Introduction
Dear Customer,
Thank you for purchasing the Miomee®
Manual Breast Pump.
We hope you enjoy using the product.
To ensure your complete satisfaction,
we recommend you read the
instructions carefully.
Breastmilk is the most natural source of
nutrition a mother can provide her baby
because it contains special antibodies that
strengthen baby’s immune system.
However, work and travel demands make
breastfeeding a challenging task for
some mothers.
• The Miomee® Manual Breast Pump was
created in order to make this precious
source of nutrition readily available to
Baby whilst supporting you with those
everyday demands.

on the adjustable suction stem, the
stronger the suction will be). The handle
(G) attaches to the pump body (H) by
clicking the rounded top of the pump
body into the underside grooves of the
handle. The handle clip needs to be
in the unlocked/upright position when
attaching to the pump body.
• Insert gentle flex cup (A) into the cup
frame (B) until secure at the base and the

How to use
• Once the pump is assembled and set
to your desired suction strength, gently
place the gentle flex cup against your
breast, ensuring your nipple is in the
centre of the cup.
• Make sure your breast is forming a seal
against the silicone of the gentle flex cup,
if air can get in there will be no suction.
• Begin pumping the handle with your
hand at a comfortable speed that
replicates your baby’s sucking rhythm.
tips for mums
• The amount of milk and time is takes to
express will depend on where you are at
in your lactating cycle and the time of day.
• You shouldn’t experience pain whilst
expressing, if you feel pain stop
pumping and examine your nipple and
breast tissue.
Troubleshooting Steps
• If you experience a lack of suction,
make sure that the pump is properly
assembled and all parts are creating a
firm seal where appropriate.
• Check silicone valve (I) for damage.
• If you are unable to express milk with
the breast pump, try to relax, readjust
your posture, and reposition your nipple
so it is centered within the gentle flex cup
(A) and your breast has created a seal.
• If you begin to experience pain, try
decreasing the suction strength and/or rate.
• If problem persists, consult your healthcare
professional or lactation consultant.
when expressing
•B
e in a comfortable position, relax with a
drink handy.
• You can stimulate your milk flow by
gently stroking your breast tissue,
massaging towards your nipple.
• Become aware of milk flow – when
volume slows or stops switch breasts.
• Express both breasts at least twice.

Source: Adapted from Infant feeding guidelines for Health Workers NHMRC. Storing breastmilk at home is slightly
different than if you are in the hospital setting. Only you or a select few will be handling your milk and your baby is well
and healthy. Expressed breastmilk is already sterile, use fresh expressed milk whenever possible. It can be stored in
glass or plastic containers.
Sterilisation of infant feeding equipment
is recommended by all Government
bodies and Health Departments. They
have policies and guidelines that detail
sterilisation methods by using boiling
water, a chemical solution or steam.
These bodies recommend that breast
pump equipment and bottle feeding
equipment “should be rinsed out then
washed in hot water with detergent using

is just starting to activate by 3 months
of age and is not fully functional until
around 1 year of age. You have given Baby
passive immunity while in utero and if
breastfeeding, Baby is receiving antibodies
through your milk.
