3' x 5' sheets @ ½" thick [0.9m x 1.5m sheets @ 12mm
thickness]) weighs approximately 480 pounds (218 kg) and
requires more than 1100 screws to install. The unique patent
pending design of STRATA_MAT provides for an enhanced
mechanical bond and faster drying of the adhesive mortar,
allowing for shorter time to grout. Specifically designed for
use with both modified (ANSI A118.4, ANSI A118.11 and
ANSI A118.15) and unmodified mortars, STRATA_MAT allows
for the proper adhesive mortar to be used with porcelain or
large format tiles and stone.
STRATA_MAT™ is the next generation high performance
uncoupling mat for use under ceramic tile and stone
installations, for both residential and commercial applications. It is designed to replace traditional underlayment
materials such as cement backer board. Only 1/8" (3
mm) – thick, STRATA_MAT provides the thinnest possible
assembly without sacrificing performance. STRATA_MAT minimizes tile assembly thickness and reduces transitions to lower
surface coverings (e.g., carpet, engineered wood, and vinyl).
