7. Mostoutletboxescommonlyusedforthesupportoflightingfixtures
arenotacceptableforfansupportandmayneedtobereplaced,
consultaqualifiedelectricianifindoubt.
UseonlyULListedoutletboxesmarked“FORFANSUPPORT”.
Theoutletboxandsupportstructuremustbesecurelymountedand
capableofreliablysupportingaminimumof50pounds.Useonly
thetwosteelscrews(andlockwashers)providedwiththeoutletbox
formountingtheceilingfantotheoutletboxTheoutletboxmust
nottwistorworkloose.DONOTUSEPLASTICOUTLETBOXES.
8. After marking electrical connections, spliced conductors should
be turned upward and pushed carefully up into outlet box. The
wiresshouldbespreadapartwiththegroundedconductorandthe
equipment-groundingconductorononesideoftheoutletbox.
9. Afterinstallationiscomplete,makesurethatallconnectionsare
securetopreventthefanfromfalling.Makesureallwireconnections
aresecure,andthattherearenoexposedconductorstrands.
10. Donotusewaterordetergentswhencleaningthefanorfanblades.
Adrydustclothorlightlydampenedclothwillbesuitableformost
cleaning.
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY, OBSERVE THE

1. To avoid motor bearing damage and noisy and/or unbalanced
impellers,keepdrywallspray,constructiondust,etc.offpowerunit.
2. The fan must be mounted with a minimum of 10 feet clearance
betweenfanbladesandfloor.
3. Makesurethatyourinstallationwillnotallowthefantocomeinto
contactwithanyadjacentobstaclessuchasdoors,hanginglamps,
etc.
4. Ifyouareinstallingmorethanoneceilingfan,donotmixtheblade
sets.
5. Donotbendthebladebrackets.
6. Donotinsertobjectsinbetweenrotatingfanblades.
7. Becarefulwhenworkingaroundorcleaningthefan.
8. Pleasereadspecificationlabelonproductforfurtherinformation
andrequirements.

Ifthereisn’tanexistingULlistedmountingbox,thenreadthefollowing
instructions. Disconnect the power by removing fuses or turning off
circuitbreakers.
Securetheoutletboxdirectlytothebuildingstructure.Useappropriate
fastenersandbuildingmaterials.Theoutletboxanditssupportmustbe
abletofullysupportthemovingweightofthefan(atleast50lbs).Do
notuseplasticoutletboxes.

1. Passthe120-voltsupplywiresthroughthecenterholeintheceiling
hangerbracketasshowninFig.5.

3. Removethehangerpin,lockingpinandsetscrewsfromthetopof
themotorassembly.

5. Aligntheholesatthebottomofthedownrodwiththeholesinthe
collarontopofthemotorhousing(Fig.6).Carefullyinsertthehanger
pinthroughtheholesinthecollaranddownrod.Becarefulnotto
jamthepinagainstthewiringinsidethedownrod.Insertthelocking
pinthroughtheholeneartheendofthehangerpinuntilitsnaps
intoitslockedposition,asnotedinthecircleinsetofFig.6.

Note:Adjustthecanopyscrewsasnecessaryuntilthecanopyand

Failure to properly seat tab in groove could cause damage to

OPERATION
Turnonthepowerandchecktheoperationofyourfan.
MAINTENANCE
IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF AT THE ELECTRICAL
PANEL BOX BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT ANY REPAIRS. REFER TO
THE SECTION “CONNECT WIRING”.
Becauseofthefan’snaturalmovement,someconnectionsmaybecome
loose.Checkthesupportconnections,brackets,andbladeattachments
twiceayear.Makesuretheyaresecure.(Itisnotnecessarytoremove
fanfromceiling.)
Cleanyourfanperiodicallytohelpmaintainitsnewappearanceover
theyears.Useonlyasoftbrushorlint-freeclothtoavoidscratching
thefinish.Theplatingissealedwithalacquertominimizediscoloration
ortarnishing.Donotusewaterwhencleaning.Thiscoulddamagethe
motor,orthewood,orpossiblycauseanelectricalshock.
You can apply a light coat of furniture polish to the wood blades for
additionalprotectionandenhancedbeauty.Coversmallscratcheswith
alightapplicationofshoepolish.
Thereisnoneedtooilyourfan.Themotorhaspermanentlylubricated
bearings.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Fan will not start.
1. Checkcircuitfusesorbreakers.
2. Checklinewireconnectionstothefanandswitchwireconnections
intheswitchhousing.CAUTION:Makesuremainpowerisoff.
Fan sounds noisy.
1. Makesureallmotorhousingscrewsaresnug.
2. Makesurethescrewsthatattachthefanbladebrackettothemotor
hubistight.
3. Makesurewirenutconnectionsarenotrubbingagainsteachother
ortheinteriorwalloftheswitchhousing.CAUTION:Makesuremain
powerisoff.
4. Allowa24-hour“breaking-in”period.Mostnoiseassociatedwitha
newfandisappearduringthistime.
5. Somefanmotorsaresensitivetosignalsfromsolid-statevariable
speedcontrols.Ifyouhaveinstalledthistypeofcontrol,chooseand
installanothertypeofcontrol.
6. Makesuretheuppercanopyisashortdistancefromtheceiling.It
shouldnottouchtheceiling.
Fan wobbles.
1. Checkthatallbladeandbladearmscrewsaresecure.
2. Most fan wobbling problems are caused when blade levels are
unequal.Checkthislevelbyselectingapointontheceilingabove
thetipofoneoftheblades.Measurethisdistance.Rotatethefan
untilthenextbladeispositionedformeasurement.Repeatforeach
blade.Thedistancedeviationshouldbeequalwithin1/8”.
3. UsetheenclosedBladeBalancingKitifthebladewobbleisstill
noticeable.
4. Ifthebladewobbleisstillnoticeable,interchangingtwoadjacent
(sidebyside)bladescanredistributetheweightandpossiblyresult
insmootheroperation.

LimitedWarranty
WARRANTY PERIOD: NuTonewarrantstotheoriginalconsumerpurchaserofitsNuToneCeilingFansandAccessorieswillbe
materiallyfreefromdefectsinmaterialsorworkmanshipforaperiodofone(1)yearfromthedateoforiginalpurchase.Thiswarranty
doesnotcoverglassglobesorlightbulbsprovidedwiththelightkits.
Thelimitedwarrantyperiodforreplacementparts,andforfansrepairedorreplacedunderthislimitedwarranty,shallcontinueforthe
remainderoftheoriginalwarrantyperiod.
NO OTHER WARRANTIES: THE FOREGOING WARRANTIES ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ANY OTHER WARRANTIES,
EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. NUTONE DISCLAIMS AND EXCLUDES ALL OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTIES, AND DISCLAIMS
AND EXCLUDES ALL WARRANTIES IMPLIED BY LAW, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THOSE OF MERCHANTABILITY
AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. TO THE EXTENT THAT APPLICABLE LAW PROHIBITS THE EXCLUSION OF
IMPLIED WARRANTIES, THE DURATION OF ANY APPLICABLE IMPLIED WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO THE PERIOD SPECIFIED

withoutcharge,anyfanorpart,totheextentNuTonefindsittobecoveredbyandinbreachofthislimitedwarranty.NuTonewillship
therepairedorreplacedfanorreplacementpartstoyouatnocharge.Youareresponsibleforallcostsforremoval,reinstallation
and shipping, insurance or other freight charges incurred in the shipment of the fan or part to NuTone. This warranty does not
cover (a) normal maintenance and service, (b) normal wear and tear, (c) any fans or parts which have been subject to misuse,
abuse,abnormalusage,negligence,accident,improperorinsufficientmaintenance,storageorrepair(otherthanrepairbyNuTone),
(d) damagecausedbyfaultyinstallation,orinstallationorusecontrarytorecommendationsorinstructions,(e)anyfanthathasbeen
movedfromitsoriginalpointofinstallation,(f) damagecausedbyenvironmentalornaturalelements,(g) damageintransit,(h) finish
onanymetalportionofthefanoraccessory,(i) fansincommercialornonresidentialuse,or(j) damagecausedbyfire,floodorother
actofGod.ThiswarrantycoversonlyfanssoldintheUnitedStatesorthroughU.S.distributorsauthorizedbyNuTone.
EXCLUSION OF DAMAGES: NUTONE’S OBLIGATION TO PROVIDE REPLACEMENT PARTS, OR REPAIR OR REPLACE, AT
NUTONE’S OPTION, SHALL BE YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY AND NUTONE’S
SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE OBLIGATION. NUTONE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL
OR SPECIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE FAN, ITS USE OR PERFORMANCE. Incidental
damagesincludebutarenotlimitedtosuchdamagesaslossoftimeandlossofuse.Consequentialdamagesincludebutarenot
limitedtothecostofrepairingorreplacingotherpropertywhichwasdamagedifthefandoesnotworkproperly.

AnyassistanceNuToneprovidestoorprocuresforyououtsidetheterms,limitationsorexclusionsofthislimitedwarrantywillnot
constituteawaiverofsuchterms,limitationsorexclusions,norwillsuchassistanceextendorrevivethewarranty.
NuTonewillnotreimburseyouforanyexpensesincurredbyyouinrepairingorreplacinganydefectiveFan,exceptforthoseincurred
withNuTone’spriorwrittenpermission.

Nota: Probablemente necesite una barra descendente más larga para

TERMINACIÓN DE LA
INSTALACIÓN
1. Introduzcalasconexionesdeformaordenadaenlacajadedistribución
deltecho.
2. Deslice hacia arriba la carcasa al soporte de manera y asegúrelos
apretandolosdostornillosdesujeción.(Fig.9)
Nota:Ajustelostornillosdelacarcasasegúnseanecesariohastaque
lacarcasaysucubiertaquedenbienajustadas.
Advertencia: Antes de sujetar la carcasa al soporte, asegúrese de que
la lengüeta en la parte inferior del soporte de suspensión calce bien en
la ranura de la bola de la abrazadera. Si la lengüeta no calza bien en la
ranura podría producir daños a la instalación eléctrica.

FUNCIONAMIENTO
Enciendalaalimentaciónyverifiqueelfuncionamientodesuventilador.
MANTENIMIENTO
IMPORTANTE: ANTES DE INTENTAR HACER ALGUNA REPARACIÓN,
ASEGÚRESE DE QUE LA ALIMENTACIÓN ELÉCTRICA ESTÉ
APAGADA EN LA CAJA DEL TABLERO DE ELECTRICIDAD.
CONSULTE LA SECCIÓN “CABLEADO DE CONEXIÓN”.
Debido al movimiento natural del ventilador, es probable que algunas
conexionesseaflojen.Verifiquelasconexionesdesostén,lossoportesy
lassujecionesdelaspaletasdosvecesalaño.Asegúresedequeestén
biensujetas.(Noesnecesarioretirarelventiladordeltecho).
Limpieelventiladordeformaperiódicaparaquesemantengacomonuevo
conelpasodelosaños.Sóloutiliceuncepillosuaveountraposinhilachos
para no rayar el acabado. El recubrimiento está sellado con laca para
minimizarladecoloraciónoelcambiodecolor.Noutiliceaguaparalimpiarlo.
Estopodríadañarelmotorolamaderaoproducirunadescargaeléctrica.
Puedeaplicarunaligeracapadelustramueblesalaspaletasdemadera
paraprotegerlasyaumentarsubelleza.Cubralospequeñosrayonescon
unaligeraaplicacióndelustreparazapatos.
No hay necesidad de engrasar el ventilador. El motor tienen cojinetes
lubricadospermanentemente.
SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS
El ventilador no se enciende.
1. Verifiquelosfusiblesolosdisyuntores.
2. Verifiquelasconexionesdeloscablesalventiladorylasconexiones
delcabledelinterruptorenlacarcasadeinterruptores.PRECAUCIÓN:
Asegúresedequeelinterruptorprincipaldealimentaciónestéapagado.
El ventilador hace mucho ruido.
1. Asegúresedequetodoslostornillosdelacarcasadelmotoresténbien
ajustados.
2. Asegúresedequelostornillosquesujetanlossoportesdelaspaletas
alcubodelmotoresténbienajustados.
3. Asegúresedequenohayafricciónentrelasconexionesdelastuercas
paraalambresoconlaparedinteriordelacarcasadeinterruptores.
PRECAUCIÓN: Asegúrese de que el interruptor principal de
alimentaciónestéapagado.
4. Dejepasarunperiodode24horasde“adaptación”.Lamayoríadelos
ruidosdeunventiladornuevodesaparecenconeltiempo.
5. Losmotoresdealgunosventiladoressonsensiblesalasseñalesde
dispositivosdecontroldevelocidadvariableconsemiconductores.Si
hainstaladoestetipodecontrol,elijaeinstaleotrotipodecontrol.
6. Asegúresedequelacarcasasuperiorquedeapocadistanciadeltecho.

El ventilador se bambolea.
1. Verifiquequetodaslaspaletasylostornillosdelosbrazosdelaspaletas
esténbienajustados.
2. Lamayoríadelosproblemasdebamboleosedebeaquelaspaletas
estándesniveladas.Paraverificarlosniveles,seleccioneunpuntoen
eltechosobrelapuntadeunadelaspaletas.Midaestadistancia.Rote
elventiladorhastaquelasiguientepaletaquedeposicionadaenese
puntoparamedirla.Repitaestaoperaciónconcadaunadelaspaletas.
Ladesviacióndedistanciadebeserigualenunradiode1/8”(0.3cm).
3. Utiliceelkitdenivelacióndepaletassielbamboleodelaspaletas
continúa.
4. Siaúnpercibeelbamboleodelaspaletas,puedeintercambiardos
paletasadyacentes(ladoalado)pararedistribuirelpesoyobtenerun
funcionamientomássuave.
ADVERTENCIA: PARA REDUCIR EL RIESGO DE LESIONES, NO DOBLE
LOS BRAZOS DE LAS PALETAS AL INSTALARLAS, NIVELARLAS O AL
LIMPIAR EL VENTILADOR. NO INSERTE OBJETOS EXTRAÑOS ENTRE
LAS PALETAS DEL VENTILADOR MIENTRAS ESTÉN ROTANDO.

Elperiododegarantíalimitadaparalaspiezasderepuestoyparalosventiladoresreparadosoreemplazadosbajoestagarantíalimitada
continuaráduranteelrestodelperiododegarantíaoriginal.
NO HAY OTRAS GARANTÍAS: LAS GARANTÍAS ANTERIORES SON EXCLUSIVAS Y EN LUGAR DE CUALQUIER OTRA GARANTÍA,

piezaaNuTone. Estagarantíanocubre(a)mantenimientoyservicionormal,(b)usoydesgastenormal,(c)ventiladoresopiezassujetosa
maluso,abuso,usoanormal,negligencia,accidente,mantenimientoinadecuadooinsuficiente,almacenamientooreparación(quenosea
reparaciónporpartedeNuTone),(d)dañoscausadosporinstalacióndefectuosa,obieninstalaciónousocontrarioalasrecomendaciones
o instrucciones, (e) cualquier ventilador que se haya movido de su punto de instalación original, (f) daños ocasionados por el medio
ambienteoloselementosnaturales,(g)dañosentránsito,(h)elacabadodecualquierpartemetálicadelventiladoroelaccesorio,(i)
ventiladoresenusocomercialonoresidencial,o(j)dañosocasionadosporincendio,inundaciónuotrocasofortuito.Estagarantíacubre
únicamentelosventiladoresvendidosenEstadosUnidosoatravésdedistribuidoresdeEE.UU.autorizadosporNuTone.

Cualquier asistencia que proporcione o procure NuTone para usted fuera de los términos, limitaciones o exclusiones de esta garantía
limitadanoconstituiráunarenunciaadichostérminos,limitacionesoexclusiones,nidichaasistenciaextenderáorenovarálagarantía.
NuTonenolereembolsaráningúngastoenelqueustedhayaincurridoalrepararoreemplazarcualquierventiladordefectuoso,exceptolos
incurridosconelpermisoprevioporescritodeNuTone.
