Position the side cutter so that the side cutter
f pin is aligned with the notch in the presser
foot holder, and then slowly lower the presser
foot lever.
Position the fabric.
j Position the fabric so that the right side of the
cut is on top of the guide plate and the left side
of the cut is underneath the presser foot.

X The side cutter is attached.
Raise the presser foot lever to check that the
g side cutter is securely attached.
Pass the upper thread under the side cutter,
h and then pull it out toward the rear of the
sewing machine.
CAUTION
● After adjusting the stitch width, slowly turn
the handwheel toward you and check that the
needle does not touch the presser foot. If the
needle hits the presser foot, the needle may
bend or break.
Make a cut of about 2 cm (3/4 inch) long
i in the fabric at the beginning of the
stitching.
