Additional comments that apply to all Ecowood versions:
• Always support the panels at the bottom due to the higher weight of
Ecowood panels.
• To plane and/ or saw in the ecowood shutters is not recommended for this
will interrupt the polypropylene coating.
• A combination of the different shutter types can be made of course (preferably the
same type in 1 window opening).

1. Material
Ecowood is made of composite wood (made of wood fibers) from environmental friendly
managed forests. The polypropylene coating makes sure the surface is smooth and
resistant to dirt and dust for easy cleaning.
The frames are connected via a classical mortise-and-tenon joint, maximising the glued
surface for maximum rigidity.
The engineered stile has multiple layers inside, made of hardwood; this imparts
excellent durability to the core of the stiles and prevents it from warping.
Jasno Ecowood Plus has, the name says it all, a couple of pluses compared to the Jasno
Ecowood.
Because the louvers are made of the much lighter ABS, the panels can be made wider.
Also the Ecowood plus is available in 18 paint colors.

Center stile
The stile has multiple layers inside, which is made of hardwood, and this imparts an
intense level of durability to the cores of our stiles and results in a long term stability
and durability robust support system for your shutter panels.
The default position for astragal stile is right over left. (Astragal stile on the right, and
butt stile on the left).
The center stile is used for NON hinged panels with a maximum width of 1219mm
(47mm louver) or 1270mm (63mm – 89mm louver), exactly in the middle of the panel.
From 914mm (with a louver size of 63mm and 89mm) and 762mm (louver size 47mm)
the center stile is obliged.

Divider Rail 2
The divider rail splits up a panel in 2 or 3 sections. The sections function separately
from each other. When the panel height exceeds 1879mm (Ecowood plus 1980mm),
one divider rail is obliged, if the height from top or bottom of panel to the center
of the divider rail exceeds 1879mm (Ecowood plus 1980mm) a 2 nd divider rail is
obliged.
Due to the fact that top and bottom rails are equal in height (default) the final position
can vary from the ordered position:

T-post
T-Posts divide a window vertically into sections. T-Posts can be used to match the
design of a window that has a natural break, a mullion, to accommodate panel
configurations that require more than two panels, or just for aesthetic purposes.

Concealed gear system (Silent View)
Available for 63mm and 89mm louvers.
The gear system is concealed in the stile and covered with a cover strip in the same
material and color as the shutter.
Important The concealed gear system will be split into half if the panel height is over
appr. 1200mm without divider rail, or from center of divider rail to top/bottom of
the panel is over this limit. With remote control the section will not be split and the
maximum height for one section is 1879mm (Ecowood Plus 1980 mm), due to the fact
that the remote will operate the gear system and not the louver.
Louverpins
In order to make it possible that the louver stay in the wished
position, the louver pins have resistance. In each panel there
is also a screw to adjust the resistance of the louvers.

6. Matching
When there are windows/doors with different heights close to each other, please make
a remark on the order form, so divider rail can be lined with top/bottom rail. The TOP
of the divider rail will be brought in line with the top of bottom rail. The height of divider
rail (76mm) will never be the same as the height of the bottom rail.

The hidden hinge give the shutters a modern and clean look. It also makes sure the
construction is stronger in comparison with a contemporarily hinge. Note: When there

Button catch and lock for connecting panels
Installing button catches makes the end result even better... (order separate). Also
loose panels can be mounted vertically with button catches.
Attention Loose panels which are mounted at an angle likewise (like roof windows)
always need additional fixation in order to prevent the panels falling down!

The tiltrod is not exactly in the center of the panel when ordering more than 2 hinged
panels (offset = 7mm), in order to make the total width of the package as small as

Floating bi-fold system
See bi-fold system for options. Difference is that there is no top/bottom pivot,
instead of that are wheels in top track and spring loaded guide in floor track.
This makes it possible to fold and slide free in 1 track.
Writes ‘F’ for floating panel, use a dash when the panels need to be split. The tilt rod
will be offset 7mm to the right from center of panels if multi fold. The gap is 5mm where
there are two panels meet without hinges.

The louvers have to be in closed position if sliding the doors in the track. Due to the fact
that each panel has 2 wheel carriers, the panel width can be ordered up to 1219mm or
1270mm. (with a center stile, see chapter dimensions and gaps).

Possible shapes
In Ecowood the raked forms can also be ordered from now on (so NO round or arch
shapes). The order will still be limited to the standard available hang strips and
T-posts so it more limited than the Primewood raked shapes!
The best way to order special shapes is to make a drawing with the dimensions.
If ordered a technical drawing will be provided to make an extra check.
Offset tiltrod
In most cases an offset tilt rod will be used for the raked shapes. The tilt rod will be
installed 25mm from one of the ends of the louver.

Position solar panel
The solar panel needs of course sufficient direct sunlight during the day. For that reason
it is of utmost importance to check the following, before advising the solar panel:
• The solar panel will be targeting at a position between southeast and southwest,
after installation. Most smartphones have a compass function these days to
determine the position.
• The window where the solar panels have to be installed will not have other window
covering products at the inside or outside, like awnings, sunshade, screens, sun
blinds etcetera, preventing the solar panel from being charged by the direct sunlight.
• The window glass has no special sun resisting coating or foil.
• The solar panel has a clear view to the window glass, within 15cm of the window
glass. The solar panel can not be installed behind a frame style or door sill.

The solar panel charges the rechargeable batteries if direct sunlight can reach the
solar panel. Rechargeable batteries also have a limited life, so they also need to be
replaced from time to time. That depends on the quantity of direct sunlight and usage of
the motor. If the use of solar panel is not possible, it is recommended to use the motor
with normal batteries.

15. Frame/Track splice
For frame, track (top/ Bottom) or plain fascia, if the length exceeds 3600mm, they will
be split in two pieces.
16. Manufacture time
After confirmation of the order, the shutters will be directly put into manufacturing.
Adjustments after confirmation cannot be made without extra costs. Delivery time
will given after confirmation of the order.

The Maximum weight per Box is 40kg.
18. Extra louvers
2 extra louvers will be supplied for each shutter. For the shutters with different panel
width, will supply 2 extra louvers for each width.
