THE SENTINEL XL HP POWERED AIR PURIFYING
RESPIRATOR (PAPR) SYSTEM (MODEL 3000-06)
helps to provide improved protection from pathogens for healthcare workers and first receivers in
the presence of Ebola and other infectious, often-fatal viruses and diseases. It is designed to work
in concert with other CDC- and WHO-recommended personal protection equipment, including fluidresistant gowns, gloves and shoe coverings, in accordance with best practice protocols for donning,
use and doffing.
The Sentinel XL HP PAPR system comes as a complete kit, including one shoulder length
double-bibbed full hood, a flexible breathing hose, blower unit with integrated, rechargeable
NiMH battery, a Smart Battery charger, flow monitor and adjustable Quick-LocTM belt, plus
two P-100 HEPA cartridges and this user literature—all in a durable zippered duffle bag,
ready for immediate deployment.

ONE HOOD, MANY BENEFITS.
The Sentinel XL HP head cover is a fully enclosed latex-free hood with an integrated antimicrobial
headband, eliminating the need to buy and stock different size hoods. Its flexible interior profile also
ensures a contoured fit around the chin and face. Forward and peripheral vision is excellent through
the rugged, sealed, clear plastic face shield. A ribbed breathing tube threads securely into the back.
The product is NIOSH approved (TC 21C-0814) and the hood fabric meets ASTM Standards 1670 and 1671.
The belt-mounted blower delivers purified ambient air into the hood at 8.5 scfm with 99.97% filtration
efficiency, creating positive air pressure inside, which helps to support it. The hood also features
two bibs—an inner one that tucks in under the wearer’s fluid-resistant gown through the neck
opening, plus an outer bib that drapes over the chest, shoulders and back, allowing free movement.
It is recommended that the hood be safely disposed of, rather than decontaminated, after
exposure to Ebola or other deadly viruses or diseases.

blower for up to 10 hours. When the D-cells run low, just replace them with fresh
batteries. No waiting, no recharging. And only ILC offers this option.
All three Sentinel battery packs snap into place in the blower housing to form an
integrated, self-contained system. This exclusive ILC Dover design offers clear
advantages over competitive PAPR systems that require the battery pack to be
connected to the blower with an external cord that adds weight and complexity,
and poses a risk of snagging on medical equipment, patient beds or door handles.

TWO EASY-TO-INSTALL
P-100 FILTERS
As easy to screw in as a light bulb, ILC’s high-efficiency particulate air
(HEPA) filters remove 99.97% of 0.3 µm particles from air passing through
them. ILC filters are NIOSH-approved and designed to pass a 4-hour silica
dust test with no drop in required airflow. They are rugged, lightweight and

then turn on the blower to check airflow. The meter tube is clear
and simple to read. Positive air pressure keeps the sensor indicator

The Sentinel XL blower and battery pack click into place, locking
securely to our proprietary belt design. Unlike fabric belts that can
be grabby, our polymeric belt is lightweight, smooth, easy to grasp
and adjusts in two directions with a simple pull on the straps.
The Sentinel XL breathing tube is a clear, ribbed design that reliably
links the hood and blower system. Its durable design resists nicks
and cuts. Epoxy at both ends of the tube ensures a strong seal and
sure-handed threading, top and bottom. The tube is easy to use
and replace if exposed to Ebola or other lethal viruses or diseases.
Replacement tubes are sold in packs of five.

While many hospitals and healthcare systems offer CDC- and WHO-recommended training
on how to properly and safely put on, operate and remove PAPRs, ILC can also send a highly
skilled instructor to your location for Sentinel XL HP-specific training sessions. This can
help to ensure that your physicians and nurses, EMTs, first receivers or other healthcare
personnel are competent and confident in all procedures and safeguards.

REPLACEMENTS AND SPARES
The Sentinel XL HP PAPR system comes fully equipped to protect one individual.
Additional hoods, extra batteries, breathing tubes and HEPA filters may be ordered
separately. Hoods in particular should be properly discarded after one-time use in
