connector.TheRE·BLusesexistingWindowsdriversanddoesnotrequireanyadditionaldriverstobeinstalledbeforeusing
thesoftware.
Ifanychangesaremadetotheconfiguration,theyneedtobewrittentothedevicebypressingtheSave

WhenallpowersourcesareremovedtheRE·BLshouldstartflashingfor20secondswhenconnectingeither:DCadaptor,
USBorbatteries.Withinthese20seconds(whiletheLEDflashes)pressandholdthe‘2’buttonontheIRremote,theLED
ontheRE·BLshouldbeconstantonuntilthePS3says“Registering”.Ifyouletgoofthe‘2’buttonbeforethePS3has
registeredtheRE·BL,youwillhavetostartfromthebeginningandpowerofftheRE·BLagain.
Iftheabovedoesnotworktrythefollowing:

RE·BLfirmware.Pressingpoweroffontheremotewillinitiatethemacro.
IfthePS3isalreadyoffwhenpressingpoweroffontheremote(forinstanceifthecontrollerhasbeenusedtoturnofthe
PS3),thePS3willbootupinsteadofturningoff.Thepowerstatewillbeoutofsync.
RE·BLhas2waysofovercomingthisproblem,internalandexternal(USB)powertracking.Theycanbeenabledinthe
configurationsoftware(fromv1.15andup).Internalandexternalisdefaultoff.
TheUSB(external/hardware)powertrackingworkslikethis:
IftheRE·BLdoesnotdetectaUSB-link(PS3=Off)itignoresthepoweroffmacro.TheUSBlinkisonlypresentfromthe
PS3whenthePS3ison.
Theinternalpowertrackingworkslikethis:
Whenpoweredup,theRE·BLsetsit'sinternalstatetoOff.WhentheinternalstateisOff,itignoresthepoweroffmacro.
Anyotherkeyisallowed,andanyotherkeywillchangetheinternalstatetoOn(anyotherkeywillalsopowerupthe
PS3).OncetheinternalstateisOn,thepoweroffmacroisallowedwhichinturnwillsetthestatetoOff.
IfthePS3andRE·BLcomesoutofsync,(PS3=On,Internalstate=Off)theRE·BLwillnotissueapoweroffmacrountilat
leastoneotherkeyhasbeenpressedchangingthestatetoOn.Thentheywillbesyncedagain.
IfPS3=OffandInternalstate=On,anaccidentalfiringofthepoweroffmacrowillcausethePS3toturnonaccidentally.

slightlylongerkeypresstoenterthepower-offmenu,andwehavefound3750ms(3.75seconds)toworkwellwithboth
theoriginalPS3andthePS3Slim.
Thechangecanbemadeintheconfigurationsoftware,undertheMacrotab.Choosethepower-offmacro(firstonthe
list),andchangethevalue2500to3750onthePS/Powertogglecommandandpress"Save".

ofthefeedbackandsuggestionswehavereceivedfromusersoftheoriginalRE·BL.
ThemajorimprovementovertheoriginalRE·BL,istheIRportwhichsupportsalmostanykindofIRsignalling,
demodulatedsignalsfromanexternalIReye,ormodulatedsignalsfromanIRdistributionnetwork.Anauto-sense
functionchoosesbetweenthedifferentinputmodesautomatically.
OneofthemostinterestingnewfeaturesoftheIRport,istheabilityofRE·BLXworkingasanIRrepeater.Thisisvery
usefulforA/Vdevicesplacedinaclosedrack.RE·BLXwilltakeanysignalreceivedfromtheinternalIRreceiver,and
transmitittoasingle,dualorquadIRemittercableconnectedtotheIRport,whilestillprovidingtheusualfunctionality
ofIRtoBluetoothconversion.
(SinceRE·BLXkeepsallcurrentfeaturesfromtheRE·BL(classicversion)andisavailableatthesameretailprice,RE·BL
(classicversion)willnolongerbeproducedorsold).
