How to Set a VCR Clock
WHEN CURRENT CLOCK SETTING BLINKS 12:00
INTRODUCTION
Today, what people once thought was advanced technology, is becoming obsolete. It is difficult to find parts and
even information for those certain “old” technological instruments. VCRs are considered nearly obsolete due to
the invention of DVD and Blu-Ray players, yet several Americans still use VCRs. When people encounter simple
difficulties with their VCR, it may be difficult to find information about correcting the problem. This guide will
help you reset your VCR clock when it is blinking “12:00.” Follow the basic directions if your VCR manual is not
available. Before you begin, be sure that the VCR is connected to the TV.
CONNECTING VCR TO TV
For Steps 1 and 2, See FIGURE 1 Below

Locate AV Cables(Red,Yellow,White)

Connect AV Cables to back of the TV by inserting plugs into corresponding color outlet

Turn on TV
Turn on VCR
Locate VCR Remote and push the “MENU” button
Scan the VCR Menu for “Clock Settings,” “Time/Date Settings,” or “Time Settings” and press the
“Select/OK” button on the VCR Remote
You will see a new menu that should give you a “Set Clock” or “Set the Time” option. Select that option
by pressing the “Select/OK” button.
Depending on the type of VCR, you should be able to set the time by typing the actual numerals or
pressing the “up/down” arrows provided by the menu or remote
