4. Open the front door of the PB-503, and remove six
locking materials (24 screws), the locking tapes
and the cushion.
Note:
There is a plastic sheet under the cushion, so be
sure to remove it.

5. Pull out the clamp unit and remove the locking tapes.
9. Remove the locking tape on the cover tray.
(1) While pushing up the lock lever, pull out the
cover tray.

6. Push back the glue injector.
Note:
Push the upper right part of the glue injector (circle
marked part).
7. Using the screw holes in the place the lower-right
locking material was removed, install the processing cover/1 with two screws (TP screw M4x6:
2 pcs.)

(2) Remove the locking tapes inside the cover
tray. Then remove the guide tape.

10. Open the door of the book receptacle and
remove 2 locking tapes and 2 locking materials
(4 screws) from the handcart.

11. Pull out the handcart and remove 2 locking
tapes.
Installation procedure for
[PB-503 + MFP 105ppm-2]
1. Turn the machine’s Sub and Main power switches
OFF, and unplug the power cord.
2. Install the Installation plate 1, the Installation plate
2, the Installation plate 3, and the Installation plate
5 on the left side of the main body as below. (TP
screw M4x6: 8 pcs.)

12. Remove 2 locking materials (7 screws), raise the
lifter up to the position where it stops, and
remove the cushion.

3. Install the PB-503 to the main body.
(1) Connect the three connector plugs of the PB-503
to the connector jacks on the machine.
(One small 2pin connector will not be used.)

13. Open the intermediate conveyance door and
then remove 2 scratch-resistant tapes and the
mirror mat.

Note:
In case those screw holes heights do not match to
fix the installation plate 2 and the installation plate
4 by screw, adjust the height of PB-503 casters (4
parts) to mach those screw holes.
Every caster has ratchet mechanism.
It goes up with reciprocating the driver into the
whole 1, and it goes down with reciprocating the
driver into the whole 2.
Be sure not to go it up too much, otherwise the bolt
would come off. (max. ±5mm)
(Be sure the caster is contacting installation surface, otherwise the ratchet will not work.)
After the adjustment, be sure to put the ratchet
part into the machine.
(Insert the driver into the hole on the left hand and
rotate it to the left. The height is changed by rotating without inserting the driver.)
(2) Align the top hole with the Installation plate 1,
and the bottom hole with the Installation plate
5, and slide them to the back.

5. Remove the CN-29 connector from the control
board and remove the short connector from the
clamp.

OFF, and unplug the power cord.
2. Install the Installation plate 1, the Installation plate
2, the Installation plate 3, and the Installation plate
5 on the left side of RU-506 as below. (TP screw

(8 screws).

Note:
In case those screw holes heights do not match to
fix the installation plate 2 and the installation plate
4 by screw, adjust the height of PB-503 casters (4
parts) to mach those screw holes.
Every caster has ratchet mechanism.
It goes up with reciprocating the driver into the
whole 1, and it goes down with reciprocating the
driver into the whole 2.
Be sure not to go it up too much, otherwise the bolt
would come off. (max. ±5mm)
(Be sure the caster is contacting installation surface, otherwise the ratchet will not work.)
After the adjustment, be sure to put the ratchet
part into the machine.
(Insert the driver into the hole on the left hand and
rotate it to the left. The height is changed by rotating without inserting the driver.)

3. If 2 casters of the book receptacle are not on the
ground, adjust them.
1. Set the handcart.

2. Check if the sub-compile door is interfering with
the top door.
*Confirmation method
(1) Open the sub-compile door straight up.
(2) Open the top door and align it with the rollers
of the sub-compile door.
(3) Slide the top door back and forth to make sure
the areas indicated by the circles in the figure
are positioned correctly, and the top door does
not interfere with the sub-compile door.
*Adjustment method
Adjust the height of the casters on the PB-503
main unit to correct the slant of the main unit to
eliminate any interference.
4. Install the filter /A and the filter /B to the deodorant unit.
(1) Remove the filter attachment from the deodorant
unit.

(3) Open the filter holding part, set 2 filters /B, and
then close the filter holding part
(3) Set the filter attachment to the deodorant unit.

5. Install the deodorant unit to PB-503.
(1) Insert 2 claws of the deodorant unit into the holes
of PB-503 and connect the connector of the
deodorant unit.
6. Open the glue supply door, and put glue pellets
in.
Note:
Unbind glue pellets keeping in a plastic bag, and
then put them in.

VI.Serial Number Registration
[C8000/C7000/C7000P/C6000/C70hc]
Register the serial number of the PB-503 that has
been installed to the machine.
The location of the serial number is shown in the figure below.
Step
1. Plug the power cord into the outlet and turn
ON the Main power switch.
2. Enter Service mode.
Note:
Refer to procedures in the Service Manual to
enter into the Service Mode.
3. Touch “System Setting”.
4. Touch “Serial Number Setting”.
5. Touch “Finisher“ to display the Serial number
setting screen.
(Select setting number key.)
6. Enter the serial number of the PB-503 and
touch “OK”. (Use “Shift” to switch between
upper case letters and lower case letters.)

VII. Importing Adjustment Data

Step
1. Plug the power cord into the outlet and turn
ON the Main power switch.
2. Enter Service mode.
Note:
Refer to procedures in the Service Manual to
enter into the Service Mode.
Import the factory adjustment data of the PB-503 to
the machine memory.
If a PB-503 and other optional units are connected,
they can recover the standard data at the same
time.
Note:
Be sure to import the factory adjustment data of
the PB-503 to the machine memory.

Step
1. On the Service mode menu screen, touch the
“Finisher Adjustment” key.
3. Touch “System Setting”.
2. Touch the “Recall Standard Data” key.
4. Touch “M/C Serial Number Setting”.
3. Touch the “Factory Initial Data” key on the
recall standard data screen.
5. Touch “Finisher“ to display the Serial number
setting screen.
(Select setting number key.)
6. Enter the serial number of the PB-503 and
touch “OK”. (Use “Shift” to switch between
upper case letters and lower case letters.)
4. "Completed in recalling standard data." appears
on the screen.

7. Touch “OK” on the serial number list screen.
1. On the Service mode menu screen, touch the
“Finisher Adjustment” key.
2. Touch the “Recall Standard Data” key.

4. Touch the "Return" key and then touch the
“Close” key.

Conduct an operating check to determine that the
folding unit full detection is working.
Note:
Only confirm if the machine combination is included
PB-503 and FD-503.
*Confirmation method
1. Press the switch on the PB (A in the figure) to see
if the switch on the FD (B in the figure) turns ON.
2. Turn the main unit's power ON, and press the
switch on the PB (A in the figure) to see if the
message “Perfect Binder Sub Tray is full Please
remove paper.” appears on the control panel.
*Adjustment method
If the FD full detection does not turn ON, adjust the
casters of the PB-503 main unit and raise it to activate the FD full detection.
Step
1. Set the software DipSw 26-4-1 (Printer centering adjustment: Disable).
2. Print out from each tray and check the centering without auto adjustment.
When the centering over 3.5mm occurs on all
the trays of PF against the trays of the main
body, adjust the position of PF positioning
plate /front. (The 2nd PF as well)
Note:
• See the Service Manual for adjustment method.
• If the centering occurs on each tray,
adjust it by each tray.
3. Set back the software DipSw 26-4-0.
4. Check the centering of each tray.
Standard value: within 1.5mm
1. When the error occurs on paper output from PB
Perform the adjustment of PB.

1. When PF-702/703 is installed
Check the centering of the trays 3, 4, and 5.
(Trays 6, 7, and 8 in tandem as well)
When PF-704/705 is installed
Check the centering of the trays 4, 5, and 6.
(Trays 7,8, and 9 in tandem as well)
When PF-602 is installed
Check the centering of the trays 4 and 5.
If the PB-503 adjustment data is changed, back up
the machine PB-503 data to the PB-503 memory.
If a PB-503 and other optional units are connected,
the data will be backed up to both memories at the
same time.

“Machine Condition”.
2. Touch “I/O Check Mode”.
3. Enter “9” and “0” using the quantity setting
buttons.
Make sure that <090-00> appears on the message display.

4. Press the [Start] key.
Make sure that <OUT:FIN> appears on the
