When installing the machine and associated options as a system, follow the order shown on the upper.
Note:
• For the detailed installation procedures for each option, follow the instructions given in the corresponding
Installation Manual and perform the procedures correctly.
• Once the Power Switch is turned ON, do not turn OFF it until the installation work has been completed.
• Make available collective manpower of an appropriate size for transporting the machine. (Machine mass:
38 kg/83-3/4 lb)

2. Be sure to use a power source of the voltage and
frequency indicated in the product specifications.
Ensure that the current carrying capacity of the
power outlet is at least equal to the current listed
in the product specifications.

3. Power the machine directly from a dedicated
power outlet. (Do not use an extension cord.)
4. Do not plug or unplug the power cord with wet or
dirty hands, otherwise you may get an electric
shock.
5. Avoid a hot and humid environment, or a place
exposed to direct sunlight.
6. Avoid a dusty location, or a place near volatile
and flammable substances.
7. Avoid a poorly ventilated place.

1. Holding onto the portions shown in the illustration, remove the machine while maintaining a
level position.

VII. Loading the Starter
3. Remove the protective tape and the protective
parts of Image Transfer Roller.
Note:
There is a string that is wound around the Image
Transfer Roller shaft two to three times.
1. Open the Front Door.

4. Close the Right Door.
5. Remove the protective tape and the Scanner Fixing Pin.

3. Remove two screws and the Imaging Unit.

6. Affix the Seal (accessory) in the position as
show.

7. Remove the cover. (three screws)
4. Remove one screw at the location shown from
the front side of the Imaging Unit.
Loosen screw ➀.

8. Load the Imaging Unit with a packet of starter.
Note:
• Before pouring the starter, shake the packet
well.
• Rotate gear clockwise to add starter on mag
roller.

5. Remove two screws at the location shown from
the rear side of the Imaging Unit.
Loosen screw ➁.

6. Opening both ends of the Cleaning Assy, swing it
down toward the rear as illustrated.
Note:
Cover the PC Drum with a cloth or similar item.

9. Reinstall the cover. (three screws)

VIII. ATDC Sensor Adjustment
10. Return the Cleaning Assy pushed toward the
rear at step 6 to the original position.
Note:
Before reinstalling the Cleaning Assy, be sure to
place the connector and harness into the slit properly.
1. Turn ON the Power Switch.
2. Call the SERVICE MODE to the screen.
(See the Service Manual for how to call the SERVICE MODE to the screen.)

3. Press the ▼ key four times to shown the Function mode.
11. Fix Imaging Unit with the screws removed at
step 4 and 5.
12. Fully open the Right Door and slide the Imaging
Unit back into the machine.
Note:
When reinstalling the Imaging Unit, slowly push it
until you feel that the drum gear is blocked and
then slide it all the way toward the rear. Doing
these steps all at once could damage the drum
gear.

4. Press the Yes key.

14. Close the Right Door.
15. Plug the power cord in the machine.

IX. Installing the Toner Bottle
5. Press the ▼ key two times.
1. With the seal on the Toner Bottle facing up, slowly
peel off the seal as illustrated.
Note:
Slowly peel off seal, as some toner may puff out
from the bottle.

6. Press the Yes key.

2. Open the Front Door.
3. Swing open the Bottle Holder to the front and
position the Toner Bottle.
Note:
Make sure that the UP marking faces up.

7. After the ATDC Sensor adjustment procedure has
been completed, open the Front Door and enter
the ATDC level setting value displayed on the
screen in the Adjust Label.
(Adjustment time: 3 min.)

X. Loading Paper
5. Close the Bottle Holder and the Front Door.
1. Slide out the 1st Tray.

Do not load so much paper that the top of the
stack is higher than the ▼ mark.

XI. Mounting the Original Cover (Option
for bizhub 210 only)
4. Slide the Edge Guide and Trailing Edge Stop
against the edges of the paper stack.
Install the Original Cover.

Affix the size label to the 1st Tray.
