Introduction
Intended readership
This document covers the use for the following users of the Online Auction Portal.
Online (Users) Purchasers of Murrays Online Auction Portal.
Applicability
This Software User Manual (SUM) applies to the Murrays Online Auction Portal, version 1.0.2.
Purpose
The purpose of the SUM is to assist the user in using the Murrays Online Auction Portal.
How to use this document
Chapter 2 gives an Overview of Online Auction Portal.
Chapter 3 provides guidelines for Registration process of the Portal.
Chapter 4 gives instructions for selecting Lots for Bidding process & Results.
Chapter 5 outlines Menu options available in My Room
Chapter 6 provides information on Menu options available in the portal.

Overview
The portal is implemented to carry out Online Auctions by registered users to the portal. The portal
is able to declare the winner of the Auction process once the same is complete among the
participated bidders. The technology facilitates the users online which makes the business side of
auctioneering much easier.

Registration
To open the portal, user need to type or copy the following link on the Browser.
http://murraysonline.net/
And press the enter key which will open the following screen.
To use the portal, firstly
The user need to register or
Log in to the portal using the user name & password
If the user already registered on the portal by clicking the Icon which shown inside the in Red
colour mark below the Murrays Logo on the left top side.

On clicking the icon inside the Red circle, the window is as shown in the snap shot below.
For Registration – The user need to click “New Users click here to register” which would take the
user to the Preliminary Registration Page as shown below

On entering the details, the user has to proceed which will open up the Preliminary registration
continuation page as shown below. On providing the captcha code the preliminary registration gets
completed as shown in the figure below.
On completion of the Preliminary Registration, an invitation e-mail with link will be sent to the
users email id provided at the time of preliminary registration.
On clicking the link or placing the link in the browser and pressing enter will open up the
Secondary registration page as shown below.

On entering the details in this page, the users need to click the Submit Button as shown below.
On clicking the Submit Button, the preview page of the registration is shown. Here the user can go

back to the earlier page if he has entered data wrongly or he needs to amend any data filled.
Again on clicking the Submit Button at this level completes the secondary registration to the portal.
The below snap shot shows the completion of secondary registration.
Upon completion of secondary registration, a mail with two attachments will be sent to the user by
application. One attachment is General Terms & Conditions of the sale while the other one is Terms
& Conditions between Murrays & Terms & the purchaser.
Details regarding Login to Portal and features available there will be discussed in Chapter 3.

Lot Selection
User can Log on to the portal using the username & password at this window as shown below.
At this level the user can 2 messages,



In both the cases, the users need to contact the Murrays Administrator to get this addressed.
Once done user can Login with his username / password as shown below.

Once on successful Login, the application navigates to the initial page titled as “My Room” as
shown below
MyRoom Page has 5 TABS. They are
My Current Lots TAB (Yellow colour)
My Shortlisted Lots TAB (Maroon colour)
All Active Lots (Peach colour)
All Upcoming Lots (Orange colour)
My Completed Lots (Green colour)

My Current Lots TAB (Yellow colour)
All the lots for which Bid or Offer can be placed is shown in My Current Lots TAB. Lot(s) to this
TAB are picked from the My Shortlisted TAB below this TAB.
Option to remove the Lot(s) from this TAB to My Shortlisted TAB is done by un ticking the check
box before the End Time column. Removal from lot(s) from this TAB is possible until no single bid
is placed to a lot.
My Current Lots TAB has two parts.
On left side the lot(s) which are available for bidding is shown with its details like End Time, Sale
#, Ref #, Current Bid.
Bid/Offer & View buttons are placed for the user to place Bid / Offer & View button to provide the
Auction History for the selected Lot.

My Shortlisted Lots TAB (Maroon colour)
All the Shortlisted lots for bidding/offer are shown in My Shortlisted Lots TAB. Lot(s) to this TAB
are picked from the All Active Lots & All Upcoming Lots TAB below this TAB. Lots can be moved
to My Current Lots by ticking the Select for bidding check box.
Option to remove the Lot(s) from this TAB to All Active Lots TAB or All Upcoming Lots TAB (as
the case may be) is done by un ticking the check box shown under (Remove from Shortlist) before
the S.No column.
The lot deposit mentioned against each lot will be reduced from the available purchasers advance
while moving from Shortlist to My Current Lots section. When lot(s) moved to My Current Lots
then the count will lessened & vice versa.IN these cases the amount will be re-credited to the
purchaser account automatically by the application.

The All Active Lots TAB is shown in the figure as below
Lot(s) for which Auction has commenced fall under the category of Active Lots.
All the Active Lots are shown in the Peach TAB, user has to select the lot(s) which he/she wants to
Short list & move to shortlist TAB.
PDF icon will provide the Terms & Conditions of the Lot, if any & camera icon will provide the
image of the Lot, if attached to this lot.
The selection can be done by checking the “Shortlist” column. The same is shown in the above
figure.
On selection, User is prompted with a confirmation as shown below.

Now the user has to click the OK button, which will move this lot to the My Shortlisted Lots TAB
(Maroon in colour).
In the same way, one or more number of lots can be selected for moving to the Shortlisted Lots
TAB to shortlist the lot(s). When lot(s) moved to My Shortlisted Lots then the count will lessened &
vice versa.
All Upcoming Lots (Orange colour)

The All upcoming Lots TAB is as shown below
Lot(s) for which Auction(s) are going to commence are Upcoming Lots.
The Upcoming lot(s) TAB will show up with the following details in tabular form as shown in the
figure.
Users can shortlist Upcoming Lot(s) to move to My Shortlisted Lots TAB by ticking the Shortlist
check box. Upon check the short list check box a confirmation would be prompted to the user to
move the selected lot. (The confirmation would be similar to one available at All Active Lots
level).When lot(s) moved to All Upcoming Lots then the count will lessened & vice versa.
My Completed Lots (Green colour)
My Completed Lots section lists out the lot for which Auction has been completed with its details.

On clicking the My Current Lots (TAB - yellow in colour) the image as shown in the figure below
is shown.
The lots pertaining to both offers & bids will be shown in this TAB.
Now the below part explains features available in the Bidding process and its
features.
On clicking the Bid Button, the details of the Lot is shown in the right half of the screen, labelled as
“Auction Room”
There are 3 links red in colour & an icon which provides the details of:Taxes & Duties.
Lot Terms & Conditions.
General Terms & Conditions &
Calculator icon.
The “Rate Calculator” feature provides the details of the amount to be paid (Basic Price + Taxes)
for the number of quantity entered by the user.
There are 3 features available in this “Auction Room” for the users. They are
 Bid.
By clicking this button, the user will have option to enter the bid amount in Rs.

The amount entered here should be greater than the starting bid indicated & the bid
increment should be in the order of amount specified against min. Bid increment.
In this manner, any number of bids can be placed manually by the user. Once the bid is
placed, a confirmation prompts as shown below. On clicking OK button places the bid for
the
user.
At the Lot level, an upper limit may be set against each lot. If the upper limit is set then the
maximum bid value entered by the user cannot exceed upper limit.
The confirmation message will be as shown in the figure below.

 Next Bid.
Next Bid, is the feature by which bids can placed by the portal for a lot adding minimum
bid increment value to the current bid amount.
For example, here in this case the Current Bid amount is Rs.20.00 and if the user clicks the
Next Bid button then the next bid values will be Rs.20.20 placed by the application.
(Rs.0.20 is minimum bid value that is added to the current Bid value of Rs.20.00).
The increments are in the order of current bid amount + 1 minimum increment.
Confirm prompt from the user to place Next Bid is as shown in the picture below.
On clicking the OK button, the Next Bid is placed successfully and Message confirming the same
as shown below.

 Auto Bid.
Auto Bid, This is the feature by which the user can indicate the portal to place successive
bids automatically up to the amount as indicated by the user against value set in the Auto
Bid text box.
For example, now the user sets a value of Rs.23.00 as the Auto Bid amount in the text box
and clicks the Go Button. Upon this bids are placed by the system automatically behalf of
the user when the other users places competing bids. The bid increment placed behalf of
the user will be in tune of minimum increment value and if the max amount is reached this
will stop.
In this case bids will placed on behalf of the bidder, increments by Rs.0.20 from the
current bid value until the bid value reaches Rs.23.00

On setting the Auto Bid amount, the following confirmation is got from the user.
The user should click the OK button, which will confirm the offer placed & the confirmation
message as show below.

Points to Note: Once Auto bid is set all bidding options will be disabled till the auto bid limit is exceeded.
 Some auctions may have auto-extension facility enabled & this will be shown in the Auction
Room as an hour glass with tick mark or x mark. In auctions in which auto-extension is
available, the close time will get extended by 2 minutes each time a bid is placed in the last
2 minutes.
 The leading bid at the end of the auction will be considered the highest bid.
 At the end of the auction, an email would be sent to your registered inbox informing
whether you are the highest bidder or not.
 If you are not the highest bidder, the lot deposit will be re-credited to your account on close
of the auction.

Tender
If a Lot is Tender, then on clicking the Offer Button, the Tender Room will be opened on the right
side.
Similar to Auction Room, In Tender Room also there are links Red in colour provides details about
Taxes & Duties.

General Terms & Conditions.
Rate calculator icon.
The “Rate Calculator” feature provides the details of the amount to be paid (Basic Price + Taxes)
for the number of quantity entered by the user.
Offer
Offer can be placed for a Lot by clicking the Offer button. On clicking the offer button user has to
enter the amount in Rupees, that is placed as the offer text box as shown below.
After entering the value of the offer and clicking the Go Button, the portal prompts for confirmation
as shown in the figure below.

To proceed, the OK button is clicked which confirms the offer has been placed.

Points to Note for Tenders: Only One Offer can be placed for each lot.
 Once offer is placed, you may view your offer at any time till the end of tender but can't
change or revoke it.
 Till close of tender, no one can see your offer.
 After close of tender, tenders will be opened. Once the tenders are opened, you will receive
an email in your registered in box informing whether you are the highest tender placed
person or not.
 If you are not the highest tender placed person, the lot deposit will be re-credited to your
account once the tenders are opened.
Results

All highest bids and offers will be subject to acceptance by the Seller/ Murrays

The decision of the seller/ Murrays will be informed to the purchaser through email to
registered inbox.

Home icon - Will take you to My Room.
Sign Out icon - To Logout of the Portal.
Mail icon - A copy of all emails sent to your inbox will be available here for 15 days. Your User
Profile can also be edited from here.
Value Calculator icon - Calculator specifically designed to calculate taxes, duties and gross value.
Help icon - Help Documents.
