This is a very useful feature, particularly for family members, parents, friends etc. of the person with epilepsy as with one touch of the keypad, video-recording facilities are available to record the individual’s seizures. The User can pass their mobile device to another person to do the recording. Recording seizure events is extremely helpful to people with epilepsy and especially to the medical team who are working with them. Emergency SMS Service Button: Emergency SMS Service button sends a pre-defined message alert to the User’s chosen recipient. Post-Login Application Features Log in Button: Use the Login button if you have an account. Enter Username and Password to log in. Sign-up Button: Use the sign up button if you do not have an account. Enter details asked for and click on Register. 3 Navigation Features Epilepsy Ireland Button: The epilepsy Ireland button (top-left of screen) displays a slide-bar menu on the left of the screen with a list of navigation options. Calendar Features Calendar Button: The Calendar features can be accessed by clicking on the Epilepsy Ireland button (top-left of screen). The Calendar is automatically displayed on logging in and will always open on the current month. If you want to view previous months you need to click on the month (top-left) of the screen which brings up a list of the different months. Any recordings of seizures will be highlighted on the calendar page with a blue circle outlined in red. 4 By clicking on this circle, the User can view the seizure details entered for that particular date. Record Seizure Features Record Seizure Details Button: The Record Seizure Details button allows the User to record details of the seizure. By choosing this button the User will be given a list of different options to choose from. 5 Seizure Type Button: Displays a range of seizure types. Choose one or more options that describes the type of seizure experienced and click ok. Trigger Button: Displays a list of possible seizure triggers. Choose one or more options that may apply and click ok. Seizure Duration Button: Displays a number of different time ranges. Choose an option from the list that best describes the length of your seizure and click ok. Video Button: Click on the Video button to choose the associated video recorded of the seizure (if one exists). If there is no video, you can skip this option. Emergency Medication Given button: Choose from Yes/No option. Ambulance called button: Choose from Yes/No option. Seizures Button: Displays a list of common seizure features that occur during the seizure itself. Choose one or more options that apply and click ok. Pre Features Button: Displays a list of common features that may occur before the seizure begins. Choose one or more options that apply and click ok. Post Features Button: Displays a list of common features that may occur after the seizure has finished. Choose one or more options that apply and click ok. Other Information Button: Allows you to enter additional information you may have in relation to the seizure. Date Button: Input date of seizure. 6 Time Button: Input time of seizure. Save any details you have inputted by clicking the floppy disk icon on the bottom of the screen. Delete any details you have inputted by clicking the trash icon on the bottom of the screen. Video Gallery Features Video Gallery Button: Click on the Video Gallery button to display all seizure recordings and the date and time that they were created. To view a recording click on the image. Terms and Conditions Terms and Conditions Button: As a first time User you will automatically be taken to the Terms and Conditions page. Scroll down to the bottom on the page to accept the Terms and Conditions by checking the tick box, before you can use the app. 7 Contact Us Features Contact Us Button: By clicking on the Contact Us button a list of useful Epilepsy Ireland links and contact information will be displayed. Logout Button: By clicking on the logout button the User will immediately log out and find themselves back at the Login page. 8 Customising Menu The User has the option of customising the Record Seizure Menu by clicking on the menu icon on the top-right of the screen (for those Users using the Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) Operating System). A drop down menu is displayed allowing the User to add their own trigger factors, seizures types and seizure features to the existing lists. The User is asked for a shorthand description of the different symptoms they may have, that are not available by default on the pre-defined lists. These descriptions are then added as an option when you are recording seizures on your calendar. Please Note: Those Users using earlier versions of Android e.g. Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) the menu icon can be found on the bottom-right of the screen. Customising Menu Features Create Seizure Type Button: By clicking on the Create Seizure Type button, the User can enter a shorthand description of additional symptoms they may experience which are not available by default in the pre-defined lists. Save the details entered by clicking on the floppy disk icon on the bottom right of screen. Create Trigger Button: By clicking on the Create Trigger button, the User can enter a shorthand description of additional Triggers they may have which are not available by default in the pre-defined lists. Save the details entered by clicking on the floppy disk icon on the bottom right of screen. 9 Create Pre-Feature Button: By clicking on the Pre-Feature button, the User can enter a shorthand description of the pre-features they may have, which are not available by default in the pre-defined lists. Save the details entered by clicking on the floppy disk icon on the bottom right of screen. Create Seizure Feature Button: By clicking on the Seizure Feature button, the User can enter a shorthand description of the Seizure features they may have, which are not available by default in the pre-defined lists. Save the details entered by clicking on the floppy disk icon on the bottom right of screen. Create Post-Feature Button: By clicking on the Post-Feature button, the User can enter a shorthand description of the post-seizure features they may have, which are not available by default in the pre-defined lists. Save the details entered by clicking on the floppy disk icon on the bottom right of screen. Setup SMS Button: By clicking on the Setup SMS button, the User can enter an alert message that they want to send to someone in case of emergency. 10 Setting up Email Events: By clicking on the Email Events button the User can send details of particular seizure events recorded to an email account of their own choosing. The User can specify a particular time frame by entering a date in the “Date From:” box and entering a date in the “Date To:” box. Clicking on the envelope icon at the bottom of the screen allows the User to choose the email account that they wish to send the seizure information to. 11
