Subsequently, a DC version was released as the Netra T4 DC100 and delivered with
an updated manual set covering both the AC and DC versions of the server. These
manuals were all at revision -11.
The most recent manual set incorporates the change of name to the Netra 20 server

Points You Should Note
System Configuration Card
The system configuration card must be present and properly seated in your system
at all times. In particular, note that:
■
■
The system will not boot if the configuration card is not present.
If you remove the configuration card from a working system, the system will shut
down after 60 seconds.
Note – The system configuration card can become dislodged when the system is in
transit. While this may not be obvious visually, it can be enough to prevent the
system from booting. Before switching on the system for the first time, ensure that
the card is fully seated in the card reader.
Sacrificial Brackets
Remove the orange sacrificial brackets before installing the system in a rack.
RJ45 LOMlite2 Serial Cable
A shielded RJ45 to RJ45 serial cable and RJ45 to DB-25 adaptor is supplied with the
system to enable connection to the LOMlite2 serial port.
Note – The LOMlite2 serial port is the default serial port.

Software Issues
This section describes software issues relating to your Netra 20 system and lists
other known platform-specific software bugs.
Serial Ports
ttya and ttyb are incorrectly named in the software. TABLE 2 shows the
/dev/term entries for the hardware ports.

The LOMlite2 reset-x command does not currently reset the CPUs. This will be
fixed in a later revision of the OBP.
4476916
Following an upgrade of the LOMlite2 firmware using the lom -G default
command at the Unix prompt, the system should return to the shell prompt.
However, the system occasionally displays the OBP ok prompt instead after
successfully downloading the firmware. If this occurs, type go to return to the Unix
prompt.
4483972
If a break is sent on the console while OBP is resetting or starting up, the OBP
initialization is interrupted. As a result, the platform name is not set to
SUNW,Netra-T4 and, therefore, when Solaris boots, the platform identity is
incorrect and the lombus driver is not loaded.

LW2+RelNote.P21.book Page 8 Thursday, September 25, 2003 11:18 AM
To recover, reboot the system.
To prevent this occurring do not interrupt the OBP startup process. If you interrupt
the process by mistake, type reset-all at the ok prompt before rebooting Solaris.
4485823
When /platform/sun4u/kernel/dev/lomv.conf parameter serial_timeout
has been enabled (by setting its value to 1), and the lom output is not shared with
general console output on the LOMlite2 port (by setting input-device and
output-device to ttya), the message
[returning to system console]
is displayed at the lom console instead of ttya following a lom session timeout. To
return to the lom> prompt, type #. at the lom console.
4488811
The multilingual installation CDs supplied with the Netra 20 system for Solaris 8
Updates 4/01 and 7/01 require the multilingual Solaris media kit. If you have the
English-only media kit, see the comment at the end of “Delivered CDs for Updates
4/01, 7/01 and 10/01” on page 4.
