On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 11th ISABC Symposium, it is my pleasure
to cordially invite you to participate in and to contribute to the next International
Symposium on Applied Bioinorganic Chemistry that will be held in Barcelona (Spain)
from 2 to 5 December, 2011. We hope you can help us to make this meeting a
stimulating and propelling experience at the forefront of the applied Bioinorganic
Chemistry.
The symposium will cover all aspects of the broad discipline of metals in diagnosis,
therapy and neurosciences, their environmental and toxicological aspects and related
metabolic diseases, as well as biomaterials and mimetics of metalloproteins. The meeting
is designed to provide a maximum of scientific discussion and personal interactions. For

Coinciding with the International Year of Chemistry, we intend the symposium to be a
memorable event for all participants, not only because of its scientific program but also
because its exceptional venue: The Casa de Convalescència is in the heart of Barcelona,
very close to Gaudí’s famous Sagrada Família.
Internationally renowed speakers have confirmed their participation. Together with more
than 300 participants expected and your support, the 11th ISABC will promote the
contact between science and industry, giving more visibility to its applied aspects.
In the present document we show you the different options to collaborate with 11th
ISABC that may be of your interest; however we inform you that any other suggestions
to support the symposium will be welcome.

En nombre del Comité Organizador del 11º ISABC, me es grato invitarles cordialmente a
asistir y a contribuir al próximo Simposio Internacional de Química Bioinorgánica
Aplicada que se celebrará en Barcelona del 2 al 5 de Diciembre de 2011. Esperamos que
su participación nos ayude a hacer de esta reunión una experiencia estimulante y a la
vez propulsora de la aplicación de la Química Bioinorgánica a la resolución de los retos
más actuales.
El simposio abarcará una amplia visión del área de los metales en diagnóstico y terapia
médica, y en neurociencia, sus aspectos medioambientales y toxicológicos y las
enfermedades metabólicas relacionadas, así como sus aplicaciones en el estudio de
biomateriales y en modelos de metaloproteínas. El simposio está diseñado para promover
al máximo la discusión científica y la interacción personal. Para información adicional,

Coincidiendo con el Año Internacional de la Química, se pretende que el simposio sea un
evento memorable para todos los participantes, no sólo por su programa científico, sino
también por su excepcional ubicación. La Casa de Convalescència está en el corazón de
Barcelona, muy cerca de la bien conocida Sagrada Familia de Gaudí.
Ponentes de reconocido prestigio han confirmado su participación y junto con los más de
300 participantes que esperamos y vuestra colaboración, el 11º ISABC permitirá
promover las relaciones entre la ciencia y la industria dándole mayor visibilidad a su
carácter aplicado.
En el presente documento os mostramos las diferentes opciones de participación que
hemos considerado que pueden ser de vuestro interés; no obstante cualquier tipo de
contribución es bienvenida y si pensáis en otra modalidad, no dudéis en remitirnos
vuestras sugerencias.

If the exhibitor does not make the payments on time, the Technical Secretariat may
cancel the reservation of space and award it to another company, without being obligated
to return it to the amount paid for the space.
En caso de que el expositor no cumpla con los pagos y plazos establecidos, la Secretaría
Técnica podrá cancelar la reserva del espacio y adjudicarlo a otra empresa, sin estar ésta
obligada a la devolución de la cantidad abonada en concepto de reserva.

Cancellations must be sent in writing to the Congress Secretariat:
The organizers shall retain:
o 50% of the agreed package cost if the cancellation is made until 15 October,
2011
o 100% of the agreed package cost if the cancellation is made from 15 October,
2011
En caso de que el expositor cancele su participación, éste deberá notificarla por escrito
dirigido a la Secretaría Técnica.
Las condiciones de reembolso son las siguientes:
Las cancelaciones realizadas antes del 15 de Octubre de 2011, 50% del importe
total.
Las cancelaciones realizadas después del 15 de Octubre de 2011, no habrá
devolución.
Exhibitor’s Manual / Manual Técnico:
Each exhibitor will receive a technical Exhibitors’ Manual in September 2011, including
detailed information on build-up and dismantling times, various additional facilities and
services.
Los expositores recibirán, en Septiembre de 2011, el Manual Técnico en el que se incluirá
toda la información detallada, normas de participación, horarios de montaje,
instrucciones para el alquiler de material, entre otros.
Allocation of Exhibition Space / Asignación de Espacios:
Space allocation will be made on a first come first served basis, according to the
order in which application forms with payment are received. A completed application
form accompanied by advance payment should be mailed or faxed to ensure reservation.
Upon receipt of the application form with payment, space will be confirmed and an
invoice for the balance due will be mailed.
La asignación de espacios en la Exposición Comercial se hará por riguroso orden de
llegada del acuerdo correspondiente y del pago del 50% en concepto de reserva a la
Secretaría Técnica. Una vez recibida su petición la Secretaría Técnica confirmará el
espacio de su elección que esté libre y solicitado en primer lugar.

5. Best Poster Award / Premio al Mejor Póster
Official sponsor of best poster Award presented during the 11th ISABC. Posters will be
evaluated by the scientific committee and the prize will be awarded at the closing
ceremony of the Symposium. The Award consists of an engraved plaque, including the
logo of the company and € 600,00 for the author who receives the award. Include also
visibility on the conference web page and on the final programme.

10. Satellite Symposium / Simposio Satélite
With the prior approval of the Scientific Committee of the Symposium you can organise a
scientific session when the Symposium oral sessions finish: (from 18:00 h to 19.00 and
during poster sessions) on the 3rd and 4th December in order to present your products
and studies. Maximum length: one hour in one of the official symposium rooms. Includes
room rental, audiovisual, hostess service, possibility to contact once with all symposium
attendees (via e-mail and through the Technical Secretariat) to disseminate the Satellite
Symposium, visibility on the website of the conference and in the final program.
Cost: 800,00 € (Exc. VAT)
Con la autorización previa del Comité Científico del Simposio se puede organizar una
sesión científica al finalizar las sesiones orales del mismo (de 18.00 a 19:00 h y durante
las sesiones de posters) los días 3 y 4 de Diciembre, con el fin de exponer sus productos
y estudios. Duración máxima de una hora en una de las salas oficiales del Simposio.
Incluye alquiler de la sala, audiovisuales y servicio de azafata, posibilidad de contactar,
de una vez, con todos los asistentes al Simposio (mediante correo electrónico y a través
de la Secretaría Técnica) para difundir la celebración del Simposio satélite, visibilidad en
la página web de la conferencia y en el programa final.
