Refer to the other portion of this operating guide for standard TV installation and operation. 4-10 4-11 INTRODUCTION iWelcome Cable Welcome to StarSight, an innovative way to locate programs and manage the many channels that you receive. With StarSight, you can: Be sure to read these requirements carefully. They contain important information you need to ensure that SlarSight performs properly. • See an instant description • ,' Select a program from a list that displays your favorite types of shows by theme (movies, sports, comedies, etc.) of what's on any channel. ,, Get information about plots, casts, content ratings, and running times. ,' Tune from an on-screen you selected. ,, Program ,, Re-arrange the order of your channels favorites first. and VCR Requirements. A VCR is, required for recording capability. To take full advantage of StarSight, your VCR must be controllable by a wireles.,; infrared remote ,control. 'With StarSight, you can: Be :;ure to read these requirements carefully. They contain important information you ne_ to ensure that StarSight performs properly. ,, See an instant description • ., Select a program from a list that displays your favorite types of shows by theme (movies, sports, comedies, etc.). • Get information and running • of what's on any channel. about plots, casts, content ratings, times. Tune from an on-screen you selected. • Program your VCR with the touch of one button. • Re-arrange the order of your channels to put your favorites first. and VCR Requirements. A VCR is required for recording capability. To take full advantage of StarSight, your VCR must be controllable by a wireless infrared remote control. Otherwise, StarSight can still provide program information, but will not be able to au_omatically tune to on;record a specific • guide right to the program Box program on your VCR. If your VCR remote control does not have, a number pad with at least 10 digits, StarSight will be unable to tune the VCR.
