Important Notice for the Passport 5430 Switch This notice provides information about PMC module installation on Passport 5430 Multiservice Access Switch cards and UL marking. Please read both sides of this notice. Caution: The Passport 5430 will not operate correctly unless you install the PMC modules on the appropriate cards. Refer to the following table and figure. You must install the PMC modules on the Passport 5430 cards as follows: PMC Module System Processor Card ATM T1/E1 ✔ Expansion Card ✔ Dual synchronous ATM T1/E1 PMC module Module 3 System Processor U ISDN BRI withNT1 COM PCI Slot 1 Module 4 Voice Processor COM PCI Slot 2 Module 5 Expansion Card PCI Slot 3 Expansion Card Telco Remote Console PCI Slot 4 V.34 Modem Dual synchronous PMC modules FBR0103A For more information, refer to Installing and Operating the Passport 5430 Multiservice Access Switch. The UL marking label is affixed to the back of the empty Passport 5430 chassis. However, the chassis is not actually UL listed until the components are installed. ùñôììîí÷ê0'5F0ôôù The UL-listed Passport 5430 consists of a chassis that contains these Passport 5430 components: • One or two power supplies (Delta Model DPS-180JB X) • One system processor card • Up to three cards for expansion • One or two dual synchronous PMC modules installed on each expansion card • One ATM T1/E1 PMC module installed on the system processor card • Up to three of the following WAN adapter modules: — FT1/T1 DSU/CSU — FE1/E1 DSU/CSU — 64K DSU/CSU — BRI S/T — ISDN BRI U — Serial — V.34 modem • One V.34 console modem module ùñôììîí÷ê0'5F0ôôù
