ALL-WHEEL DRIVE
OR REAR-WHEEL DRIVE
REAR-WHEEL DRIVE
SAFETY
COMMON ADVANCED SAFETY TECHNOLOGY
(ACCIDENT AVOIDANCE)
• 4-Wheel Disc Brakes with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS):
4-sensor, 4-channel system provides the ability to brake
and steer:
o Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) keeps the braking
smooth and level
o Brake Assist monitors brake pedal pressure and provides
maximum braking force when a panic stop is detected
• Electronic Stability Control (ESC): Keeps the vehicle on the
intended path
• Traction Control System (TCS): Helps maintains traction,
when needed
• Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS): Monitors tire pressure
and alerts the driver when tire pressure on one or more tires
is low
• Visibility Feature: Rain-sensing wipers
COMMON PASSIVE ADVANCED SAFETY
(IN CASE OF ACCIDENT)
• Nine Airbags:
o Advanced dual front airbags, front and rear seat-mounted
side-impact airbags, driver knee airbag, roof-mounted sidecurtain airbags
o Seatbelt pretensioners take the slack out of seatbelts in the
event of a certain collision
o Anti-whiplash front head restraints

SAFETY
ADDITIONAL SAFETY FEATURES
(OPTIONAL ON 3.8, STANDARD ON 5.0)
• Automatic Emergency Braking: A Hyundai first, Genesis
employs automatic braking
when it detects a slower or
stopped vehicle ahead; this
system utilizes the Smart
Cruise Control system (radar)
as well as the camera from
the Lane Keep Assist
• Haptic Steering Warning System: A Hyundai first, turned on or
off by Lane Keep Assist and Blind Spot Detection switch; alerts
drivers with a vibration through the steering wheel due to
inadvertent lane departure or blind spot detection with turn
signal
• Lane Departure Warning (LDW): Monitors both broken and
solid lanes on the highway using a camera mounted near the
interior mirror; at speeds above 40 mph, LDW alerts the driver
when the vehicle leaves the lane without using the turn signal
by “vibrating” the steering wheel and
providing an audio and visual warning:
o Bad weather and skid marks on the
road may cause a false indicator
o System can be turned on or off
with a switch
• Lane Keep Assist (LKA): Detects lane
departure and applies slight corrective steering measures to
keep the vehicle from drifting out of lane; provides haptic
feedback through steering wheel vibration when the vehicle
departs the lane:
o Driver can set the steering assistance level to pre or post
lane departure
• Blind Spot Detection (BSD): Detects
vehicles in the driver’s blind spot;
provides the driver with an audio
and visual alert when an obstruction
is detected:
o A visual alert can also be displayed
on vehicles equipped with Heads-up
Display (segment first)
• Rear Cross-Traffic Alert: Detects vehicles
in the rear cross path and alerts the driver
when an obstruction is detected
• Lane Change Assist: Provides a warning
of a vehicle that is rapidly approaching
from the rear
4
• Smart Cruise Control: Radar-assisted, automatically maintains a
preset distance between vehicles at a pre-selected speed; SCC
operates like regular cruise control when there are no other
vehicles in front:
o When there is another vehicle in front, SCC engages the
brakes automatically and slows the vehicle to maintain speed
with the vehicle in front while retaining the preset distance
o The driver can select one of four distance settings
o Includes Stop/Start Function: When
activated, Genesis will automatically
come to a complete stop when the
vehicle ahead stops—the driver does
not need to engage the brake:
- The vehicle will then restart
automatically if the vehicle ahead
starts within 3 seconds
- After 3 seconds, the Genesis can
resume speed by tapping the accelerator pedal or
pressing the Resume button on the steering wheel
• High-Intensity Discharge (HID) Headlights: With LED turn
signal indicators; more effectively illuminate the road at night;
includes:
o Auto-leveling and automatic headlights steering angle
sensors for added illumination of the road
o High Beam Assist: Automatically switches from high to low
beams when an oncoming vehicle is detected or when
approaching another vehicle
• Electronic Parking Brake (EPB): Replaces hand or foot pedal
parking brake; EPB releases when the transmission is shifted out
of Park:
o Automatic Vehicle Hold: Assists the driver at a stop by
holding the vehicle on an incline or decline; releases when
the accelerator is applied
• Front and Rear Parking Assist System: Sensors in the front and
rear bumpers assist as the driver parks the Genesis
• Dual Power-Folding Heated Side Mirrors: With turn signal
indicators and approach lamps; can be operated by the interior
door-mounted switch or with the Proximity Key lock and unlock
buttons
o Auto-Dimming Side Mirrors

…after seeing and driving the all-new 2015 Hyundai Genesis,
we’re here to tell you that the Genesis is as regal, swift, quiet, and
comfortable as nearly all of the best mid-size luxury cars out there.
In other words, it’s the real luxury deal. Believe it.
Knowing the Genesis faces off with the Lexus GS, Acura RLX, and
the aforementioned luxury German and American luxury sedans,
Hyundai crafted a world class cabin with the best materials we’ve
ever seen from the company.
Perhaps the most intriguing feature is the automatic trunk opening.
It sounds more like a gimmick than anything else but it’s certainly
something your neighbor is going to show you if he buys a Genesis.
Just walk up to the back of the car, wait to hear four beeps and the
trunk opens. No foot waving or button pushing, it just opens like it is
reading your mind. Very cool.
