72 11 VX-7 Programmer Help Internet (WIRES) Functionality The radio can be used to access a “node” (repeater or base station) which is tied into the Vertex Standard WIRES™ (Wide-Coverage Internet Repeater Enhancement System) network, operating in the “SRG” (Sister Radio Group) mode. Details may be found at the WIRES-II Web site: www.vxstd.com/en/wiresinfo-en/ The Internet function settings area part of the Radio menu settings in the Programmer. Access that screen by selecting Settings | Radio Menu Settings from the menu at the top of the main screen of the Programmer. Settings for Internet Access Enable - Enables or disables the Internet functionality of the radio. Mode - Select the Internet Link Connection mode. Vertex: Sets up the Internet Link Connection mode for WIRES™ access. User: Sets up the Internet Link Connection mode for other (DTMF string) Internet Link System access. DTMF Code: Select the Access Number (DTMF digit) for WIRES™ operation. Available values are CODE 0 - CODE 9. The default is CODE 1 DTMF Ch #: Select the memory register for an Access Number (DTMF code) for nonWIRES™ Internet Link System access. Available values are D1 - D9. The default is D1 Note: If other users report that you always have a DTMF “beep” at the beginning of each transmission, and you are not operating in conjunction with Internet access, disable the Internet access feature from the face of the radio by holding the [Tx PO LK] button for 1/2 second. The icon that indicates use of this feature will disappear from the screen once the feature is disabled. © 2013 RT Systems, Inc.
