IMPORTANT safeguards
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed
including the following:
read all instructions before using
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
Use the iron only for its intended use.
To protect against risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water other
liquids.
The iron should always be turned to OFF (O) before plugging or unplugging from
outlet. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet; instead, grasp plug and pull to
disconnect.
Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool completely before putting
away. Fully retract cord within unit or loop cord loosely around iron, as applicable,
when storing.
Always disconnect iron from electrical outlet when filling with water or emptying
and when not in use.
Do not operate iron with a damaged cord or if the iron has been dropped or
damaged. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the iron. Call our
toll-free customer assistance number for information on examination and repair.
Incorrect reassembly can cause a risk of electric shock when the iron is used.
Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children. Do
not leave iron unattended while connected or on an ironing board.
Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water, or steam. Use caution
when you turn a steam iron upside down – there may be hot water in the reservoir.
special instructions
•
•
To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high wattage appliance on the
same circuit.
If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a 13 ampere min. HPN-type cord
should be used. Cords rated for less amperage may overheat. Care should be
taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over.
Save these instructions!

OTHER CONSUMER SAFETY INFORMATION
This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY.
WARNING! Shock Hazard: This appliance has a polarized plug (one wide blade) that
reduces the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a polarized outlet. Do
not defeat the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any way or using an
adaptor. If the plug does not fit, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, have an electrician
replace the outlet.
Use the iron on an ironing board. Ironing on any other surface may damage that
surface.
Do not iron or vertical steam clothes that are being worn.
Do not use vertical steam in the direction of people or pets.

operation
Before first use
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
Carefully remove the steam iron from packaging.
Remove the cardboard and tissue paper from the soleplate (14).
Clean the outside of the iron with a damp cloth and a mild detergent.
Loosen the tie (11) and completely unwind the power cord (11).
When using the iron for the first time, we recommend testing it on a spare piece
of fabric to ensure that the soleplate (14) and water reservoir (12) are completely
clean.
The iron may produce an odor and give off smoke when first switched on, as
residues from the production process are eliminated. This is normal and does not
indicate a defect or hazard.
The iron may spit or sputter during the first few uses with tap water. This happens
as the steam chamber becomes conditioned. This will stop after a few uses.
Color-changing indicator and buzzer signal
•
•
•
•
•
•
This iron is equipped with a color-changing indicator (13) on both sides of the
water reservoir (12) and a buzzer. The fabric setting display (7) shows the setting in
corresponding colors ( Fabric setting chart).
Press the fabric setting button (7) repeatedly, until the desired setting is displayed
( Fabric setting chart).
The fabric setting display (7) and the color-changing indicator (13) flash until the
set temperature is reached.
After the set temperature is reached, the fabric setting display (7) and the colorchanging indicator (13) stop flashing and light up continuously in the corresponding
color.
The buzzer beeps once.
When the iron switches off automatically ( Auto shut-off function), the fabric
setting display (7) and color-changing indicator (13) start flashing again. The
buzzer beeps six times.

Filling the iron with water
NOTE: This iron has been designed to work with ordinary tap water; however, if you
live in an area with hard water, we recommend the use of distilled water. Chemically
softened water (e.g. from household water softeners) is not recommended and may
cause the iron to leak or spit.
• Ensure the iron is unplugged from the the wall outlet.
• Place the iron on its soleplate (14) on a flat, dry and level surface.
• Press the function knob (4) to open the fill inlet cover (2) (ill. a ).
• Use the supplied measuring cup (15) and fill the water reservoir (12) through the fill
inlet (3) until the MAX fill level on the reservoir (12) is reached (ill. b ).
• Close the fill inlet cover (2) (ill. c ).
• Hold the iron horizontally and move back and forth for about 30 seconds ( Anticalc system).
Setting the temperature
NOTE: Always follow the ironing instructions attached to the fabric. Please refer to the
fabric setting chart on the following page if there should be no ironing instructions on
the fabric.
• If the fabric consists of a mixture of fibers, set the iron according to the fiber that
requires the lowest temperature.
• Connect the iron to a suitable wall outlet.

Anti-drip function
•
The anti-drip system is designed to prevent water escaping from the soleplate (14)
when the iron is too cold. During use, the anti-drip system may emit a clicking
sound, particularly while heating up or cooling down. This is perfectly normal and
indicates that the system is functioning correctly.

cleaning and maintenance
Anti-calc system
•
•
The water reservoir (12) with its anti-calc resin is designed to reduce the buildup of
limescale that occurs during steam ironing.
This will prolong the working life of your iron.
Cleaning the iron
•
•
•
Do not use harsh abrasives, chemical cleaners or solvents to clean the casing of
your iron, as these will damage its surface.
To clean the occasional build-up of scale on the soleplate (14) and the casing, just
wipe with a soft damp cloth.
Always store the iron in an upright position on its heel (10) (ill. d ).
Storage
•
•
•
•
•
To get the longest working life from your iron, it is best stored in a dry place.
Disconnect the iron from the wall outlet.
Empty the water reservoir (12) before storing the iron.
When the iron has cooled completely, use the provided tie (11) to manage the
power cord (11).
Store the iron on a stable shelf or in a cupboard. To avoid accidents, ensure that
both the iron and its power cord (11) are beyond reach of children or pets.
