What kind of vehicle is this Audi A5 Sportback? A coupé? An Avant? This vehicle does not fit into familiar categories. It defines a class of its own –
a five-door coupé. From the elongated, three-dimensionally worked bonnet through to the tail, the design echoes the classic form of a two-door.
The sharp distinctive lines give the vehicle expression and stance. The flat roof is stretched elegantly over the frameless doors and a sporty shoulder
line accentuates the large wheels. Short overhangs and a longer wheelbase create additional dynamics.

The elegant yet powerful roofline of the Audi A5 Sportback is rounded off by its smoothly accentuated tail.
The rear lights are particularly fascinating: they are the optical link between the shoulder line at the side
and the edge of the bumper. The horizontal lines of the rear bumper accentuate the decisiveness of the
design, while the diffuser insert in a contrasting colour increases the dynamics. The front fog lights are
enclosed by a black high-gloss blade. The optional xenon plus headlights with integrated LED daytime
running light strip are particularly eye-catching. The Singleframe with its sculptural structure makes the
vehicle look self-confident, while the elegant lines of the bonnet make the car lighter and sportier.

It only takes a millisecond for a normal driving situation to become a challenge. The best option is to detect dangerous situations early and thus avoid them if possible.
The A5 Sportback has extensive assistance systems to help drivers with this. Audi active lane assist, which is available on request, for example, warns the driver if the
vehicle is inadvertently drifting out of lane and gently intervenes in the steering if necessary, while the optional Audi side assist monitors the areas to the left, right and
behind the vehicle and issues a warning during lane changing if there is a vehicle in the immediate vicinity in the adjacent lane.
Audi drive select lets you drive according to your mood – comfortably or sportily as you prefer. On request, the dynamic steering option can be ordered with the system;
this adapts to the respective mode selected and ensures even smoother running or faster implementation of your steering commands.

Each new kilometre demonstrates the performance of the Audi A5 Sportback and makes
each drive an exciting experience. There is a wide range of powerful and high-torque
engines available. All the petrol engines use the economical TFSI technology and are among
the most economical and cleanest injection engines currently available worldwide. The
diesel engines also combine sportiness and efficiency. Thanks to TDI technology, they unite
high torque forces and low fuel consumption.
The quattro permanent all-wheel drive sets standards in agility with wheel-selective torque
distribution and a self-locking centre differential. The system transfers the drive force
dynamically and asymmetrically to all four wheels depending on the individual situation –
for outstanding traction. On request, you can experience even more precise cornering with
the optional quattro with sport differential. The standard electromechanical power steering
works according to speed and ensures greater steering precision and comfort. In addition,
it only requires fuel if you actively request steering support.

Slimline optional xenon plus headlights with an LED daytime running light
strip and large air inlets give the front of your A5 its typically expressive
appearance. The brake light integrated into the tailgate emphasises the
aesthetic design of the vehicle. Furthermore, its LED technology reacts more
quickly than standard lamps, giving following road users more warning
time when the car brakes.

The interior radiates elegance and sportiness. The architecture is harmonious and creates a lively
atmosphere. Selected materials emphasise the high quality of workmanship, which you will see and
above all feel.
High-quality steering wheels, a wide range of colours and refined chrome applications emphasise this
feeling. The standard sport leather steering wheel in 3-spoke design provides a good grip, as does
the ergonomically shaped gear or selection lever knob, which is also leather-covered.
The optional MMI navigation plus is intuitively operated via the MMI rotary/push-button control with
integrated joystick or voice control. MMI navigation plus features include a high-quality 7-inch colour
display with 3D map representation and a hard drive for your music and media files. In conjunction
with Audi connect including car phone, you even have a separate Wi-Fi hotspot available. In addition,
you can use a variety of services supported by Audi connect. More information about these features

You get into a coupé – and are amazed by the generous amount of space in the Audi A5 Sportback. Experience the dimensions
and superb details of the interior, with its well thought-out design. Four or an optional five seats offer comfort and strong
lateral support. On request, you can also choose ventilated and heated climate-controlled comfort seats in the front. A host
of seat upholstery designs adds diversity to the interior, and the fine Nappa leather offers even more seating comfort. Refined
applications make the interior even more elegant: you can decide between high-quality polymer material in a reflex finish,
aluminium or precious woods.
There is an exceptional amount of space in the back, too, for relaxed travelling, even on long journeys. The generous luggage
compartment with a loading width of 1,000 mm is extremely variable. The asymmetrical rear seat can be split and folded
down to allow the loading volume to be extended quickly from 480 to 1,283 litres. The optional through-loading facility with
removable ski and snowboard bag facilitates the stowing of longer objects, so that you can relax and simply look forward
to your next transport.

The S emblem. Many impressive vehicles have been created by Audi
bearing this emblem. A tradition that is seamlessly continued with

With an output of 245 kW, the powerful and compact V6 TFSI
engine delivers intense driving experiences. Innovations such as
quattro with self-locking centre differential and wheel-selective
torque distribution make this an exceptional vehicle.

The engine – the heart of the Audi S5 Sportback. The torque and acceleration
will already impress in the first few metres. The V6 3.0 TFSI spontaneously
comes to life, six supercharged cylinders release 245 kW of power. The
TFSI technology ensures you make progress not only more quickly, but more
efficiently too. The displacement of less than 3 litres makes the power unit
light and sporty and generates 440 Nm, allowing you to accelerate to up to
250 km/h (regulated). The stiff suspension of the S sport suspension presses
the S5 Sportback flat to the road, and the quattro permanent all-wheel drive
ensures outstanding traction and precise grip.

Signalling superiority: the platinum grey S Singleframe with
sculptural chrome braces and S5 emblem. S-specific bumpers
emphasise the sporty attributes of the vehicle, as do the distinctive
air inlets. Xenon plus headlights with daytime running light strip

Generously sized wheels such as the optional 19-inch cast aluminium wheels in 5-parallel-spoke star design and sill trims painted in body
colour give the S5 Sportback an athletic overall appearance. The front brake callipers with S5 logo look exclusive and are ready to deliver top
performance on demand. At the rear, lights using LED technology are a real eye-catcher: they combine the dynamic side of the vehicle with
the clearly defined rear end. A dual-branch exhaust system with four oval tailpipes and a diffuser with a blade in aluminium look round off the
striking appearance of the S5 Sportback.

Conveying an authentic racing feel: the multifunction sport
leather steering wheel in 3-spoke design with shift paddles in
aluminium look. The interior is generously comfortable, the
headlining in black or lunar silver creates an atmosphere of
dynamic tension. The optional S sport seats in the front with
S5 embossing, front seat heating and electric seat adjustment
offer excellent support.
The special S line details of the interior underline the sporty
character of the vehicle: these include chrome applications or
inlays in matt brushed aluminium, carbon Atlas, stainless steel
mesh, fine grain birch, grey, piano finish, black or aluminium/

end of the 1980s with Audi lightweight construction and the revolutionary Audi Space Frame (ASF®) is now known as the
reversal of the weight spiral: every lightweight component has an impact on other components, which in turn can be made
smaller. In this way, existing forms and materials are continuously being improved with regard to their functionality, the

Audi TDI engines: high torque output over the entire engine speed range –

partial braking action or boost the driver’s braking
action if necessary. In addition, full braking action is
initiated at speeds below 30 km/h if there is a danger

order to reduce the speed of the collision or to avoid

warns by means of an LED display on the relevant
exterior mirror of any situations assessed as critical
for changing lanes. Radar sensors record the vehicle
approaching at the side from behind and measure the
distance and the difference in speed. The lane change
assistant provides support at speeds from around
30 km/h. Activated via a button in the mirror quadrant
Audi active lane assist⁴
helps you to keep in lane by means of gentle steering
intervention. The lane compliance assistant is
triggered when the driver starts to cross detected lane
markings without activating an indicator. The system
provides assistance in the speed range from about

holds the vehicle stationary for unlimited periods after
stopping in traffic on normal uphill and downhill
gradients. The system is activated by push-button and
allows the driver to drive away smoothly.
Cruise control¹
at speeds of around 30 km/h and above, the system
keeps the set speed constant, provided that engine
power and engine braking effect permit it; automatic
braking intervention, e.g. when driving downhill;
operated via separate steering column stalk; set speed
displayed in the driver information system

Start-stop system
helps to reduce fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions
by automatically switching off the engine when the
vehicle is stationary, e.g. at traffic lights. The engine is
restarted as soon as the clutch is pressed (manual
transmission) or the footbrake is released (automatic
transmission). May be deactivated using a switch at
any time
Audi TDI clean diesel
In addition to the standard equipment with catalytic
converter and diesel particulate filter, the exhaust
aftertreatment system installed in the models with
TDI clean diesel leads to lower exhaust emissions
and consequently complies with the EU6 emission
standard which comes into force in September 2014.
This technology significantly reduces nitrogen oxides
by injecting small quantities of the biodegradable
additive AdBlue®² into the exhaust flow and breaking
it down to nitrogen and water in the nitrogen-oxide
catalytic converter (DeNOx catalytic converter). The
separate AdBlue tank is refilled as indicated by the
information in the display of the instrument cluster.
We recommend having the AdBlue tank refilled at
your Audi partner.
Side airbags, rear
as supplement for side airbags, front, and head airbag
system
Integrated head restraint system
increases safety and reduces the danger of whiplash.
In the event of a rear-end collision, the design of
the front seat better restrains the upper torso and
provides stronger support for the head than
conventional systems.
Audi Extended Warranty
The Audi Extended Warranty offers longer-term
protection against risk and allows you to control
servicing costs even after the first 2 years of the
manufacturer’s guarantee. It can be ordered directly
and only on purchase of a new car. Choose from 9
combinations of service life and mileage. For more

Seat belts
3-point inertia reel seat belts for all seats, with belt
force limiters, seat belt tensioners and seat belt
reminder at the front; colour-coordinated with the
interior
ISOFIX child seat mounting and top tether
for the outer rear seats
Standard mounting for practical attachment of ISOFIX
child seats; including additional fastening point
(top tether).

Lockable carrier unit for various roof rack modules such
as the cycle fork mount. Suitable for cycles with a quickaction lock on the front wheel. Maximum load 17 kg.
The maximum permissible total weight of carrier,

Audi baby seat (not shown)
Can be secured using the 3-point belt. The integrated
safety harness provides good restraint, whilst the attached
hood offers protection from sunlight. With adjustable
head restraint. Suitable for infants up to 13 kg (approx.
12 months). Also available: Audi child seat for children
from 9 to 18 kg (approx. 12 months to 4 years) and Audi
child seat youngster plus for children from 15 to 36 kg
(approx. 4 to 12 years). All child seats are available in
Misano red/black and titanium grey/black.

already putting this into practice will find fascinating

at the Audi museum mobile in Ingolstadt, history
and high-tech go hand in hand. A total of 130 historic
exhibits and state-of-the-art forms of presentation
make for a thrilling symbiosis. Plus, Audi driving
experience allows you to live the excitement and
countless possibilities of current Audi models. Here,
pure driving enjoyment is combined with valuable
learning effects. This is ensured by a team of specially
trained and highly qualified instructors who provide
practical tips to help you optimise your driving skills.
All this can now also be enjoyed at the recently opened
Audi driving experience center in Neuburg, near
Ingolstadt. Facilities here include a circuit of up to 3.4
kilometres that features challenging combinations of
bends, a 30,000 m² dynamic driving area and an offroad
section where Q models can be put through their paces.
