OVERVIEW IPchecker first checks IP address of client's computer and bases on the result to define right country or area of this client, then automatically change language and currency on your site to the own ones of this client. NOTE THAT: - IPchecker checks IP address only one time at client's first access and store information of this client's language and currency in cookie. So, IPchecker does not affect on load speed of website. - This module also offers two switch boxes to allow clients changing to other language and currency by themselves. II. FEATURES - Auto-set language and currency for website, basing on analyzing IP address of client's computer. - Allow client change default language and currency to other ones. - Two switch boxes can be displayed or hidden at front-end. - Allow admin to manage URL and IP exception. - Limit its own activity with the purpose of not affecting on site's load speed. - Flexible change for switch box (only change language, on change currency or change both) - Not react with any auto-activities of browsers, search-engines spiders and crawlers, web-directories, download managers, link checkers, proxy servers, web filtering tools, harvesters, spam bots, bad bots. III. CONFIGURATION Enable IP Checker Go to System/Configuration/IP Checker to enable IPchecker first. - Choose Yes to enable IPchecker. - Choose No to disable. In configuration, you have to set rule to help IPchecker work properly. Manage IPchecker Rules - Click on the <Add Rule> button to add new rule - Please insert value in three columns: country, default store view, default currency + Country: insert country code. Ex: DE, CA, US... (View code of all countries at Appendix part or check online at http://www.aurora.se/dialing-codes.htm) Note: - You can insert more than one country code (countries use same language and currency) in one box, comma separated and no space (Ex: DE, CA, US). - To set same language and currency for all countries, instead of country code, please use "*" + Default store view: insert store view code/ID (language as well) + Default currency: insert currency code. Ex: USD, EUR, CAD... (Check online at http://www.aurora.se/dialing-codes.htm) ***Important Note: If you want your website to display any currency, firstly please check at the tab <Currency setup> (Setting/Configuration/Currency Setup) to sure that these currencies was chosen in the field <allow currencies>. You must set currency rate for chosen currencies, too). View detail instruction at Multi-currency setting. Manage URL Exception >> Using this feature if you want to set default language and currency for any URL of your site. - Click on the <Add URLs> button to add new row - Insert right value into the following columns: + URL: copy any URL at URL location and paste into this column Ex: http://test14.good-demo.com/furniture/living-room.html + Description: insert a description here Note that: If client click on any URL exceptions, IP Checker will not run, then currency and language on site will not be changed (it remembers currency and language of latest access/latest session or apply default language and currency with first access.) Manage IP Exception >> Using this feature if you want to set default language and currency for any specific IP address or IP range. - Click on the <Add IPs> button to add new row. - Insert right value into the following columns: + IP: insert a specific IP address (for example: 103.45.68.79) or IP range(format X.X.X.X-X, for example: 103.45.68.79-222). + Description: insert a description here Note that: If client's IP address matches any IP exception, IP Checker will not run, then currency and language on site will not be changed (it remembers currency and language of latest access/latest session or apply default language and currency with first access.) User Agent List >> Using this feature to manage IPchecker's reaction with any information analyst engines (browsers, search-engines spiders and crawlers, web-directories, download managers, link checkers, proxy servers, web filtering tools, harvesters, spam bots, bad bots). IpChecker will have not any reaction when meet these machine's activities (aims to limit its action which can make site reach low speed), basing on their string that you insert. - Click on the button <Add agents> to add new row. - Insert right value to the following columns: + User-Agents String & ID: insert user-agents string + Description: description of the inserted string - You can find user-agents list on internet (Google it or try this link http://www.useragents.org/ ) Switch Mode >> There are three available options: - Switch both currency & language automatically - Only switch currency automatically - Only switch language automatically Hide Store view Switchbox - Choose NO to display the box <Your language> at front-end - Choose Yes to unhide. >> Although you unhide it, IPchecker still work properly. Hide Currency Switchbox - Choose NO to display the box <Your currency> at front-end - Choose Yes to unhide. >> Although you unhide it, IPchecker still work properly. Note: - This box appears when you choose more than one currency at the field <allow currencies> (in Setting/configuration/currency setup). - Must sure that you changed right currency rate at Setting/Manage Currency Rates if use multi-currencies. (View detail at Multi-currency setting) IV. Multi-currency setting 1. Select countries In back-end, go to Setting/Configuration/General/Currency Setup Select the languages that you want to use at the field Allowed Countries. 2. Manage currency rate Go to System/ Manage Currency Rate and insert converting rate for each currency that you have chosen. 3. Display on front-end Go to Setting/Configuration/IP checker and set the field Hide Currency Switchbox to NO. After three steps above, the currency switch box will appear at front-end, and then client can change currency on site by hand. V. Multi-language setting To setup multi-language for your site, you must create a number of stores corresponding to how many languages you want to display (because one store can display one language). 1. Create new store at Setting/Manage Stores 2. Define language for each store at Setting/Configuration/GENERAL/General 3. Insert language translation folder for each language into app/locale For example: fr_FR for France, de_DE for Germany… You can find language translation package of almost countries at http://www.magentocommerce.com/translations 4. See how it works at front-end When the customer change store, they also change language that corresponding to the defined language for this store. VI.
