10. On your computer, open up Safari and locate the Wikipedia entry for A. A. Milne.
Create a new eBook with Pages that includes the following sections (you don’t have
to include all of the Wikipedia information for each section): life, literary career,
religious views, works, references.
11. Use the styles menu to style each section with a heading (Heading 1) that will be a
chapter in your finished ebook.
12. Locate a photo of A. A. Milne on Creative Commons (http://
search.creativecommons.org), save it to your computer and then add it to the first
page of your ebook. Make sure the photo has been inserted as an inline object.
13. Open the Inspector and locate the Table of Contents (TOC) pane in the Document
Inspector. Check to make sure your Heading 1 is the topmost style that is selected,
and make sure your style has page numbers.
14. Create a brief video of yourself with your iSight camera and Photo Booth that
summarizes what you know about A. A. Milne. Practice inserting this video into your
ebook as an inline object.
15. Export your ebook as an ePub document and use iTunes to sync it to your mobile
device, then open it with iBooks and go through steps 1-6 with your ebook.
16. Optional: Purchase one of the iWork apps and go through the included Get Started
tutorial to become more familiar with the app’s features.
17. Optional: After watching the guide tour available at http://www.apple.com/ipad/
videos/ create a short movie about your community by recording a video clip of an
important landmark. Practice adding a title and importing a few photos from the
Web (Hint: tap and hold any photo in the Safari app, then choose Save Image to
add it to your Camera Roll, where it will be available to iMovie). To complete your
movie, add your own voiceover narration explaining some of the photos, and
upload your movie to YouTube.
