The Fine Print: PMS colors are designed for the offset printing industry and for inks to be printed
on paper. The system is applied to plastisol inks and comes very close to matching PMS colors.

EPIC Heat Transfer Plastisol Ink
Wilflex Epic Transflex inks are used to create soft-feel, hot-split transfers that give
the appearance of a direct print. Using the Wilflex IMS software and Epic PCs, users
can easily create translucent or opaque colors by adjusting the pigment loading.
Properly formulated colors will produce soft, opaque prints on dark fabrics, without
underbasing. Epic Transflex inks may also be used for conventional cold-peel transfers.

Odyssey Series Manual Rotary Textile Printer
Odyssey manual printers may be value-priced but they are built to the Workhorse
standard with tubular steel construction and a 2” diameter center shaft with
tapered roller bearings. No wimpy sheet metal and sheet metal screws on this
machine. Standard equipment on each printer includes Micro-Registration,
Adjustable Screen Angle and Adjustable Off-Contact. Modular construction
allows for expanding the 4-Color/4 Station
to either a 6/4 or 6/6. Standard
pallet size is a generous 15” x 18”.
Odyssey Series ‘Table-Top’ Manual Textile Printer
Odyssey quality in a compact design. Get model 1100
for simple one-color production runs. Great for a jacket
hold-down or a vacuum pallet for printing flat stock.
Get Model 4100 for 4-color capability. Each bench
model uses the same high quality printhead as the
floor model Odyssey printers.

Workhorse Original and Modular Series
This heavy duty rotary printer features precision-machined cast aluminum
print-heads mounted on a cast aluminum print wheel. The print-wheel
and station-wheel glide on tapered roller bearings around a 2” diameter
solid steel center shaft.
The screen set-up adjustments are TOOLS FREE:
Dial-In Off-Contact, Micro-Adjust Screen Angle, Super-Responsive,
Micro-Registration and Bearing-Aided Micro Cinch-Down. Standard Pallet
is a generous 15” x 18”. Available options include Side Clamps, Youth Pallet
10” x 14”, 12” x 14”, Oversize Pallet 18” x 20”, Leg/Sleeve Pallet 5” x 24” tapered.

After the print stroke, Flashback slides its thin quartz element in
between the garment and the screen. The printed image is instantly flash
cured and then cooled. A heat reflector focuses the heat on the garment
while protecting the screen. This is combined with built-in Turbo Air Fans
to keep the screen and ink cool. There are 5 sizes of flashback available to
fit all Workhorse machines, from Freedom to the Javelin.

Fundamentals of Garment Screen Printing Workshop
Wild Side North conducts regularly scheduled workshops at its’ showroom location in
Slippery Rock, PA. The popular workshop, “Fundamentals of Garment Screen Printing”
teaches all the basics: plastisol inks, pre-press, press set-up, hands-on printing and
screen reclaiming.
• Plastisol Inks: what they are and how they work; ink additives
and modifiers; choosing the right ink for the right garment.
• Pre-Press: creating graphics; understanding screen frames, mesh,
and emulsions. Includes screen coating and screen exposure.
• Press Set Up:
registering multi-color jobs and off-contact printing.
Fine tuning the printer to fit the job.
• Multi-Color Printing: printing production is explained,
students get to print on T-shirts, aprons, caps and nylon.
• Screen Reclaiming: proper recycling of screens to insure
trouble free re-imaging.
The one-day workshop is limited to 4 students, allowing lots of individual attention
and “hands-on” learning. Past attendees have come from as far as Louisiana,
Oregon, and Puerto Rico. Classes are held from 8:30am to 5pm. Tuition covers
the cost of instruction and all materials. Call for registration form.
