PIEGA The Company
Even after more than twenty years since the founding of our company PIEGA, we
have still kept our passion for building loudspeakers for discerning audiophiles. We
have held true to our core expertise and our specialties, the LDR (Linear Drive
Ribbon) tweeter, the coaxial ribbon system and the seamless aluminum cabinet
have now become synonymous amongst specialists with audio excellence. This
has encouraged our developers to constantly find new technologies for perfect
sound reproduction with innovations that get one step closer to the original.
However, as well as an eagerness to innovate, our company also has constancy as
an important cornerstone. For us, this constancy means working together with
long-standing employees, preserving our know-how, creating timelessly beautiful
products, purchasing our raw materials and parts from reliable and fair suppliers,
maintaining business relationships with reputable partners, and having an open ear
for our customers, even after several years. Naturally the human factor is of
central importance. In the old industrial buildings directly on the lake in Horgen and
on the banks of the same lake in Wädenswil is where our sound systems have
always been created by hand from A-Z in an environment of humanity and craftsmanship. From the entry level loudspeaker up to the top model, every one passes
through several hands until it reaches the gates of our factory – tested, registered
and carefully packed, to offer an abundance of pleasure and a high level of listening
enjoyment even after several years.
Flashback:
With the founding of the company in 1986, fresh ideas and the use of progressive
materials enabled us to develop an absolutely new ribbon tweeter (Linear Drive
Ribbon) to the ultimate of technical perfection. From this we were able to further
develop the LDR II tweeter and the LDR midrange system.
In 2000 we managed to take a quantum leap with the development of the world‘s
first coaxial ribbon system. For more information on this see “Technology and
Products”.
Design: However, our products are designed not only to please the ear but also the
eye. For years the well-known Swiss designer, Hannes Wettstein, has been
responsible for the design of our loudspeakers.
Aluminum cabinets: We are the first high-end manufacturer to build our sound
systems in seamless aluminum cabinets and thus set new standards in aesthetic
and technological design.

PIEGA Technology and Products
After the development of the ribbon tweeter the quest for even higher levels of audio
perfection continued and was rewarded in 2000 with the development of the first
coaxial ribbon system. The bar for quality in the loudspeaker market was raised once
more. We managed to combine tweeter and midrange in one unit and thus to form
one acoustic center. For the listener this means absolutely no interference and the
highest level of sound quality. A pity that we can‘t offer you a sound test at this point.
You would be delighted – unadulterated musical enjoyment. The coaxial ribbon
systems are built by our specialists with hours of painstaking craftsmanship in
precisely maintained climatic conditions at our factory in Horgen and thoroughly
tested. When it comes to quality, we leave nothing to chance.
New ways were also developed for the design of loudspeaker cabinets. The extruded aluminum cabinets are PIEGA innovations, finished to perfection with optimum
damping without any intrinsic sound.
Have you noticed the unique geometry of the individual series? Each of the new
shapes – trapezoidal, semi elliptical and C-shaped – offer individual acoustic properties and stand out for their interesting volume response. In one thing, however, there
is no difference between the series. All offer the same high level of quality. Most of
our standard products are finished in high quality aluminum. A black front grill is
included in the delivery as a cover in order to protect parts that are sensitive to
contact. Optional silver coverings are also available. Useful accessories such as
stands, cables and wall brackets are also offered on our website.
In this catalogue we are pleased to present three new products. After nearly ten
years, our previous flagship, the C 40, now has to transfer its leadership to the new
CL 120 X. At this point we can already assure you that it’s a powerful successor.
Kurt Scheuch and his team set about meeting the demand for “smaller and better”.
The result is a slim-line, elegant floor-standing loudspeaker with a coaxial midrange
tweeter ribbon. The minimum volume for a floor-standing loudspeaker of this quality
is compensated for by means of the coaxial ribbon system, the special bass chassis
and a recently developed frequency crossover. The third new product is a powerful
subwoofer, and more information on this is provided in the products section.
However, all new developments have the following top priority: the authentic and
highly resolved reproduction of each individual tone. Regardless of whether the
recordings were produced in the concert, in the recording studio or on the lawn, we
demand from our loudspeakers the highest audio quality, absolute resonance
freedom and unbeatable frequency linearity, and above all one thing – “music”.
Therefore don‘t be astonished if the imperfections of some well-known musical
greats are mercilessly exposed.
PIEGA CL Series
Reference floor-standing loudspeaker with coaxial ribbon system
CL 120 X
The new CL 120 X is now available to succeed the legendary and widely acclaimed
C 40. Not a simple task many might think, and rightly so. There has probably never
been so much effort invested in the fine tuning of this new speaker. Thanks to
advancements in several areas, the “newcomer” doesn‘t need to be afraid of
comparison – on the contrary.
Like its predecessor, the CL 120 X comes with a C1 large coaxial ribbon system, an
elegant design and breathtaking sound quality. Improvements were made in
efficiency for even simpler operation of the amplifiers, in the high speed bass and in
the resonance free cabinet. We are convinced that the CL 120 X will become one of
the greats. The performance in terms of quality and quantity is considerable, and
friends of “live” sound will get their money‘s worth with this new model. The high
class loudspeaker comes in the further reinforced and therefore resonance-free
aluminum cabinet, which provides the required space for the music, both with quiet
sounds and with high orchestral volume. Naturally, the CL 120 X is 100% hand
crafted by us in our Horgen workshops, where it is also fine tuned, so that each
piece is a unique item fitted with components of the optimum quality. All employees at PIEGA are aware of their responsibility to maintain the exclusivity of this
loudspeaker and focus all their abilities in ensuring that the CL 120 X reaches the
new owner in perfect condition. In order to also meet external aesthetic requirements, the new loudspeaker is crafted in silver or black anodized aluminum, or an
elegant piano finish.
The CL 120 X guarantees the pinnacle of musical enjoyment, and even long
forgotten treasures of a private music collection are brought to life.
Reference floor-standing loudspeaker with coaxial ribbon system
CL 90 X
Fascinating sound quality free of interference, from the lowest ultra-precise bass to
the cleanest midrange and tweeter, thus bringing visual and acoustic elegance and
harmony.
Perfect sound quality is produced from the combination of a high-speed MOM
(Magnetic Optimized Motor) bass chassis and coaxial midrange tweeter system,
since C2 coaxial ribbon system offers, in the X, Y axes and the Z axis, the same
point as the acoustic center so that all frequencies are transferred at the same time.
The aluminum cabinet with its sophisticated damping is free of intrinsic sound. The
sound produced is only radiated from the membranes and offers an astounding level
of clarity and purity, thus producing a musical experience that delights the listener
with all its subtleties.
All you need to do is to put on your favorite music, close your eyes and savor the
wonderful sound range of the CL 90 X.

Reference floor-standing loudspeaker with coaxial ribbon system
TC 70 X
The TC 70 X is equipped with superfast MOM® technology (Magnetic Optimized
Motor) bass chassis. The increased transient properties of the bass loudspeakers harmonize perfectly with our fast coaxial ribbon system, and the seamless aluminum
cabinet pressed from one block provides the technological basis for a resonance free
loudspeaker housing. The outstanding qualities of the coaxial ribbon system go
without saying. The audio press worldwide has proclaimed it a milestone in loudspeaker construction. The qualities of the accurately designed frequency crossover
are also naturally first class.
This all together results in an exciting musical experience with a naturalness to stir all
the emotions.
Top class floor-standing loudspeaker with ribbon tweeter
TC 50
The elegant TC 50 floor-standing trapezoidal loudspeaker comes with the same
MOM® technology in the bass range and the same uncompromising housing as
the high-end model TC 70 X. The tweeter system used is the legendary LDR II
ribbon tweeter, which has been well-established for 15 years, and which still today
represents the “state of the art”, ensures an elegant and highly resolved sound.
Regardless of whether you are playing loud or soft music, large symphonic works
or the intimate music of a jazz trio, the TC 50 offers outstanding sound quality
with every musical direction for even discerning audiophiles.
Slime-line reference column loudspeaker with coaxial ribbon system
TC 30 X
The TC 30 X rounds off the TC range perfectly and fulfills every wish in this category.
The loudspeaker with the modest dimensions fits in every room, and it has a fine
and discrete presence even in small spaces. However, in no way is its performance
small-scale, and the TC 30 X offers optimum purity with extensive musicality. Two
MOM® bass woofers ensure an incredibly full sound in the bass range. Like all X
models, the TC 30 X is equipped with the coaxial ribbon system which means that
the acoustic center of midrange and tweeter excludes any disturbing interference.

Reference compact loudspeaker with coaxial ribbon system
TC 10 X
A compact loudspeaker in terms of dimensions. In terms of technology, however, a
top performer with all the special features of the TC 70 X: The new powerful bass
chassis with MOM® technology and the unique coaxial ribbon system. A big sound
from a small cabinet – the TC 10 X turns this wish into reality. In combination with a
subwoofer like the PS 2 this speaker allows you to create a system that will leave

TP 7
An attractive 160 cm column loudspeaker extravagantly equipped with state-of-the-art
technology. Four new bass chassis with MDS® technology (Maximum Displacement
Suspension) are used in the low frequency range. The midrange sound is accurately
reproduced by the new MDS® midrange speakers and the fine silky quality of the
LDR ribbon tweeter offers an outstanding treble range. With all these technical

TP 5 S (Small)
The 102 cm high aluminum housing with its trapezoidal design not only stands out
on account of its sleek and elegant looks but also due to the incredibly full sound for

equipped with the legendary PIEGA ribbon tweeter, a guarantee for pure unerring

TS 5

Compact loudspeaker in the upper medium quality range
TS 3
This satellite loudspeaker is a standard setter in its class. Thanks to the unique MDS®
technology (Maximum Displacement Suspension) and the same special design
features as the TS 5, this small loudspeaker punches well above its size. The TS 3 is
fully capable of use as a stand-alone music system in spite of its modest dimensions.

The center speaker for the TS Series
TS 4 C
When used in combination with the TS 5 and TS 3, the TS 4 C center loudspeaker

to its symmetrical radiation properties, the TS 4 C offers excellent use as a rear

The uncompromising subwoofer
PS 2
A PS subwoofer is essential for hearing the really deep groove and fully appreciating the entire bass range. It offers tremendous performance both in home cinemas
and in stereo systems. The newly developed PS 2 offers superb bass range
performance for your favorite music or cinema experience.
The active subwoofer with its lateral sound radiation has now been provided with
even faster chassis. The extensive setting options fulfill every wish and enable the
bass range to be fine tuned and adjusted for any room size and condition. Adaptions were also made to its looks. The corners now come with the more contemporary larger radii, although, despite its small outer dimensions, the PS 2 still
outputs the full bass range with a fascinating authenticity, precision and dynamics
and improves the sound quality in virtually all loudspeaker combinations.
The compact subwoofer
PS 1
Outstanding bass performance, slightly smaller than the model PS 2, but with a
bass that’s almost as powerful. The solid and precise bass delivery of the PS 1

PIEGA‘s state-of-the-art OPUS 1 four-core loudspeaker cable
combines copper of the highest purity with a special crystalline structure and perfect insulation. The ideal connection to
the CL 120 X, CL 90 X and PIEGA‘s other top class loudspeakers with a coaxial ribbon system. The OPUS 3 cable is
also an alternative. A top quality copper cable with two high
purity copper conductors and shielded with a braid of the
purest fine quality copper. Fits perfectly with the legendary
PIEGA ribbon tweeter. Whatever the case, the OPUS cables
are the key to optimizing your hi-fi system.
The PIEGA Spikes
Spikes are used for absorbing interfering frequencies. They
enable fine acoustic nuances to be audible immediately whilst
preventing interference from microvibrations.
