Chapter 6 - Control and Parameter Logic Panel Operation Remote Local The ACS 300 frequency converter can be operated from external controls or directly from the control panel. The panel is an option. The first time the ACS 300 is connected to the mains, the default control place is Remote. You can change the control place to Local (panel control) by pressing and holding the key down for three seconds. The associated LED will turn off indicating that the ACS 300 is not under remote control. When the key is pressed, the associated led will turn on indicating that the ACS 300 is under remote control. The ACS 300 is then controlled from the devices connected to the terminal block X1 on the Control Card. Operation can be changed from Remote to Local in two ways. The first method allows you to transfer running information from external devices to the control panel while the ACS 300 is operating and without interrupting operation. Press and hold the key and the key simultaneously for three seconds. This will transfer the current external reference to Page 1 parameter REF FREQ/LOC FREQ. For example, if the drive is running in reverse at 45.7 Hz reference from the analogue input, the panel frequency reference will now be 45.7 Hz. The panel direction will be reverse and the panel run status will be run. The operator can now change the frequency, direction and run status of the drive from the control panel. If only the key is pressed, the motor stops and the analogue input reference value REF FREQ is transferred to LOC FREQ. Note! Constant speed reference is also transferred. The motor can be started from the control panel within the limits established by parameter settings. Home ACS 300 User’s Manual Press and hold the key and the key simultaneously for three seconds to move to the OUTPUT f parameter from any parameter location. 41
