How do I check out a NOOK?
To check out a NOOK you must have a valid Boone County Public Library card, be in good standing, and
an Equipment Usage Agreement must be signed.
Can children check-out the NOOK?
Children 13 to 17 may check out a NOOK with parent permission by signing an Equipment Usage
Agreement.
How do I search for a NOOK in the library catalog and place hold?
Search “Nook” in the library catalog and click on Place Request.
To place request on specific genre (example-Bestseller):
search Nook and choose the Nook Bestseller and place request
Which branches check out a NOOK?
You can place a hold on a Nook and have it sent to any branch of the library.
Where do I go in the library to pick up the NOOK?
The Nook will be available at the Information Desk
How long can I keep the NOOK?
21 days. –Most circulating material may be borrowed for three weeks. New releases or high-demand
items may have limited checkout times
Can I renew a Nook?
At this time an eReader may not be renewed.
Are there any fines for returning the NOOK late?
Yes, a $2.00 per day late fee will be charged to your account.
Can I return the NOOK in the bookdrop?
No, please take it inside to the information desk. A $5.00 fine will be assessed if a Nook is returned in
bookdrop.
Can I add or delete books/content from the NOOK?
Use of the eReader is limited to the content installed by the library. Downloading or deleting content is
not permitted.
How can I recommend titles to be added to the NOOK?
Fill out a Recommend to Purchase form at www.bcpl.org under the tab Read, Listen, Watch
What is in the NOOK bag?
NOOK, USB cord/charger, User Manual, Borrowing Policy
