QUICKSTART/GETTINGSTARTED:
1. InstallSIMandstartthewatch
(a) Whenyoustarttousethewatchforthe1sttimemakesuretoremovethebatteryfirstandthen
inserttheSIMcard,orotherwisethewatchwillnotwork.
(b) ToinstalltheSIMcardopenthebackcoverbyremovingtherubberplugs,unscrewthescrews
andthenremovethebackcover.
(c) InstalltheSIMcard(microSIMcardonly)accordingtothedirectionofthecardgap,then
fastenthebuckleoftheSIMcard.
(d) Putbackthebackcover.MakesuretheSIMcardisproperlyinstalled.Insertthebatterycable
properlyintothebatteryholder.Securethecoverandtightenthescrews,theninstallthe
rubberplugsagain.
(e)ThenplugthewatchUSBcableintothebackofthewatchandintoaUSBpointtochargethe
watch.Youcanalsostartupthewatchbylongpressingthefunctionkeyfor3seconds.After
connectingthechargingcablethechargingiconwillflashandindicatethechargingpercentage
rate.

(a) ClickonthenewlydownloadKaremeAppiconto“open”.Nowyouhavetoregisterthenew
device(forexampledad’ssmartphone)ontheApp.ClickonRegister.
(b) Enterthedevice/dad’sphone’sSIMcardnumber.PLEASENOTE:makeverysurewhenyou
enteryourdevice/phonecellnumbertoleaveouthe1st“0”.Forexampleifyourphone
simnumberis0825551234,thenwhenyouenterthesimnumber,type825551234
andleaveoutthe“0”.

key,thewatchwillstoprecordingyourmessageandwilautomaticallyuploadyourvoicemessage
andsendittoyourcaregiver(forexamplethemessagewillbesendtomomordad’ssmartphone).

4. ELECTRONICFENCE–SETTINGSAFEZONES:
Youcansetavirtualradiusaroundalocation(forexampleaschoolorfriend’shouse).Theradius
setisaminimumof300meters.Youcanthenselecttheoptiontoreceiveanotificationwhenthe
watchentersorexitstheradiusarea.Soforexampleifyourchildgoestoschool,youwillreceivea
notificationwhenhe/shearrivesatschoolandagainifhe/sheleavesschool(thesetradius
area).Youcansetmultiplesafezonesifrequired(forexampleschool,friend’shouse,thepark,
etc.).

(c) Writethe“Safezone”/Electronicfencename
(d) Writetheradiusinmeters,minimumsettingallowis300meters
(e) ChooseInalarmand/orOutalarmorselectboth.WithInAlarmyou’llgetanotificationthat
willinformyouifthewatersenterstheSafezone.WithOutalarmyou’llgetanotificationwhen
thewatchmovesoutofthesafezone.
(f) Nowselectapointonthemapforexampleonthemapmaketheschoolthecenterareaofthe
radius/safezone.Selectdonetosavethesetting.Thesafezone/electronicfenceisnowset.
Youcansetmorethan1safezoneuptoamaximumof5safezones.
5. MAKE&RECEIVEPHONECALLS:
YoucanphonetheKaremewatchfromyoursmartphonetospeaktoyourchild.Yourchildcan
alsomakeaphonecallfromthewatchtoyourphone.IntheAppyoucanregisteruptoa
maximumof6caregivers(smartdevicesforexample:dad’scellphone,mom’scellphone,grandpa’s
cellphone,grandmother’scellphone,brotherorsister’scellphone).Theirwillbe1maincaregiver
anduptoamaximumof5Vicecaregivers.Sointotalyoucansetupupto6peopletophonethe
watchfromtheirdevices(smartphones)thruaphonecall.Thechildcanalsophonebacktothe6
peoplefromthewatchtothevarioussmartphones.
Tosetupeverything,letssayfor6people/6phones.All6peoplemustdownloadtheAppontheir
devicesandthenregister.The1stpersontoregisterontheAppwillbindthewatchandbecome
theMainCaregiver.Themaincaregivercanthenaddtheother5peopleasVicecaregiversonthe
maincaregiver’sApp.
Callingfromyourphonetothewatch:
1. IntheApp,select“RemoteControl”
2. Thenactivate“Callmode”.Selectconfirmwhenyoureceiveaconfirmationmessageonthe
screen.
3. NowgobacktothemainstreetmapscreenoftheApp.You’llnoticethattheintercomiconon
thebottomlefthaschangedtoatelephoneicon.Selectthetelephoneiconandyourphonewill
nowbeabletodialtheKaremewatch.
4. Thewatchwillringandthechildneedstoanswerthecallonthewatchbypressingthe
Functionbutton.Youcanthenhavetheconversation.Pleasenote:whencallmodeisactivated
thentheVoiceMessagerecordandsendfunctionwillbedeactivatedautomatically.To
reactivatetheVoiceMessagerecordandsendfunctionyouneedtoturnoffCallmode.
5. Anyonefromanyphonenumber(includingalandline)canphonethechild’swatchtospeakto
thechild.Howeverifyouwanttoavoidstrangerscallingyourchild,youcanclickonWatch
SettingintheAppandactivate/turnon“Refusedtostrangercalls”.Thiswillthenavoidany
strangercallsnotregisteredascaregiverstocallthewatch.Thestrangecallswillsimplygeta
busydialtone.
6. Important:CallmodecanonlyworkifyouhaveinstalledaSIMcardwithvalidairtimeloaded
ontotheSIM.
(g) Refusestrangercallswillonlyworkifthemaincaregiver,andalltheothervice
caregivershaveloadedtheirsimnumbers(whentheyregisteredontheAppforthe1st
time)withoutthe“0”.Forexampleifyourphonesimnumberis0825551234,then
whenyouenterthesimnumbertoregisterontheApp,type825551234andleaveout
the“0”.
7. Callingfromthewatchtothephone:
8. “Callmode”mustalsobeactivatedontheApptoenablethewatchtocalltothephone.
9. Withthewatchinstandbymodeandthescreenblank,shortclickthefunctionbuttononce.
Thetimewillnowdisplay.Thenshortclickagainanditwilldisplacethecalliconwitha
number1(seepicturebelow).The6peoplelistedascaregiverswillautomaticallybe
numberedascontactsnumbers1–6onthephone.Ifthechildwantstocallcontactnumber1,
thenwhenheshortclicksthefunctionbuttonandcontactnumber1appearsonthedisplay,he
thenmustlongpresstheFunctionbuttononthewatchforlongerthan3seconds.Thescreen
willdisplaythephone-dialingiconandwillcalltheparent’sphone(contactno:1).Whenthe
parentanswers,youcanhaveanormalcellphoneconversation.DoubleclicktheFunction
buttontofinishthecall.
10. Ifthechildwantstocallmaybecontactno:3,thenhesimplyshortclicksthefunctionbutton
untilthecalliconwiththenumber3isdisplayed.Thenlongpressthefunctionbuttonformore
than3secondstomakethecall.

6. DONOTDISTURB/MUTEPERIODSETTINGS:
TheAppallowsyousetperiodswhenyoudon’twantthewatchtoreceivecallsorvoicemessage.
Forexamplewhenyourchildisatschool,youcansetamuteperiodtoavoidcalls/voice
messagescausingadisturbancetothewatch.Todothis:
1. IntheApp,select“WatchSetting”
2. Clickon“Muteperiod”
3. Thenclickontheplussigninthetoprightcorner(+).Typeastarttimeandendtimeforthe
muteperiod.
4. Selectdonetosavethesettings.Themuteperiodisnowactivated.
5. Whenyoutrytocallthewatchduringamuteperiod,thewatchwillshowtheincomingcall
icononthedisplay,butnosoundwillbeheard.
6. Thechildcanstillmakecallsorsendvoicemessagesfromthewatchduringmuteperiods.
7. REMOTEMONITORING/LISTENINGIN:
Youcanlisteninremotelyonthewatchwithoutthechildknowingthatyou’relisteningin.This
functionisanaddedsafetymeasureforparentswhomightbeconcernedaboutwhatishappening
aroundtheirchildataspecifictime.Youcanlistenintosoundintheimmediateareaaroundthe
watch.Toenablethisfunction,intheAppselectRemotecontrol.PleasejusttakenoteRemote
monitorcanonlyworkiftheCallmodeifturnoff.Somakesuretode-activate/turnoffCallmode
andturnon/activateRemotemonitor.Youthenhave2remotemonitoringoptions:
(a)Realtimemonitor:
Withthisfunctionyoucanphonethewatchbutthewatchwillnotringormakeanysounds.The
watchwillanswerautomaticallyandyouwillbeabletolisteninonyourphonetowhatis
happeningintheimmediatearearoundthewatch.
1. Clickon“Realtimemonitor”.Thephonewillringthewatchandafteritanswersautomatically,
youcanlistenintothebackground.Whenyou’redoing,simplyhangupthephonecall.
(a)Recordingmonitor:
Withthisfunctionyourphonewillthewatchbutthewatchwillnotringormakeanysounds.The
watchwillanswerautomaticallyandwillmakea10secondrecordingofallnoiseinthe
immediateareaaroundthewatch.Thiswillthenbesendbacktoyourphoneasa10secondvoice
messagetowhichyoucanlisten.
1. Clickon“Recordingmonitor”toactivatetheservice.Youwillreceiveamessagenotification
oncethe10secondvoicerecordinghasbeensendbacktoyourphonetolistento.
8. WORKMODE–bestbatteryusage:
TheAppallowsyoutochoosefrom3workmodes/operatingmodes.Youcanchoosethemode
thatbestworksforyourrequirementsataspecifictime.Certainmodesettingswillconsumemore
batterypowerthanothersettings,sowerecommendyouadjusttheworkmodesettingsasper
yourrequirementstogetthebestbatterypowerusage.Forexample,ifthechildgoestosleepat
night,thenitwouldmakesensetoswitchtheworkmodetoPowerSavingmodeasthiswould
saveonthebatterypower.Toselecttheworkmode,clickonWatchsetting.ThenclickonWork
mode.The3workmodeoptions:
1. Trackingmode:
TrackingmodewillofferyouthebestandmostaccurateGPStrackingsetting.Wesuggestyou
activatethismodeifyou’dliketogetthemostaccurategpstrackingofthewatch.This
modewillalsousethemostbatterypower.
2. Smartmode:
ThismodetriestokeepabalancebetweenPowerSavingmodeandTrackingmode.Itis
idealtoputthewatchonSmartmodeduringtheday.Ifmoreaccurategpstrackingisrequired,
thenswitchthewatchtoTracingmode.Andthenreturntosmartmodewhendonewithagps
searchtoreducethebatteryconsumption.
3. PowerSavingmode:
Thewatchusestheleastamountofbatterypowerinthismode.Thewatchwillconnecttothe
serverevery30min.Itwillthenbe“active”for2mintoautomaticallycollectGPSposition
information.Andthenitwilldisconnectagaintosleepmode.Thisistheidealsettingfor
exampleatnightwhenyourchildgoestosleep.TheGPStrackingisthemostaccurate
underTrackingmode.YoumightnotalwayswanttodoaGPStrackingsearch,sochoosethe
workmodethatbestsuityourrequirements.
9. Loadinga2nddevice(forexampleanipador2ndsmartphone)toaWatch:
1. DownloadtheApp
(a) SearchfortheKaremeAppintheAppleAppStoreorAndroidAppStore.
(b) ThendownloadtheApponyourdevice.
2. Register
(a) ClickonthenewlydownloadKaremeAppiconto“open”.Nowyouhavetoregisterthenew
device(forexampledad’ssmartphone)ontheApp.ClickonRegister.
(b) EnterthedeviceSIMcardnumber.
(c) Enteryouremailaddress
(d) Enterapasswordofyourchoice
(e) Entertheverificationcode
(f) ThenclickonRegister
3. Bindthewatch
(a) TheAppwillnowaskyoutobindthewatch.Click“Bindwatch”.
(b) EntertheSNnumber(thisistheWatchNumber–theisthenumberlocatedatthetopofthe
barcodestickeronthewatchpackage).Forexample,onthepicturebelowtheSNnumberis:
500097610.Eachwatchisallocatedwithitsownuniquewatchnumber.Makesuretousethe
numberonyourwatchpackaging.
(c) ThenclickonBindWatch
(d) NowentertheNicknameforthe“watch”,whichwouldbeyourchild’sname

maybea2ndiphoneoripad(maybemom’sdevice),thenyouneedtogobacktotheoriginaldevice
(forexampledad’siphone)toaddthe2nddevice(mom’sipadoriphone)tothecaregiver’slist.
You’rebasicallygivingpermissionforanadditionalpersontomonitoryouchilcviathewatchand
App.
(h) Sowhenyoureceivethemessagebelow,clickonconfirm
(i) Nowgobacktotheoriginaldevice(dad’siphone).OpentheKaremeApp.
(j) ClickonCaregiverList.ThisshouldthenshowtheMaincaregiver.
(k) Clickonthe+inthetoprighthandcornertoaddanotherdevice
(l) Enterthesimcardnumberofthe2nddevice.Leavethechildnicknameasis,justmakesurethe
nicknameonthe2nddevice(mon’siphone/ipad)isthesameasontheoriginal1stdevice(dad’s
iphone)

VOICEMESSAGES&GROUPMESSAGES:
Youcansendshortvoicemessages(maximumof10seconds)fromtheApponyoursmartphone
totheKaremewatchtocommunicatewithyourchild.Yourchildcanalsosendasimilarshort
voicemessagesfromthechild’swatchtotheparent’sphone.
Sendingavoicemessagefromaphone:
1. InTheAppmakesureCallmodeisturnedoffandtheintercomicon( )isdisplayedonthe
mainAppscreen(thisisthemapscreen–seepicturebelow).Pressandholdtheintercomicon.
Whileyou’reholdingintheintercomicon,youneedtotalkandrecordyourvoicemessage.
Whenyoureleasetheintercomicon,themessagewillthenbesendtothewatch.Itwillmakea
“frogsound”whenthemessageisreceivedonthewatch.Thechildthenneedstopressthe
Functionbuttontolistentothevoicemessage.
Sendingavoicemessagefromawatch:
2. PressandholdtheFunctionbuttononthewatch.Whileyou’reholdinginthefunctionbutton,
youneedtotalkandrecordyourvoicemessage.Whenyoureleasethefunctionbutton,the
messagewillthenbesendtothephone.Onthephoneyouwillreceiveanalerttoindicatethat
anewmessagehasbeenreceived.Youcanlistentothemessageonthephonebyclickingon
themessageicon
.

Groupmessage:
YoucanusetheGroupMessagesettingontheApptoloadmultiple(uptoamaximumof5)
watchesalltogetherinaGrouponthemaincaregiver’sphone.Forexampleifyouhave3children
witheachaKaremewatch,thenyoucansetupforexampleafamilygroupwiththe3watches.If
thegroupisactivated,thenallmessagessendfromanyofthe3watchesinthegroupwill
automaticallybesendfromthesendingwatchtoboththe2otherwatchesaswellasthephoneof
themaincaregiver.Soallmessagesendwillalwaysgotoeveryoneinthegroupaswellastothe
maincaregiver’sphone.
Onceyou’vesetupagroup,youcan(ifrequired)temporarilydisablethegroupmessagesetting
andre-activateagainifneededlater.Whenthegroupmessagesettingisturnedoff,thenvoice
messagessendwillnotgotoeveryoneinthegroupanymore,butwillonlygofromthesender’s
watchtothemaincaregiver’sphone.
Howtodosetupthegroupmessagesettings:
1. IntheApp,clickonthe“…”icononthebottomright(
).Thenselect“GroupMessage”.
2. Thenclickon“+”inthetoprightcornertocreateanewGroup.Givethegroupaname(for
exampleFamilyGrouporFriendsGroup)anddescription(seepicturebelow).
3. Nextthesetting“GroupSwitch”youneedtoactivate/turnon.Turningon“GroupSwitch”will
activatetheGroupMessagesetting.IfyouwanttoturnofftheGroupMessagesetting,then
simplyde-activate/turnoff“GroupSwitch”.
4. Next“VoiceNumber”youcanenteranynumberyouprefer.Thenumberyouenter(for
example50)determineshowmanyvoicemessagescanbesendinthegroupperday.
5. Thensubmitandthenewgroupwillbesetupandactivated.
6. Nextyouneedtoinvitethewatchesthatyou’dliketobeinthegroup.Yournewlyregistered
groupshouldnowbevisibleinyourinyour“GroupList”.
7. Clickon“
”,iconnexttoyournewgroupthencompletetheinfobytypinginthe
numberofthewatchyou’dliketoinviteandclickonsendinvite.Theinvitewillbesendtothe
watches’maincaregiver’sApp.Oncetheinvitehasbeenaccepted,thenthewatchwillbeadded
toyourgroupandwillbevisible.
8. Youcansetupamaximumof2groupsandamaximumof5watchespergroup.

OTHERAPPSETTINGS:
BelowissomemoreguidanceontheotherfunctionsandsettingsintheAppandhowtobestmake
useofthem:
Onthemainscreen:
11.1 Followmode–byclickingonfollowmodeyouwillactivateonthereal-timemapgps
trackingofboththeKaremewatchandtheMaincaregiver’ssmartphone,showingboth
simultaneouslyonthesamereal-timemap.Followmodewillusealotofbatterypower.
Watchsetting:
11.2 Shortnumber–thissettingdoesnotworkinSouthAfrica.Youwon’tneedtousethis
setting.
11.3 Messageprompttone–thissettingletsyouselectwhetheranalertmessagemustbesend
tothephone1,2or3times.
11.4 Replayprompt–turningoffreplaypromptwillturnoffanytoneswhenyoureceivea
messagealert,sothemessagereceivewillbemute.Turningonreplaypromptwillturnon
thetonefunctionforallmessagesreceived.
11.5 Positionperiod–hereyoucansetspecifictimesduringthedaywhenyouwantthe
Karemewatchtoautomaticallydoagpspositioningsearch.

PERSONALIZEYOURAPP:
YoucanpersonalizeyourAppbyloadingyourchild’sphotointothestandardsearchicon.Simplyclickon
thisicon
andthenloadyourchild’sphoto.
YoucanalsoloadyourownpersonalphotoontheAppasthemaincaregiverbysimplyclickingonthe
defaultanimationphotoloadedforthemaincaregiver.
