Care and Cleaning Granite Kitchen Sinks CAUTION: DO NOT USE ABRASIVE CLEANERS SUCH AS COMET, AJAX, SOFT SCRUB, SOS BRILLO OR OTHER SIMILAR MTAL SCOURING PAGS. YOU SHOULD NOT USE BLEACH OR ALKALI CLEANERS SUCH AS AMMONIA! Wash your sink using warm water and a soft cloth, sponge or Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. You can use non‐abrasive liquid cleaners and detergents as often as you use the sink. Hard water, calcium and lime deposits can be removed with white vinegar on a paper towel rinsing after 20 minutes. To remove discoloration, restore the luster, provide a seal between the sink and outside elements, or to help make cleaning easier and allow you to go longer between cleanings, Weiman’s Granite Polish is recommended. Food based stains can be removed using a 50/50 bleach and water solution and soaking for 15 minutes. For rust or other mineral based stains, use products such as Lime‐A‐Way, Rust‐Out or Whink.
