EM-70B (MSR Only) Pilot – Launch Notes 12.6.12 Partner Tech is pleased to provide our new EM-70B ruggedized 7” Android tablet with integrated MSR for your evaluation. We appreciate your review of our tablet and would like to hear any feedback you can provide. We hope the tablet meets your needs and will be included in your line of mobile offerings and recommendations. Notes: 1. OS is Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread. 2. EM-70B is “locked” to Google Play APK downloads but there should be no problem downloading applications from other websites. 3. EM-70B can be used as a remote terminal. Partner Tech has tested several RDPs but has no current recommendations. 4. EM-70B does not currently support remote updates. Partner Tech is in contact with several MDM providers but has no current recommendations. 5. To install software APKs and non-market applications and enable access from microSD card or USB connection to host user must select “Unknown Source” in “Applications” in ”Settings Manager”. 6. An additional “EM-70” peripheral testing application is installed for testing of RFID, Bar Code and MSR options but currently only enabled for MSR testing. 7. EM-70B tablet is currently only shipping with or without integrated standard MSR. Encrypted MSR, 1D and 2D scanners options are all due by year-end 2012. 8. Optional cradle is available for “charging only” -no communications – and can be ordered with an internal battery to significantly extend the operational life of docked EM-70B. 9. Turn on tablet by pressing and holding Power “ON” button 5 sec until Power icon appears. 10. Know bug exists in “Settings Manager” for RFID read/write. Updated version of utility to be made available as soon as delivered. 11. Product documentation currently includes “EM-70B Enterprise Tablet User’s Manual”, “EM-70B Software Development Guide” and “MSR/RFID/Barcode Settings User Manual” all of which are posted on Partner Tech website under Service & Support http://partnertechcorp.com/service%20support/downloads.html under Downloads/Mobility/ EM-70B.
