SOLAR SPOT LIGHT
508-000
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Find a location for your light where there is no
surrounding shade or light sources that will affect
the operation of your solar light. Set the On/Off
switch to the “Off” position and allow for a full
day’s charge. Once the lights have charged you
can set the On/Off switch to the “On” position.
You will need to do this only when you set them
out for the initial charge or after battery replacement. Once set to the “On” position the lights
will automatically turn on at dusk and off at dawn.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT:
1. Switch the On/Off switch to the off position and remove the four
(4) screws on the back of the solar light (fig. 1).
2. Remove the back cover from the solar panel taking care not to
damage any wires (fig. 2).
3. Replace the spent batteries with new batteries, making sure the
polarity is correct (fig. 2)
4. Replace the back cover and tighten screws (fig. 3)
On/Off Switch
1. Place the garden spike
into the ground.
2. Connect the support pole
to the garden stake.
3. Connect the solar spot light
onto the support pole.
Note: This product uses 2 x AA NiCd batteries. The rechargeable
batteries must be allowed to fully charge to operate properly. Partially
charging the battery on a consistent basis will drastically reduce the life
of the battery.
TROUBLE SHOOTING:
If the light does not turn on in the evening do the following:
1. Check the surrounding area for high ambient lights, such as
porch lights, streetlights, etc.
2. Make sure the switch is at the “On” position
3. Make sure solar panel is not located in a shady area, where
sunlight is not reaching the unit.
4. Make sure the batteries are making contact with the
terminals. (See “BATTERY REPLACEMENT,” to learn how to
access battery area.)
s
Caution: Insert batteries with the correct polarity. Do not mix old and
new batteries. Do not mix different types of batteries: Alkaline, standard
(carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (NiCd). Never short-circuit the battery
terminals. Do not dispose of batteries in the fire, batteries may explode
or leak. Remove batteries during long periods of non-use or when
product is stored. Dispose of batteries safely.
MAINTENANCE:
1. It is recommended to clean the solar panels with a damp cloth on
a regular basis.
*DO NOT USE CHEMICALS OF ANY KIND TO CLEAN.
2. Solar lights are weatherproof, but during winter or cold
temperatures (below 0ºC/32ºF), it is best to remove them and
wait until the extreme weather dissipates.
