AXIS P1355 Network Camera Technical Specifications RS-485/422 connector Two 2-pin terminal blocks for RS-485/RS-422 serial interface. The serial port can be configured to support: • • • • Two-wire RS-485 half duplex Four-wire RS-485 full duplex Two-wire RS-422 simplex Four-wire RS-422 full duplex point to point communication Rx/Tx 4 3 Function Pin Notes RS-485/RS-422 TX (A) 1 TX pair for RS422 and 4–wire RS-485 RS-485/RS-422 TX (B) 2 RS-485A alt RS–485/422 RX (A) 3 RS-485B alt RS-485/422 RX (B) 4 Tx 2 1 RX pair for all modes (combined RX/TX for 2–wire RS-485) Performance Considerations When settings up your system, it is important to consider how various settings and situations will affect performance. Some factors affect the amount of bandwidth (the bit rate) required, others can affect the frame rate, and some affect both. If the load on the CPU reaches its maximum, this will also affect the frame rate. The following factors are among the most important to consider: • High image resolution and/or lower compression levels result in images containing more data. Bandwidth affected. • Access by large numbers of Motion JPEG and/or unicast H.264 clients. Bandwidth affected. • Simultaneous viewing of different streams (resolution, compression) by different clients. Effect on frame rate and bandwidth. • Accessing Motion JPEG and H.264 video streams simultaneously. Frame rate and bandwidth affected. • Heavy usage of event settings affect the product’s CPU load. Frame rate affected. • Heavy network utilization due to poor infrastructure. Bandwidth affected. • Viewing on poorly performing client computers lowers perceived performance. Frame rate affected. 62
