contents in ODIA language. This means, you will be able to do simple
tasks such as writing email text in ODIA, create short stories, write
articles, prepare a report, create a office notice, etc in ODIA language.
This typing software works with most of the common applications in

problem / issue while porting/ taking this data to other applications.
The layout supported by this software is ENHANCED INSCRIPT
KEYBOARD. With the help of this tool, user will be able to type in any of
the 22 scheduled Indian languages. User has to select "Language" and
"Script Key" before typing. Script Key is a special key which is used for
switching typing between English and One Indian language. By default
CapsLock is used as Script Key. The user can also choose from Scroll
Lock and NumLock keys
31
Some of the features of this software are as follows:

A.3. ODIA VERSION OF LIBRE OFFICE (OFFICE SOFTWARE)
Libre office is a Free and open source office software like any other
commercially available office softwares. It has components for Word
Processing (WRITER), Spreadsheet Application (CALC), Presentation
software (IMPRESS), Database application (BASE), Drawing software
(DRAW),and Application for creating mathematical formulae (MATH).
The advantages of why one should use or switch to Libre office are as
follows:
1. The entire menus, Messages and other GUI components
are available in Indian languages.
33
2. User can export the files as .PDF with a single button click.

worldwide.
4. It's free – no worry about license costs or annual fees.

worries. It is distributed under LGPL public license.
7. Simple-to-use yet powerful interface that is easy to
personalize
8. Compatible with all major competitors' file formats. You can
easily import files from Microsoft Word, Excel and
PowerPoint and many other formats, and can easily save to
Microsoft Office and other formats when needed.
What does Libre Office give you?
Writer is the word processor inside LibreOffice. Use it for everything,
from dashing off a quick letter to producing an entire book with tables
of contents, embedded illustrations, bibliographies and diagrams. The
while-you-type auto-completion, auto-formatting and automatic
spelling checking make difficult tasks easy (but are easy to disable if you
prefer). Writer is powerful enough to tackle desktop publishing tasks
such as creating multi-column newsletters and brochures. The only
34
limit is your imagination.
Calc tames your numbers and helps with difficult decisions when
you're weighing the alternatives. Analyze your data with Calc and then
use it to present your final output. Charts and analysis tools help bring
transparency to your conclusions. A fully-integrated help system
makes easier work of entering complex formulas. Add data from
external databases such as SQL or Oracle, then sort and filter them to
produce statistical analyses. Use the graphing functions to display
large number of 2D and 3D graphics from 13 categories, including line,
area, bar, pie, X-Y, and net – with the dozens of variations available,
you're sure to find one that suits your project.
Impress is the fastest and easiest way to create effective multimedia
presentations. Stunning animation and sensational special effects help
35
you convince your audience. Create presentations that look even more
professional than the standard presentations you commonly see at
work. Get your collegues' and bosses' attention by creating something
a little bit different.
Draw lets you build diagrams and sketches from scratch. A picture is
worth a thousand words, so why not try something simple with box and
line diagrams? Or else go further and easily build dynamic 3D
illustrations and special effects. It's as simple or as powerful as you want
it to be.
Base is the database front-end of the LibreOffice suite. With Base, you
can seamlessly integrate your existing database structures into the
other components of LibreOffice, or create an interface to use and
administer your data as a stand-alone application. You can use
36
imported and linked tables and queries from MySQL, PostgreSQL or
Microsoft Access and many other data sources, or design your own
with Base, to build powerful front-ends with sophisticated forms,
reports and views. Support is built-in or easily addable for a very wide
range of database products, notably the standardly-provided HSQL,
MySQL, Adabas D, Microsoft Access and PostgreSQL.
Math is a simple equation editor that lets you lay-out and display your
mathematical, chemical, electrical or scientific equations quickly in
standard written notation. Even the most-complex calculations can be
understandable when displayed correctly. E=mc2.
LibreOffice also comes configured with a PDF file creator, meaning you
can distribute documents that you're sure can be opened and read by
users of almost any computing device or operating system.

INTEGRATED INSTALLERS
Desktop Tools
Desktop tools contain the two setups Libreoffice 3.6 and OT
typing tool. Out of which Libreoffice 3.6 will be installed first and

case if user wants the support more than two language then
user has two maintain the installers of all the languages
suppose 11 then 11 plus one English i. e. 12 installers has to
be present at the user side which is overhead. But now
48
single installer is created for all the languages are created.
The process of installation has also been changed.

55
Internet Tools:
On clicking internet tools exe it will install Mozilla Firefox,
Mozilla Thunderbird and Pidgin.
56
Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird:
In previous version of language CD we have given
Mozilla Firefox 6.0 and Thunderbird 6.0. IN new CD we are giving
Mozilla Firefox 14.0 and Mozilla Thunderbird 14.0.The installers
for both the software’s are same. Both the products are from
Mozilla family. Because of which localization process and internal
architecture of the both products is same. We are giving both the
software integrated in Internet Tools exe along with pidgin.
Installer for every language is different. There will be only one
Indian language localized Firefox and Thunderbird will be present
in the system along with English. User can switch from English to
Indian language and vice-versa. Mozilla Firefox 14.0 and Mozilla
Thunderbird 14.0 contain omni.jar which contains all the localized
files. IN this omni.jar only one language can be present along with
one English language. If we try to maintain the language pack
type of solution there are so many disadvantages out of which
some are mentioned below.
1. Size of omni.jar will be very large for Firefox. If we add
the size of the thunderbird to it the size of internet tools
57
will be increased automatically. In this case the size on
this disk will increase.
2. The problem in switching will occur at the time of
switching from one language to another. As the
mnemonics used in quick local switcher along with
Firefox and thunderbird conflicts.
3. There is no way to recognize which language was already
installed. The omni.jar gets replaced by the new
omni.jar. Also there is no entry of omni.jar is present in
the system registry.
By default the installed Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla
Thunderbird will be opened in Indian language localized
version. So to change the UI to English Quick Locale Switcher
extension is provided. You have to enable the Quick locale
switcher for switching the locales.
First go to Tools menu as shown below then click on Add-ons
58
Following Screen will appear. You can see that Quick Locale
Switcher is disabled.
59
Click on Enable button which will enable the locale switcher then
browser will ask for restart. Please restart the browser. After
enabling the option of Quick Locale switcher will be shown as
follows.
60
After enabling the locale switcher one more option will be get
added on tools menu as follows. Here you can see that Quick
locale switcher option is added in tools menu and in second circle
you can also see the option for changing the language from
English to Hindi.
61
These all steps are same for Mozilla Thunderbird for enabling and
using the Quick Locale Switcher. Along with quick locale switcher
one more extension is also integrated that is lightning which used
as calendar for planning. Which same as Quick Locale Switcher
are needs to be enabled. The lightning-1.6-sm+tb-windowscdac.xpi will be copied on your desktop while you install the
Internet tools exe. Now we need to install this XPI in Mozilla
62
Firefox. Go to tools menu and then go to add-ons as shown in
below image.
The following window will appear after above step. Then click on
the image of circle as shown in below image this will open a new
drop-down menu from that option select Install Add-on from file.
63
Then following dialog box will open then go to desktop and select
the lightning-1.6-sm+tb-windows-cdac.xpi and click on open.
64
After this thunderbird will ask you for installation of lightning-1.6sm+tb-windows-cdac.xpi click on install button as shown below.
65
After this following window will appear which will ask you for
restart of Mozilla thunderbird. Then click on Restart Now button
66
Circled in green as shown in below figure.
Now after restart calendar is added as follows.
67
You can see the small circle in the right side of the window if we
click on the first option of the above circle following windows will
appear.
68
On click on second option following window will appear.
69
Now your calendar is fully installed you can now use it.
Pidgin:
Pidgin is a chat client. The version of pidgin which is
used for localization is 2.10.0. In case of pidgin localization the
Indian language localized version runs on top of English language.
English language pidgin installation is mandatory. If user
uninstalls the English language pidgin and try to run the Indian
70
language version it won’t run. Internet tools exe will first install
the English language pidgin and then Indian language exe. In case
of pidgin there will multiple Indian language can co-exist. On
desktop there will more than one Indian language icon can be
present and all be invoked. But, you have to remember that you
should close the running instance of pidgin from tray icon. As you
can see in the below images there will be as many icons as users
has installed the languages on hi system. As well as in start
program menu there you can see the pidgin language pack option

which are Gnucash, Inkscape, Tuxpaint and Joomla. When you
install the Utilities software it will give you four options to choose
from these four set of software’s as shown in below figure.
74
As you can see in above image you can check and uncheck any
option whichever you want. The option which you will check will
be installed and which you uncheck will not be installed.
In case of all above software’s localized Indian language localized
version runs on top of English language. There should be English
language version of above software should be installed in the
system. If you want to use the Tuxpaint of Hindi then Tuxpaint for
English should be already installed. All this has been taken care of
in Utilities installer itself. If user uninstalls the English language
Tuxpaint and try to run the Indian language version it won’t run.
Utilities will first install the English language Tuxpaint and then
Indian language Tuxpaint. In case of Tuxpaint there will multiple
Indian language can co-exist. On desktop there will more than
one Indian language icon can be present and all be invoked. As
you can see in the below images there will be as many icons as
users has installed the languages on his system. As well as in start
program menu there you can see the Tuxpaint language pack
75
option in second circle and Tuxpaint shortcut to run the Indian
language pidgin. This applies to Gnucash, Tuxpaint and Inkscape.
The following images give the glimpse of what you will get after
installing suppose two Indian language Tuxapint, Gnucash and
Inkscape.
76
As well as in start program menu there you can see the language
pack option of Gnucash, Tuxpaint and Inkscape tools which circle
in below image these are shortcut to run the Indian language
