KINGSTON, FRONTENAC AND LENNOX & ADDINGTON PUBLIC HEALTH BY-LAW, POLICY & PROCEDURE MANUAL POLICY: PERSONNEL APPROVED BY: NUMBER: IV-525 DATE: 2014-03-26 PAGE: 1 of 1 TRANSPORTATION Purpose To provide a supportive environment in which employees will be encouraged to use active transportation (AT) and carpooling when feasible for commuting to work and while on duty. To protect, promote, and enhance the health of KFL&A Public Health employees and to set an example of a healthy workplace for all employers in the KFL&A area. Policy Where feasible, KFL&A Public Health shall support active transportation including public transit to get to work, and will provide end-of-trip facilities. Where feasible, KFL&A Public Health shall support employees who use active transportation to fulfill their workday travel while on duty from the office within the following limits of one-way: two kilometres for walking and eight kilometres for bicycling.
