Charging the Battery
This product is charged via the USB cable.
It is automatically charged by connecting it to the PC via the USB cable or connecting
the supplied AC adapter to the USB jack.

The backlit of the jog key is flashed during charging, and it remains lit when charging is
completed.
1. Charging time: About 3~4 hours at maximum (depending on the remaining capacity of the
battery.)
2. Do not put it into fire because it may cause explosion.
3. Do not it put into water or touch with water, which may cause the function of the charging
battery lost.
4. Overcharging and over discharging cause to shorten the life of the charging battery.
5. If charging is not completed for 6 hours, the product may have any problem.

Troubleshooting the PC with Via Chipset
The PC with Via Chipset may have the USB connection problem.
If the USB connection problem occurred, troubleshoot the PC as follows.

Installation Software
When you insert the provided CD into the CD-ROM drive, the installation program will
be automatically started. Install the program following the process below.

ƃ The MP3 driver will be automatically recognized by Windows ME/XP/2000 without additional software
installation. However, you should install the software in order to use the additional functions such as My
Logo or the memo writing functions. (Be noted that Windows 98 original version is not supported.)

Installing USB Driver
1. Connect the player to the USB terminal of PC as shown in the figure. You can connect it without
turning off the player.(However, if you set the player to the MP3 mode, installation will not be initiated.)
If it is connected successfully, the LCD display will be changed as shown in the figure.
2. USB driver installation will be started with the message "Finding new device".
The installation screen may not be displayed.

Ɔ Installing USB driver manually(This section is not applicable if the USB driver is
installed normally.)
If the USB driver is not installed automatically, install it manually as described below.
ƃ Windows 2000 /ME, Windows XP
1. Insert the CD in CD-ROM drive of PC.
2. Control Panel ƍ System ƍ Device Manager ƍ Universal Serial Bus Controller ƍ Double-click the
device name with exclamation or question mark. (See page 11 to see how to select the menu.)
3. Driver ƍ Driver Update ƍ Install from the List or Specific Location ƍ Next ƍ Browse ƍ D:\Driver
ƍ Next ƍ Finish
If the USB driver is not automatically recognized by Windows 2000, download and install the
latest service pack from Windowsupdate.Microsoft.com. The installation method may differ
depending on the types of PC and environment. If you still cannot install the USB driver, contact
the support center of the PC manufacturer. If you meet an installation error continuously, reboot
the PC and reconnect the USB cable again.

In Windows 98SE, you cannot use the player as a removable disk if don't install the
program using the installation CD. Make sure to install the USB driver first before
using the player.
*Window 98 Original Version is not supported.
1. Insert the installation CD in to the CD-ROM drive of your PC.
2. Control Panel ƍ System ƍ Device Manager ƍ Universal Serial Bus Controller and double-click the
device name with exclamation or question mark.

Using as Removable Disk
Once the program/ USB driver is installed and the player is connected to your PC, the
PC will recognize the player as a removable disk. So you can use the player as an
external storage device except for downloading file.

4. Select the file(s) to download from the PC and copy it to the MUSIC folder in the removable disk.
(Use the same method of file copy as in your PC. You can also copy the file(s) from the removable
disk to your PC.)
Select the file(s) to copy and right-click it ƍ Click Copy ƍ Select the MUSIC folder in the
removable disk ƍ Right-click ƍ Click Paste.
The "Copying Files" window appears on your PC and the "Don't Remove USB" message appears on
the LCD.

5. If the player LCD window appears as shown in the figure below, file download is completed.
Now, remove the USB cable and use the player.
1. Do not plug out the USB cable during file downloading. It may cause malfunction to your
PC and player.
2. Do not insert an earphone or an audio cable during file downloading.
3. Downloading can be delayed if there are too many folders or files.
4. The order of music files displayed on the Windows Explorer is not the order of actual
music playback.

When you complete file download, plug out the cable as described below.
1. Click the green arrow displayed on the right side of the Task-bar.
(The green arrow will not be displayed in Windows 98SE. If the LCD windows doesn't display
the "Don't remove USB" message, plug out the cable.)

Switching Mode
This product mainly consists of 5mdoes Music play mode playing MP3, WMA, and
OGG files, View mode playing JPEG files, FM mode listening to FM broadcast,
Enjoyment mode enjoying additional functions such as game, E-book and so on, and
Setup mode showing various function settings and information of the product.
Each mode can be switched by MODE/NAVI key at the center of the jog key.

Preparation for Recording
Ɔ Setting up recording quality (This product records files with the WMA format.)
You should check it because the recording quality and the maximum recording
time depend on the setting.

Preparation for Recording
Ɔ Setting up recording method
1. Select MODE ƍ SETUP ƍ RECORD ƍ METHOD.
(When setting CD-Sync)
2. Select a mode by pressing the jog key upward/downward and press
the
(MODE/NAVI)key.

VOR
VOR(Voice On Recording) function stops recording temporarily
when the voice is too low or there is no detected sound.
CD-Sync
CD-Sync function automatically separates the file by detecting
the mute sector between files. When recording several files
continuously from the external devices. You can set the mute
sector from 3 to 7 seconds.
- When recording with the CD-Sync function, the total number of files may differ from the
source.
- When recording with the CD-Sync function, recording will be automatically stopped if the
mute sector lasts more than 7 seconds than specified.

Ɔ Recording with the built-in microphone
1. Press (REC/PAUSE/EQ) key shortly in the Stop mode to start recording.
2. Press (REC/PAUSE/EQ) key again to pause recording.

Ɔ Recording by connecting to the external microphone
The external microphone is optional.
1. Connect the external microphone as shown in the figure.

Recording with External Device
Use this function to record the audio signal from the audio device or PC.
1. Connect the player to the external device using the provided audio cable, as shown in the figure.
2. Press (REC/PAUSE/EQ) key longer in the Stop mode to start recording.
3. Refer to the recording with the internal microphone for the subsequent usage method.
You should press (REC/PAUSE/EQ) key longer to record external audio signals.
If you press the key shortly, the player will enter the external microphone recording mode,
which results in abnormal recording.

1. All recording files will be saved in the RECORD folder. The file name will be
automatically created according to the recording signal, as shown in the following table.

Listening to FM Radio
1. Connect the earphone to the earphone terminal.
The earphone plays a role of an antenna. Therefore, if you don't connect the earphone,
the receptivity can be poor.
2. Select MODE ƍ FM (or press and hold REPEAT/DEL/FM key at the stop state.

4. Select a station by pressing the jog key to
direction
Click the jog key once to seek by one step or press and hold it to operate as the auto scanning
which automatically searches for the broadcasting channel nearest to the current frequency and
stops there.
5. Press
(MODE/NAVI) key to switch between Frequency/Preset mode.
Clicking the left or the right of the jog key operates to decrease or to increase the frequency at
'Frequency' mode and to decrease or to increase the preset channel at 'Preset' mode.

6. To memorize the station...
Seek the broadcasting channel to store by using the jog key and press REPEAT/DEL/FM key.
Select the channel to store by clicking the left or the right of the jog key and press
(MODE /NAVI)
key to store.
You can save up to 20 channels in the Frequency mode only.

Listening to FM Radio
7. To automatically memorize the station...
Press
(MODE/NAVI) key after selecting MENU ƍ FM ƍ AUTO MEMORY ƍ YES to
automatically save the station.
When automatic station saving is completed, the player will be switched to the Preset mode and
channel #1 will be received.
The newly selected station will be overwritten to the selected channel.

8. To remove the saved channel...
A. Select the channel to delete by using the jog key and press REPEAT/DEL/FM key.
B. Select 'YES' at 'Delete' dialog box and press
(MODE/NAVI) key to delete.

9. To listen to the FM broadcasting with a speaker
(However, the earphone should be connected continuously since it plays a role of an antenna.)
Select MODE ƍ SETUP ƍ FM ƍ SPK/EAR and SPEAKER. Press
(MODE/NAVI)key.
If you switch to the player mode or turn the player off, the earphone will be selected automatically.

Recording FM Broadcasting
To record the FM broadcasting...
1. Press (REC/PAUSE/EQ) key while you're listening to the broadcasting.

3. To playback the recorded broadcasting

It displays the image file with the extension of *.jpg on the LCD screen.

Viewing E-BOOK
It shows the contents of the file with the extension of txt on the LCD screen.
1. Select MODE ƍ ENJOYMENT ƍ E-BOOK.
(When you enter during playing the music or receiving the FM, you can see it while listening to the
music or the broadcasting.)
2. The contents of the E-BOOK file is displayed on the screen by selecting the E-BOOK file with the
jog key and pressing

Using Memo Function
Using the memo function, you can edit information on your acquaintances in the PC
and download it to the player for retrieval. You must install the program described in
the page 9.

The Intro function playback the saved music for 10 seconds so that you can see what it is.

the firmware of your Juke Box.
1. Download the new version of the firmware to your PC by accessing to our homepage.
2. Connect the USB cable to the PC and download the new version of the firmware to 'ROOT' folder
(removable disk) of this product.
