The Princess and the Frog
Tiana has acquired a rundown sugar mill in hopes of turning it into a four-star
restaurant. She needs to restore the sugar mill and decorate her new place of
business to make her dream come true.
Play through the game to earn improvements for the restaurant. You’ll find
ingredients to create recipes, songs for the band, and outfits to wear at the gala
grand opening!
Gameplay
Controls
Use the Wii Remote for all commands in Disney The Princess and the Frog. To
pick up items, just walk over them. To speak to a character, walk up to the
character and press the A Button.
Join Up & Play!
Disney The Princess and the Frog is all about cooperative play. Team up with
your friends and family to play minigames that help Tiana fulfill her dream of
owning her own deluxe restaurant. There will always be four players in the
minigames, either human or AI players. You can select from Normal or Hard
difficulty when creating a profile or through the Options menu.
Player 1 is always Tiana, but the other three players can choose to play as any of
the other characters. When players 2-4 turn on their Wii Remotes, a blank circle
will appear on screen. Press the + Button to join in and select a character using
the +Control Pad. Press the A Button to confirm your character.
Players 2-4 can join Disney The Princess and the Frog at any time except when
a minigame is in progress. Just turn on a Wii Remote for each new player and
they can join in! Players 2-4 can explore the environments and play along with
Tiana.
Earn Rewards
As you play minigames, you’ll earn beads that can be used to purchase clothing.
You’ll get to collect and combine purchased items to create even better stuff!
Explore & Collect
Disney The Princess and the Frog can be explored freely. Talk to the characters
and explore the locations at your own pace. You’ll even find things to collect as
you explore!
Watch the screen for animated objects to learn which ones can be interacted
with. You’ll need to collect items in each of the locations to fully create Tiana’s
dream restaurant.

Hubs
Restaurant
The restaurant is the Main Hub of the game. From the restaurant, you can
access all the activities and move to the Mini Hubs. As you play the game and
collect beads, the restaurant will slowly upgrade to fulfill Tiana’s dream.
To move from the restaurant to Mini Hubs, speak to the characters in the
restaurant.
Talk to chef Buford to go to Duke’s Café!
Talk to the frog hunter Darnell to go to the Frog Hunter Fen!
Talk to Big Daddy to go to the Masquerade Party!
Talk to the King and Queen to go to Mardi Gras!
Talk to Mama Odie to go to Mama Odie’s House!
Hint: If you have a cheat code for a hub, make sure to enter the code within 2
seconds. The cheat code will work once per profile. A “Code Accepted” screen
will pop up if you are successful. If you have a Mardi Gras bead cheat code, it
can be used in any of the hubs.
Minigames
You’ll find minigames in each hub. You can go back and replay minigames at any
time once they’ve been unlocked. Just select the correct hub to replay the
minigame. Minigames can be played at Normal or Hard difficulty. Before each
minigame, there is a tutorial. If you have the “Riverboat Jazz Edition,” press the
– Button to bring up the Menu and Extras section where you’ll find a bonus
minigame.
Beignet Big Feed
In Duke’s Cafe, hungry patrons can’t wait for hot beignets as they come out of
the kitchen. Toss a beignet at each diner’s plate for points.
To toss a beignet, point your Wii Remote at a customer’s plate. Press the A
Button to lock onto the plates and flick the Wii Remote to toss the beignet. Keep
those plates filled with beignet tosses for high points!
Hidden Leaf
In the Frog Hunter Fen, the fireflies need to locate special heart-shaped leaves.
When you see a heart-shaped leaf, point at it with your Wii Remote and press
the A Button to light the leaf.
If the leaf is heart-shaped, it’ll glow in your player’s color; otherwise, the leaf will
burn away. Play several rounds of the game to see which player can find the
most heart-shaped leaves. In every round, there’s a glowing bonus leaf. Quickly
light this leaf for extra points!

Charlotte’s Closet
Charlotte’s Closet can be found in the Masquerade Party. Keep an eye on
Charlotte’s outfits because you’ll need to remember them later.
First, you’ll see Charlotte wearing a certain dress. When you go back to the
dressing room, select the dress Charlotte was just wearing. Point at the correct
dress with your Wii Remote and press the A Button to select.
Next, you’ll see Charlotte wearing more than one outfit. Remember these outfits
because you’ll have to select the dress she was NOT wearing in the scenes.
Each player is represented by a cursor with his or her player color.
Shadow Hunt
Hunt shadows at Mardi Gras! Join the fireflies as they shoot light at shadows to
make them disappear. Use the Wii Remote to point and the A Button to shoot a
ray of firefly light.
You must wait until the current shadow attack is complete before firing at another
shadow. Watch out for Dr. Facilier! He’ll try to sneak past the hunt. Shoot him
with a ray of light for bonus points!
Pond Jump
Go to Mama Odie’s Boathouse for a fun jumping game. Use your Wii Remote to
jump to lily pads and perform midair frog tricks. To get the highest points, make
the longest jump!
Each frog must jump to one of the lily pads. When the prompt appears, flick the
Wii Remote up to launch yourself into the air. As you jump, you’ll see prompts
onscreen telling you to press a button or perform a gesture to pull off a trick. The
player who performs the most tricks is the winner!
Dancing Games
Dancing games require you to memorize dance moves in a sequence. Watch the
screen for the button presses you’ll need to repeat to perform the dance. Press
the appropriate buttons and perform the gestures in sequence as indicated
onscreen for the highest points.
In other dancing games, you’ll need to follow the onscreen frog’s movements
with your Wii Remote. Hold your arms up, down, left or right as shown and follow
the other movements as indicated. The player who performs the dance the best
will get the highest score!
Activities
There are three activities that can be played from the main Hub menu. You can
also access the kitchen and wardrobe activities by moving to the doors and
pressing the A Button. Access the stage activity by approaching Louis on stage
and pressing the A Button.

The Wardrobe
Change clothes and accessories on Tiana, Charlotte, Violet, or Georgia. Once
you’re in the Wardrobe, select the dresses icon by pointing with your Wii Remote
and pressing the A Button. You’ll see several dresses to choose from.
Select a Dress
Use the +Control Pad to select different dresses. Then use the Wii Remote to
select the change icon to change into the selected dress. Change the primary
and secondary colors of the dress by clicking on the spot and then selecting a
new color.
Once you’ve picked the dress you want, press the B Button to go back to the
main dressing room.
Accessories
Select the accessories icon to add accessories to your outfit. You can add an
accessory such as a mask to the character’s face. Just click on each type of
accessory and use the left and right icons to select the accessory you want. You
can also change the colors of the accessories by clicking on the appropriate
color. Add a sash, corsage or bow by clicking on the accessory icon. You can
finish off the outfit by choosing a wrist corsage or other accessories. Press the B
Button to go back to the main dressing room.
Jewelry
Select the jewelry icon to choose from a number of different jewelry items to add
to your outfit. Select the item and color you want and press the B Button to go
back.
Save Your Creation
To save your creation to wear again later, go to the Outfit Room. Select one of
the mannequins and press the A Button to save your ensemble. You can save
up to four outfits.
Kitchen
The kitchen is where you’ll get a chance to prepare ingredients, add spices and
cook recipes. Select an available recipe from the menu; remember, you need to
have all the ingredients for a recipe in your possession before you can create it.
Ingredients
Once you’ve selected a recipe, go to the prep table to get the ingredients ready
for cooking. Watch the screen for prompts on how to move your Wii Remote to
chop, slice, or peel the ingredients.

Stove
When the ingredients have been prepared, use the stove to cook the dish. Watch
the temperature gauge onscreen and press the A Button when the heat is high
enough. Make sure that you have the right temperature set or you will burn your
food. Then, top off your dish and add the meal’s spices.
Season & Stir the Dish
Watch the screen for how to season the dish with the different spices. Once the
spices have been added, use your Wii Remote to stir or flip the dish.
Complete the Presentation
When your recipe is complete, Big Daddy will give it a taste to see how well
you’ve done. If Big Daddy really likes the dish, it’ll be added to Tiana’s restaurant
menu!
Stage
Go to the Stage to listen and sing along with songs from the movie. Use the
+Control Pad to move Tiana to the stage and press the A Button. Select the
song you want from the menu and watch it performed by the band!
To sing along, just watch the bouncing ball at the bottom of the screen and sing
the lyrics as the ball touches them.
Rewards
Your ultimate goal is to make Tiana’s restaurant everything she’s dreamed of. As
you play through the minigames in each hub, you’ll earn upgrades for the
restaurant. Every upgrade you earn is automatically applied to the restaurant and
you can go there anytime you want to see how the dream is progressing.
You can also customize the color of each upgradeable element of the restaurant.
You can change the colors of an upgradeable element as you finish a hub, or by
accessing the Restaurant Upgrades option by pressing the + Button while in the
Restaurant Hub.
Beads & Collectibles
Beads are the main reward you’ll earn during gameplay. You can use them to
buy clothing, accessories and restaurant upgrades.
You’ll also collect songs as you play through the game. Find each song that can
be played on stage at the restaurant. Go to the restaurant and enter the stage by
moving Tiana toward the stage and pressing the A Button to select. You’ll
access a menu where you can choose the band’s song.
As you explore the hubs, you’ll also find kitchen items for the cooking activity.
Collect food ingredients to make more and more recipes!

Characters
Tiana
Tiana is the main character of the game. Explore new environments and play
minigames to earn items to outfit Tiana’s dream restaurant.
Naveen
Naveen, the Prince of Maldonia, is Tiana’s friend and partner. He’s kind of a silly
guy who can easily get himself into trouble.
Charlotte La Bouff
Charlotte is one of Tiana’s fun friends. She’s a spoiled, rich girl who’s used to
getting her way.
Violet
Violet is another one of Tiana’s friends. She loves to borrow clothes for games of
Dress Up!
Sammy
Sammy is a kindly soul who’s known to be good-hearted and loyal. He loves to
get together with his pals for fun nights out.
Thaddeus
Thaddeus grew up in the heart of New Orleans. He loves to sing, dance and eat
good food with his friends.
Georgia
Georgia is Tiana’s shyest friend. She loves to dress up and go out, but she
usually stays quietly in the background.
