Responsible together. Let’s drive eco-friendly. Optimise your internal logistics with Toyota I_Site Toyota has always been a pioneer in environmentally-respectful technology. But technology alone is not enough. Eco-driving not only brings down costs by reducing fuel use, but also contributes to reduced carbon dioxide emissions, widely acknowledged as contributing to climate change. Just by changing the way they drive, * European drivers could cut CO2 exhaust emissions by 10% . *Source - Climact This may be stating the obvious but there might be many aspects of your operation that could be optimised to reduce the overall energy consumption of your forklift fleet. Toyota I_Site helps you to do just this, for example, by providing data to calculate the right number – and type – of trucks you need to reduce your overall energy consumption. Being a Toyota I_Site operation means your internal logistics processes will be continually assessed and analysed, allowing us to work with you to eliminate inefficiencies and drive down your costs. This not only means reduced costs for you, but also reduced impact on the environment. You could think of Toyota I_Site as a process of continuous improvement. At Toyota, we call it kaizen, and its part of what we do every day. Eco-driving with your car. Drive for tomorrow, today. Guide to Eco-driving Kg Eco-driving is an environmentally considerate way of driving that reduces CO2 emissions. If every driver made an effort to drive economically it would be a significant help in our efforts to prevent climate change. Eco-driving with your forklift. Guide to Eco-driving We all share concerns about energy costs and the environment. Small changes in the way you drive, staying up-to-date with maintenance, optimising internal logistics – all of these can reduce your CO2 emissions, as well as saving you money. Follow these tips to achieve the Kg greatest benefits from eco-driving: Kg Kg Keep your windows closed (use ventilation system when possible) Plan your route and avoid detours Kg Keep up-to-date with maintenance To maintain the forklift’s efficiency, get it services according to the manufacturer’s schedule. Kg Follow & anticipate the traffic flow Train your drivers Good training makes your drivers more aware of how to drive efficiently for example learn to approach a stacking destination correctly at the first attempt, avoiding unnecessary manoeuvring. Kg Remove any extra weight and roof load Avoid using your car for short journeys Kg Choose the right engine oil and air filter Make sure you use the correct specification of engine oil (refer to the service manual and advice from Toyota). Fluid levels should be checked every month and kept in line with manufacturer recommendations. Check the air filter – if clogged, fuel consumption will increase. Switch off your engine if you have to wait longer than 30-60 seconds And don’t start the engine until you are ready to go. Kg Kg Kg Kg Service your car according to owner’s manual Kg Kg Kg Check your tyre pressure regularly Kg Switch off your engine if you have to wait longer than 30-60 seconds Only use electrical accessories when necessary (e.g. A/C) Shift up gear earlier Drive considerately Don’t make sudden changes in speed. Maintain a steady pace within the limit of your premises. Drive smoothly, accelerate gently and read the road ahead to avoid unnecessary braking. Kg Choose the best tyres and check their condition frequently Under-inflated tyres increase fuel consumption and shorten life truck. Check tyres at least once a week. Pneumatic-shaped cushion tyres need to be replaced periodically. New tyres give better grip and are bigger, therefore requiring fewer revolutions to travel same distance, and lead to fuel savings. Decelerate smoothly When you have to slow down or stop, decelerate smoothly by releasing the accelerator in good time. Plan your wharehouse flow By optimising your warehouse flow, you gain time and fuel consumption to be more efficient.
