 a 6, pero sustituya la tecla DVD por la tecla TV.
VERIFICACIÓN DE LOS CÓDIGOS
Si configuró el control remoto usando el procedimiento de
“Búsqueda de su Código”, tal vez tenga que averiguar cuál es el
código de cuatro dígitos que está operando su equipo.
Por ejemplo, para averiguar el código asignado a su televisor:
1. Presione TV una vez.
2. Presione y mantenga presionada la P hasta que el LED rojo
parpadee dos veces y entonces sueltéla.
3. Usando las teclas numéricas, introduzca 9 9 0. El LED rojo
parpadea dos veces.
4. Para ver el código del primer dígito, presione el 1. Cuente el
número de veces que el LED rojo parpadea (v.g., tres
parpadeos = 3) y anote el número en el cuadrado apropiado
debajo del paso 6 de “Programación de un Dispositivo
(Aparato)”.
NOTA: Si uno de los dígitos del código es el "0", el LED no
parpadeará.
5. Repita el paso 4 por tres veces más para los dígitos que faltan.
Use el 2 para el segundo dígito, 3 para el tercero, y 4 para el
cuarto.
6. Para verificar los códigos de su reproductor DVD, repita los
pasos 1 a 5, pero sustituya la tecla DVD por la tecla TV.
CAMBIO DEL BLOQUEO DEL VOLUMEN
El Control Remoto 2 en Uno DVD-TV de RadioShack se programa
en la fábrica para que haya un control independiente del volumen
en cada dispositivo seleccionado (Desbloqueo Global de Volumen).
Sin embargo, usted puede cambiar la programacion del Bloqueo
del Volumen a la de Bloqueo Global de Volumen de tal manera que
el volumen de un dispositivo quede bloqueado a un modo (v.g.,
para controlar el volumen del televisor en todos los otros modos).
Después de esto, si gusta, puede llevar a cabo un Desbloqueo
Individual de Volumen en un dispositivo seleccionado para fijarle
el control de volumen como una operación independiente.

REASIGNACIÓN DE LAS TECLAS DE
DISPOSITIVOS
Cada tecla de dispositivo puede controlar un tipo específico de
dispositivo (v.g., la tecla DVD sólo se puede programar para que
controle un reproductor DVD, un aparato combinado TV/DVD, un
aparato combinado TV/VCR/DVD, un reproductor DVD portátil, o
un reproductor DVD móvil). Esto le hace más fácil a usted buscar
un código si el código para su dispositivo no está en la lista a la
derecha.
Su nuevo control remoto le permite reasignar las teclas de
dispositivos (asignarles diferentes tipos de dispositivos). Por
ejemplo, si usted tiene dos televisores, puede reasignar le tecla DVD
para que controle el segundo televisor.

de las Reglas de la FCC. Estos límites están diseñados para
proporcionar una protección razonable contra interferencias
dañinas en una instalación residencial. Este equipo genera, usa y

dañinas a las comunicaciones por radio.
Sin embargo, no hay garantía de que no ocurrirá una interferencia
en una instalación en particular. Si este equipo causa interferencias
dañinas a la recepción de radio o televisión, lo cual se puede
determinar apagando y encendiendo el equipo, se anima al usuario
a que trate de corregir la interferencia mediante una o más de las
siguientes medidas:
• Reoriente o reubique la antena receptora.
• Aumente la separación que hay entre el equipo y el receptor.

Se verificó que este equipo cumple con los límites de un dispositivo

Para poder mantener el cumplimiento con los reglamentos de la
FCC, tienen que usarse cables blindados con este equipo. La
operación con equipos no aprobados o con cables no blindados
puede resultar en una interferencia en la recepción de radio y
televisión. Se cauciona al usuario que los cambios y las
modificaciones que se hagan al equipo sin la aprobación del
fabricante podrían nulificar la autoridad del usuario para operar
este equipo.
GARANTÍA LIMITADA DE 90 DÍAS
Este producto está garantizado por RadioShack contra defectos de
fabricación en su material y mano de obra bajo un uso normal
durante noventa (90) días a partir de la fecha de compra en una
tienda propiedad de la compañía RadioShack o de concesionarios y
distribuidores autorizados RadioShack.

DIRECTA O INDIRECTAMENTE POR EL USO O
FUNCIONAMIENTO DEL PRODUCTO O QUE SURJA DE
CUALQUIER INCUMPLIMIENTO DE ESTA GARANTÍA,

ESPECIALES, INCIDENTALES,O EMERGENTES, AUN CUANDO
RadioShack HAYA SIDO NOTIFICADA DE LA POSIBILIDAD DE
TALES DAÑOS.
Algunos estados no permiten limitaciones respecto a cuánto dura
una garantía implícita o a la exclusión o limitación de daños
incidentales o emergentes, de manera que las limitaciones o
exclusiones de arriba podrían no aplicársele a usted.
En caso de que se presente un defecto en el producto durante el
plazo de garantía, lleve el producto y el recibo de venta de
RadioShack como prueba de la fecha de compra a cualquier tienda
RadioShack. RadioShack, a su opción, a no ser que la ley prevea
otra cosa: (a) corregirá el defecto mediante la reparación del
producto sin cargo por las piezas ni por la mano de obra; (b)
reemplazará el producto por otro igual o de diseño similar; o (c)
reembolsará el precio de compra.

RadioShack. Las piezas o productos nuevos o reacondicionados
podrían usarse en el desempeño del servicio de garantía. Las

por las reparaciones o reemplazos del producto que se realicen
después de la fecha de vencimiento del período de garantía.
Esta garantía no cubre: (a) daño o falla causados por o atribuibles a
fuerza mayor, abuso, accidente, mal uso, uso inadecuado o
anormal, no seguir las instrucciones, instalación o mantenimiento
inadecuados, alteración, rayos u otros incidentes de exceso de
voltaje o corriente; (b) cualesquiera reparaciones que no sean las
proporcionadas por una Instalación de Servicios Autorizada
RadioShack; (c) fungibles como los fusibles o las baterías; (d) daño
cosmético; (e) costos de transporte, flete o seguro; o (f) costos de
remoción del producto, instalación, ajuste por servicio de
configuración o reinstalación.
Esta garantía le brinda derechos legales específicos, y usted podría
tener otros derechos que varían de acuerdo con el estado donde
vive.
