This solicitation amendment 001 is raised to provide this question and answer set 1.
Bidders are advised that due to technical problems with the conference call of January 7 that they
should submit all questions in writing to [email protected] with cc to
[email protected]
Question and Answer Set 1.
Q1.
The single line electrical drawing on page 46 is difficult to read. Please provide a
better version.
A1.
The PDF file is too large to post to BuyAndSell. Interested bidders should provide their
email address to [email protected] with cc to
[email protected] to receive a copy of the PDF Drawing.
Q2.
Are there electrical as-built drawings for the existing machine that could assist with
the design work of Task 2?
A2.
Yes, there are electrical drawings, but the PDF files are too large to post to BuyAndSell.
Interested bidders should provide their email address to [email protected]
with cc to [email protected] to receive copies.
Q3.
Does Task 5 include any electrical work?
A3.
No, there is no electrical work in this Task. The work of Task 5 is only to design,
fabricate, and install an extension bracket to the existing steel support for the cable—see
Figure 17.
Q4.
For the work of Task 3, would it be acceptable to mount a heater under the
electrical panel near the door (i.e. behind the fan shown in Figure 10 on page 39).
A4.
Yes, this is acceptable.
Q5.
Please provide additional information on the existing heater.
A5.
Product data is attached to this amendment.

ThermostatWiring
Use any conventional thermostat or doorbell wire to route the thermostat to the
heater. Unless the thermostat is diode protected or voltage sensitive to DC (positive
and negative),it doesn’t matter which heaterthermostat wire goesto the respective
contactsonthebackofthermostat.
Consultthewiringinstructionsthatareincludedwiththethermostattomakesurethat
the low voltage thermostat being used is compatible with the 12 volt DC voltage
originating from the yellow and white thermostat wires from the heater. The
thermostatshouldbelocatedatleast5feetfromthelocationoftheinǦwallheater.
