DECLARATION OF CHRISTOPHER BUTLER
My name is Christopher Butler and I declare as follows:
1.
I am the Office Manager at the Internet Archive, located in San Francisco,
California. I make this declaration of my own personal knowledge.

The Internet Archive is a website that provides access to a digital library of
Internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form. Like a paper library, we provide free
access to researchers, historians, scholars, and the general public. The Internet Archive has
partnered with and receives support from various well-known institutions and libraries, including
the Library of Congress.
3.
The Internet Archive has created a service known as the Wayback Machine. The
Way back Machine makes it possible to surf more than 240 billion pages stored in the Internet
Archive's web archive. Visitors to the Wayback Machine can search archives by URL (i.e., a
website address). If archived records for a URL are available, the visitor will be presented with a

list of available dates. The visitor may select one of those dates, and then begin surfing on an
archived version of the Web. The links on the archived files, when served by the Wayback
Machine, point to other archived files (whether HTML pages or images). If a visitor clicks on a
link on an archived page, the Wayback Machine will serve the archived file with the closest
available date to the page upon which the link appeared and was clicked.

The archived data made viewable and browseable by the Wayback Machine is
compiled using software programs known as crawlers that surf the Web and automatically store
copies of website files, preserving these files as they exist at the point of time of capture.

The Internet Archive assigns a URL on its site to the archived files in the format
http://web.archive.org/web/[Year in yyyy][Month in mm][Day in dd][Time code in
hh:mm:ss]/[Archived URL]. Thus, the Internet Archive URL
http://web.archive.org/web/19970126045828/http://www.archive.org/ would be the URL for the
record of the Internet Archive home page HTML file (http://www.archive.org/) archived on
January 26, 1997 at 4:58 a.m. and 28 seconds (1997 /01126 at 04:58:28). A web browser may be
set such that a printout from it will display the URL of a web page in the printout's footer. The
date assigned by the Internet Archive applies to the HTML file but not to image files linked
therein. Thus images that appear on the printed page may not have been archived on the same
date as the HTML file. Likewise, if a website is designed with "frames," the date assigned by the
Internet Archive applies to the frameset as a whole, and not the individual pages within each
frame.

PDF files are supplied with the corresponding URL, including the file's date and
time codes, on an attached cover sheet.

Is your phone compatible?
It is in your interest that you check your phone will work before paying for the service. Please look up your phone model, ask
your mobile phone dealer if unsure, then see what services are available to you . An X indicates that service will not work with
your phone. This is a guide only, you are responsib le for ensuring your phone will work with the service before
ordering. If you still have a Nokia 2110 or 3110 phone then it is time to upgrade , we recommend the Nokia 3210 or 7110 to
new buyers.
In addition, your phone must be enabled to receive SMS (text messages).
Spate of wrong numbers being given
We are getting lots of orders recently with wrong numbers and invalid email addresses. In the order form we ask three times
for you to check your details, and it is solely your responsibility to ensure you are putting the right phone number.
It may help for you to write your phone number in the usual way i.e. 07123 456789, then to take out the spaces and remove
the first zero. If your phone number does not start 07 yet , then do not put the 07 in your number I This is all we require you to
do, so please GET IT RIGHT!
If you still get it wrong despite all these reminders , we regret that someone else may receive your order and you will have just
purchased them a surprise present!

We will send a special message to your phone, and your phone will tell you "Operator logo received".
Press the menu button to see the Options, then scroll down using the arrow key until it says Save,
when you select this option the logo will appear on your phone!

SYRACUSE, NY - Starting Tuesday, July 2, Verizon Wireless customers in the Syracuse, Utica,
Watertown, Ithaca, Auburn, Canton and Potsdam areas will be able to reap the rewards of a significantly
faster, more robust wireless experience with the company's commercial launch of its 1XRTI network.
Express Network- the first deployment of 3G technology by a wireless company in Central New York will enhance all levels of wireless communications- from a simple voice call, to full Internet browsing , and
email. This high-speed network also supports enterprise app lications, giving companies with mobile
employees tools for increased productivity and efficiency.
This latest Express Network extension completes Verizon Wireless' 3G network expansion across
Upstate New York (the network launched in Buffalo, Rochester and the rest of Western New York in
March , and in the Capita l District and Eastern New York in April) and allows more Americans across the
country to access the most expansive high-speed wireless data network available.
The Express Network is Verizon Wireless' 1XRTI data network, capable of data transmission speeds up
to 144 kilobits per second (kbps). The Express Network will give users full Internet access, intranet
access and traditional email functionality via a laptop and select PDAs at unprecedented speeds for
wireless access. Business customers and individual consumers using Express Network can expect
high-speed wireless data and robust Internet access at average speeds between 40 and 60 kbps , with
bursts up to 144 kbps- similar to or better than speeds users experience when dialing in from their home
PC .
"Verizon Wireless jump-started the wireless data services marketplace by building the country's first and
only national high-speed wireless data network and is now reinforcing that network with an aggressive
expansion plan ," said John Palmer, president of Verizon Wireless' Upstate New York Region . "As the
industry leader in the high-speed wireless data market, this market addition broadens our commanding
lead and forms an even deeper 3G national network."

Verizon Wireless recently announced a flat-rate pricing plan for data-hungry customers. For $99.99 per
month with some restrictions, subscribers can download unlimited data on the Express Network.
Customers can also sign up for time-based usage plans, which begin at $35 monthly access for 150
minutes of connection and may be used for either voice or data calls, and $55 and $75 monthly access
plans include 400 and 600 minutes respectively. Verizon Wireless offers enterprise customers pricing
based on megabyte usage with rate plans starting at $35 monthly access for 10MB, $55 monthly access
for 20 MB, and $75 monthly access for 40 MB of data sent and received on the Express Network.
Equipment Choices
Verizon Wireless offers five equipment options to Express Networkcustomers. The Verizon Wireless
2235 handset from Kyocera, the VX1 by LG and the 9155-GPX from Audiovox, are each compact
wireless phone options with varied pricing and features. These wireless phones function as a modem
when used with a laptop and a compatible Mobile Office connectivity kit, sold separately, to access the
Express Network. The Thera is the newest Windows Powered Pocket PC that enables consumers to use
the same device to make voice calls, access the Express Network or Mobile Web. Thera, by Audiovox, is
also a dual-band wireless phone and a powerful mobile computing device that can access data on several
platforms. For customers who value the form factor of a PC card, the AirCard 555 from Sierra Wireless
can be used with laptops and select PDAs.
Express NetworkService Area
The Verizon Wireless Express Network- the only national high-speed wireless Internet access service- is
available to customers in the following areas:
• The Eastern seaboard, including other major Northeast regions: Norfolk, VA to Washington, DC, Baltimore,
Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, New Yoi'X, including Albany, Buffalo and Rochester, through to Boston in Portland, Maine:
and Burlington, waterbury and Montpelier in Vermont
• Midwest: Chicago, Illinois and Gary, Indiana, St. Louis; several locations throughout Ohio including: Columbus, Akron.

In the world of ever changing rings, someone has coined a new
idea. Why not set your vibration to the beat of your favorite song?
Of course!
SK Telecom is launching vibration ring-tones, applying Immersion 's
vibration technology, so that users can feel the beat of the
ringtones, announced the mobile operator on Monday. Telecoms
Korea reports.
"The first handset supporting SKT's new service is SCH-8450 of
Samsung Electronics.
Users will be able to control the intensity and the pattern of
vibration as well as set the type of vibration according to the
caller."
