It is pointed at one end to allow easy insertion in to belt loops on your clothing and has an outer Velcro layer which not only affixes it to the outer belt but also prevents it snagging on car seats or other clothing when worn separately. Outer Belt The belt has a fibre reinforced polymer core covered in a tough web nylon outer. This is what gives it the exceptional stiffness as well as being slighter thicker than most belts. This belt being slightly thicker than most belts does make it a little harder to thread holsters and pouches. The belt was designed this way to ensure gear attached to the belt will sit firmly in place and not rock or slide about (all types of gear will still fit). Important - How to Select the correct belt size 1. Measure Your Waist - Do not rely on your pant size. Measure your waist where your belt will go and make a note of it. 2. Add Overlap length - We recomend an overlap of between 18-25cm (smaller sizes add 18cm, larger sizes add 25cm). 3. Overall Length - Add your measured waist size to the required overlap and then select the Overall Length. The Inner Belt and Security Loop can also be purchased separately if you require replacements. DAA Competition Belt and the DAA PRO Belt, what's the functional difference? The DAA Competition Belt is very stiff and this is probably the most important feature of an IPSC Belt. Having a stable platform for both your holster and your magazine pouches etc is essential. Compared to the DAA Competition Belt, this belt is a higher quality belt, which is less rigid, narrower and thinner. A big bonus with this belt is that you can now insert your contact details into the name tag holder and clearly identify your rig as your own. Secondly to achieve this stiffness DAA made the belt slightly thicker and slightly wider than most of IPSC belts.This means fitting other manufactures gear which is required to be threaded onto the belt quite difficult (although achievable). The DAA PRO Belt is slightly thinner and narrower than the DAA Competition Belt and is more attuned to the dimensions of other manufacturer’s IPSC 1.5” belts. This makes threading on other manufacture’s gear much easier and the belt more comfortable to wear. The DAA PRO Belt is still a stiff belt and is just a little bit stiffer than the CR Speed High Torque Belt. Summary If you want an exceptionally stiff belt for high performance in competition (particularly when on the move) then the DAA Competition Belt is the way to go. If you want a sleeker more comfortable belt and/or looking at using non DAA Holsters & Magazine Pouches then the DAA PRO Belt may well be the way to go. An extra new inner belt is often a handy thing to have. Many like to use them as regular belts, especially when travelling by air, as they do not "beep" in the x-ray machines. This inner belt is identical to that supplying when purchasing a full inner/outer DAA Competition belt system. Available in Black only. How to select the correct belt size: Most pant manufacturers today "cheat" with their marked size. A size 36" pant should measure around the waist 91.5cm but most measure more. So before you order your DAA belt, take a tape measure and measure around your waist. Then check the chart of belt lengths shown above and select a belt which offers you about 18-25cm overlap. (longer than your measured waist size) For example: If you measure around your waist 86cm, you should choose a belt which is about 104-110cm Overall length, which would mean a DAA belt size 34". If you measure around your waist 98cm, you should choose a belt which is about 115-123cm Overall length, which would mean a DAA belt size 36 or 38"(38" would be the safer bet, a little long is always better than a little short).
