Seat belts
9 Warning
Always wear your seat belt, and that
means also in urban traffic and when you
are a rear seat passenger. It can save
your life!
Pregnant women must always wear a
seat belt – see page 109.
In the event of an accident, persons not
wearing seat belts endanger their fellow
occupants and themselves.

Control indicator X for the seat belt – see
page 36.
For information on correct seating
position – see pages 81, 110, 113.
Seat belts are only intended for one person.
They are not suitable for anyone under
12 years of age or under 150 cm tall.
The belt has a "vehicle sensitive retractor"
which is designed to lock during heavy
acceleration or deceleration in any
direction.
For children up to 12 years of age, we
recommend the Vauxhall child restraint
system – see page 124.
Three-point seat belts
The vehicle is equipped with three-point
seat belts with automatic retractors and
locking devices, allowing freedom of body
movement although the spring tensioned
belts always ensure a snug fit.
Belt tensioners
The front seat belt systems are equipped
with belt tensioners. In the event of a headon or rear-end collision of a certain
severity, the belt buckles are pulled down,
therefore tightening the belts.

Actuation of belt tensioners
is indicated by illumination of control
indicator v, see next page.
The belt tensioners must be replaced after
activation. We recommend that you
consult your Vauxhall Authorised Repairer.
If the seat belts are undamaged the
operation thereof is unaffected, even if the
belt tensioners have been triggered.
Further information – see page 110.
